Ekta Kapoor is arguably the most well-known individual in the Indian television sphere, with shows like Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, Kumkum Bhagya and Pavitra Rishta under her belt. On the other corner is actor Ram Kapoor, who has been the face of Indian television for more than 20 years. The duo started locking horns earlier this year, when Ekta clapped back at Ram for talking about shooting intimate scenes for Bade Acche Lagte Hain. In a recent interview, Ram weighed in on the entire episode and refused to continue this back and forth with Ekta.
In an interview with NDTV, Ram, who has worked with Ekta on shows like Bade Achhe Lagte Hain and Kasamh Se, addressed the entire confrontation between him and Ekta and her comments about him in particular. The actor made it clear that he does not want to add anything else to the conversation and stated that he does not mind Ekta's comments about his career or personal life. 'She can say whatever she wants to, but I will not say a word. Because at the end of the day, she gave me what no one gave me. She believed in me when nobody else did. And for that, I will always be grateful. She has the right to say whatever she wants to about me till the end of my career.'

To give some context, this entire bout started back when Ram made an appearance on Siddharth Kannan's podcast and talked about shooting an intimate scene with co-star Sakshi Tanwar on the sets of Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. Ram admitted that he felt uncomfortable shooting the scene and was also worried about how the audience would react to it. He expressed these feelings to Ekta, but the producer was confident about the scene and decided to go ahead with it. Soon after the comment, Ekta posted a cryptic message about 'unprofessional actors' on social media, and all fans were pretty sure of who she was talking about. Several jabs at Ram's drastic weight loss and clapbacks from Ram's wife, Gautami Kapoor, also followed.
To add fuel to the fire, actor Amar Upadhyay also had a problem with Ram's comments about his career. During the same podcast, Ram had shared a story of how he had advised Amar against leaving television and called his move to films the wrong decision. Amar was quick to revert and said that he has enough on his plate when it comes to work and Ram needn't worry about his career.
Apart from this interesting episode, Ram will next be seen in the web series Mistry, which will premiere on JioHotstar on June 27. The show is an adaptation of the award-winning US show Monk, and instead of Tony Shalhoub, we will be seeing Ram playing the role of the germaphobe, eccentric and brilliant detective.

I saw directing War 2 as a relishing opportunity to give a hat-tip to the first film. You can't have fun otherwise while coming on board such a huge blockbuster franchise. One has to take what has been set and then make the fans of the film and the fans of these gigantic superstars of our country go on a journey that is new, that hopefully leaves them hungry for more. As a director, I have to be honest, I immersed myself into delivering this feeling.' He adds, 'Everything about War 2 has been crafted with a lot of planning to elevate the theatrical experience of the audience. The maximum time spent was on the action set pieces and crafting the storyline and the conflict which was needed to mount the face off between Hrithik Roshan and NTR.' The director says, 'War 2 is truly the coming together of Indian cinema with these two huge actors joining forces. We were aware of the expectations this pairing would set in the minds of their fans and the audience and every second was spent thinking of how to give them an experience of a lifetime when they sit in the theatres.'
