Bhool Chuk Maaf Box Office Day 8: Rajkummar-Wamiqa's Film Inches Towards Rs 50 Crore

Rajkummar Rao, Wamiqa Gabbi's Bhool Chuk Maaf is moving towards Rs 50 crore in its second week. Despite slow box office performance, the lead cast received praise for their roles.
Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi's Bhool Chuk Maaf released in theatres after multiple delays last week. The film opened to Rs 7 crore on May 23; however, it saw a sharp fall in numbers after Day 3. It is now steadily aiming to cross Rs 50 crore in India in its second week of theatrical run.
Bhool Chuk Maaf completed a week's run in the theatres by earning Rs 44.1 crore. As per a Sacnilk report, Rajkummar and Wamiqa's film minted Rs 3.15 crore on Day 8, taking the total tally to Rs 47.25 crore. The film saw an overall 10.90% Hindi occupancy on May 30. The confirmed figures are yet to arrive.
Though the film's box office performance were expected to be much better, the lead cast received praise for their on-screen presence. News18 rated the film with 3 out of 5 stars. 'The concept is fairly new for Bollywood, with straightforward storytelling, though certain characters could use more arch and layers that could have unfolded over the course of the film. Nonetheless, Karan Sharma deserves credit for his debut effort and we can say, 'Karan, Bhool Chuk Maaf".While Rao excels in these roles, it's also time to see him in a new light and a fresh avatar. His portrayal of small-town heroes is commendable, but his talent extends beyond this niche. And we can't wait to see him in other projects. Talking about the film, Rajkummar previously told News18, 'The way Karan has written the entire story, with this time loop, the comedy, the characters' arcs, and in the end, a very beautiful social commentary that we are creating. So it just came together really nicely for me."
Directed by Karan Sharma and produced by Maddock Films, the movie tells the story of Ranjan (Rajkummar), a young man who falls for Titli (Wamiqa), a woman from Banaras. To marry her, he struggles to secure a government job. However, after breaking a vow made to Lord Shiva, he finds himself trapped by fate until he can correct his mistake.
Apart from RajKummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, the film also features celebs like Seema Pahwa, Sanjay Mishra, Zakir Hussain, Raghubir Yadav and Jay Thakkar in pivotal roles.
