Mariah Carey mercilessly mocked over BET Awards performance as fans accuse her of lip syncing

Daily Maila day ago

Mariah Carey made a jaw-dropping appearance at the BET Awards on Monday night.
Not only did the legendary diva, 56, receive the coveted Icon Awards, she was also one of the best-dressed stars at the event.
However, some fans were underwhelmed when Mimi took to the stage to perform her new single Type Dangerous.
Despite looking like a million bucks, the Honey hitmaker barely moved while performing the hip-hop track.
'I love Mariah but one thing she's not gonna do is dance! Well still love her music though,' commented one.
'She's been in this industry too long to just be standing there like that,' wrote another.
'I remember when Mariah divorced Tommy [Mottola] and danced for a whole album before she decided that was enough,' joked a third.
One naysayer even compared Mariah to her longtime rival Jennifer Lopez.
'The way she needs help going down a small flight of stairs is hilarious, and then you have JLo doing back flips and front flips on stage dancing salsa and hip hop at the level of 20- to 30-year-old professional dancers,' they wrote.
'She is the most boring entertainer I've ever seen,' added another.
Some fans also claimed that songstress may have been lip syncing her performance.
'Mariah please lip sync more convincingly!!' wrote one, while another wrote, 'Mariah was stiff as hell lip syncing up there but that's MOTHER so I'll let it slide.'
Despite some backlash, many others defended Mariah and insisted that she'd earned the right to perform however she wants to after such a long and illustrious career.
'The only woman in the industry that cannot move the entire time and still shut the stage down,' gushed one.
'Don't disrespect the legend. Expecting Mariah to dance is like expecting Aretha (RIP) to dance. DIVAS don't dance,' wrote another.
While her performance left a little to be desired, Mimi certainly turned heads with her ageless good looks at the awards show.
The 56-year-old looked shockingly youthful in a stunning gold sequined minidress to perform her latest hit.
The beauty, who wore her long blond hair pin straight with a middle part, also pulled out a glittering white corset dress for later in the ceremony.
It had a prominent bust and sparkling sequins that complemented the tear-shaped diamonds on her necklaces and earrings, as well as her glittering bracelets.
She was honored with the BET Ultimate Icon Award along with other stars, including Jamie Foxx, Snoop Dogg and Kirk Franklin.
Mariah is currently preparing to release her 16th studio album.
According to Forbes, the songstress, who has had 19 number one singles, is aiming to get her 20th chart topper with her new single Type Dangerous.
'She's fighting to stay contemporary,' her longtime producer LA Reid told the publication.
Mariah left her label Epic Records, who released her last album Caution, to partner with new music company Gamma for her comeback.

Barron Trump's best friend claims he got ICE to detain world's biggest TikTok star Khaby Lame

One of Barron Trump's supposed best friends has claimed he's responsible for getting the world's biggest TikTok star deported out of the United States. Bo Loudon, a Gen Z MAGA influencer who's previously been pictured with Barron and Donald Trump, said he reported Khaby Lame to Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Loudon's first post on X came June 6 when he wrote that Lame is an 'illegal alien ' in all caps before proclaiming that he has 'been working with the patriots at President Trump's DHS' to deport the Senegal-born influencer. ICE already confirmed Lame was detained at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas on June 6, the same day Loudon made his supposed involvement public. Lame, who has over 162 million TikTok followers, overstayed his visa after entering the country on April 30, according to an ICE spokesperson. He was granted 'voluntary departure', a bureaucratic euphemism for being kicked out. 'Serigne Khabane Lame, 25, a citizen of Italy, was detained… for immigration violations,' the spokesperson confirmed in a statement. 'Lame was granted voluntary departure… and has since departed the US.' Loudon, 18, claimed that Lame was detained at Henderson Detention Center, southeast of Las Vegas proper, though its unclear how long he may have been in custody before leaving. ICE has not confirmed whether Loudon was involved in reporting Lame to authorities. has approached immigration officials for comment but did not immediately respond. Loudon has continued to celebrate his alleged role in the TikToker's removal. He made a post Wednesday afternoon denouncing various media outlets' coverage of this incident, who reportedly called him a 'rat' and a 'rat extraordinaire'. 'Why? Because I helped President Trump's DHS deport TikTok's biggest star, Khaby Lame, for being in the U.S. illegally,' he added. 'I wish Khaby well and hope he returns as a LAW-ABIDING citizen.' Loudon also did an interview with Dylan Page, another popular TikToker who has been the 'News Daddy.' In that sit-down, Loudon said he became aware of Lame's immigration status because 'he had worked with a few of my friends and business partners' who said his visa expired years ago. 'I called some people in the administration and they said "we're gonna get on this right quick,"' Loudon said. Lame is best known known for his dead-pan skits reacting to other content on the social media site. Loudon admitted that he doesn't watch much of Lame's content but said Lame has posted videos expressing a 'hatred' for Trump. 'I'm sure he hates him much more now, which is why I posted "far-left" TikToker,' he said. Lame has not commented on his detainment or his removal from the US and has continued to post videos as if nothing happened. As recently as May 5, Lame attended the Met Gala in New York City, where he wore a three piece suit with well over a dozen timepieces attached to his vest. Loudon, from Palm Beach, Florida, is the son of Dr. Gina Loudon, a conservative pundit and former co-chair of Women for Trump in 2020. His father, John Loudon, was a Republican Missouri state senator until 2008. Loudon and Barron Trump were instrumental convincing Donald Trump that it was a strategic advantage to appear on various podcasts popular with young me, including Adin Ross' show.

Reese Witherspoon's nepo baby Ava mortified after fans point out awkward detail about her boyfriend

Reese Witherspoon 's nepo baby Ava Phillippe was mortified after her followers pointed out an awkward detail about herself and her boyfriend Dakota Brubaker on Wednesday. The 25-year-old LBI Entertainment model decided to respond to a comment from TikTok user @mahriahlee which called them 'Reese & Ryan' - implying they resembled the 49-year-old Oscar winner and her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe. Ava - who's named after Ava Gardner - visibly cringed reacting to the comment, waving her hands no, while Dakota looked equally uncomfortable. 'You guys,' Phillippe scoffed in the caption. 'Whaaaaattt.' However, the Kamala Harris supporter also leaned into the comparison by having the anthem from her famous folks' 1999 movie Cruel Intentions - The Verve's 1997 hit Bittersweet Symphony - blaring in the background. And Brubaker wore glasses and a black turtleneck to more authentically evoke Ryan's character Sebastian Valmont, who seduces the innocent Annette Hargrove (Reese) in Roger Kumble's modern adaptation of the 1782 novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses. Witherspoon and the 50-year-old SAG Award winner - who are also parents of 21-year-old son Deacon Phillippe - divorced in 2007 after seven years of marriage.
