Honda Ends Type R Sales in Europe with 40 Special Edition Send-Offs
The sixth-gen Honda Civic Type R has had a wonderful run. Introduced in 2022, the Japanese hot hatch set numerous lap records for a front-wheel-drive model in various countries during its reign – the most famous of which was its stint at the dreaded Nürburgring. Its race car spin-offs were also a roaring success, including regional touring car championships.
However, the FL5 Civic Type R is nearing the end of its life cycle, with production halted due to ever-changing European legislation regarding more stringent emission laws for vehicles powered by internal combustion engines. Of course, Honda isn't letting it go without a proper send-off: meet the Civic Type R "Ultimate Edition."
The Civic Type R Ultimate Edition is exclusively sold in Honda's Championship White signature paint color. What sets it apart from other red-badged Honda Civics is bespoke red decals across the hood and the sides, with red stripes to match the iconic Type R logo. The roof is also painted black, while carbon detailing is added to the rear wing and doorstep garnish.
Inside, Honda added carbon accents to the center console panel. Ambient lights are also enhanced, found on the door lining, cup holder, center console, footwell, and under the seats. There's also an exclusive Type R projection when doors are opened, working as puddle lights for the occupants.
Apart from being the last of its kind, the Civic Type R Ultimate Edition will also be limited – only 40 units will be available across Europe. Each lucky owner will get a special celebratory gift box containing a numbered emblem (1 to 40), a carbon key ring, custom-made floor mats, and a car cover.
Pricing for the Ultimate Edition wasn't disclosed, but we'd wager it won't be cheap considering that the regular Civic Type R isn't exactly affordable in the Old Continent. US availability is unknown at this point, but we expect a similar send-off from the automaker's American division.
Honda hasn't fully committed to its plan for the next-generation Civic Type R, but electrification is rumored to be in the cards. That said, Honda is adamant about keeping the fun character of the Type R despite getting battery power, so that's something we can watch out for in the next few years.

Why Isn't the Acura TLX Type S Better? Video Review
There are many trite sayings about chefs, ingredients, and the like, as they relate to tuning a car. All of which I would like to say about the facelifted 2025 Acura TLX Type S, because it is a lesson in the importance of execution over raw parts. With its 355-horsepower single-turbo 3.0-liter V-6, frankly excellent all-wheel drive, and dual-wishbone front suspension—it has no excuses. Yet it falls just short. Type S has been around since 2001 as a sub-brand within Acura. It always represented something accessible yet forbidden—close to Honda Type R's but not quite, thanks to a luxury twist. The first was the 2001 Acura CL Type S, but the most truly memorable Type S cars were the Acura RSX Type S and TL Type S from 2002. The RSX got a 200 horsepower, 8,000 rpm K20 four-cylinder engine, while the TL got larger Brembo brakes and a handling package to better complement its 286-horsepower 3.5-liter V-6. The TLX Type S, then, represents an extreme Type S product. Acura painstakingly developed the aforementioned 3.0 V-6 just for the MDX and TLX Type S . The TLX is a car unique to Acura, with special body construction allowing a large (for a front-drive based car) dash-to-axle ratio. Even with every ingredient, it commits just a few critical (and fixable) sins. Watch our newest YouTube video to find out where it fell short. Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joseph Lopinto's vehicle targeted in Metairie burglary This on Friday afternoon, crews put the truck upright. The original plan was to remove it on Monday, but the DOTD says it received all the necessary materials earlier than expected, so the Carrollton ramp is now open. Looking at trading volume, an average of 199,399.30 shares exchanged hands over the last 20 trading days. A company's earnings performance is important for momentum investors as well. For fiscal 2025, four analysts revised their earnings estimate higher in the last 60 days for PAG, while the Zacks Consensus Estimate has increased $0.17 to $13.99 per share. PAG also boasts an average earnings surprise of 2.6%.
