Star NFL wide receiver cuts plea deal in DUI case after cops 'found him sleeping behind wheel at LAX'
Addison's drunk-driving trial got underway this week, with the former USC star accused of operating a vehicle with a blood-alcohol level great than 0.08-percent.
Police say they found Addison asleep behind the wheel of a Rolls Royce near Los Angeles International Airport on July 12, 2024.
He had been facing a fine or the potential loss his license if he had been convicted on the misdemeanor charge.
However, according to TMZ, Addison's attorneys issued a no contest plea to a lesser charge of reckless driving upon a highway, on behalf of the Vikings star.
In exchange, the judge has ordered the 23-year-old to 12 months of probation, pay a $390 fine and complete a three month alcohol education course.
Addison's agent Tim Younger said: 'Today, after careful consideration of the charges against him and all defenses, Jordan Addison decided to plead to a lesser included vehicular offense, commonly referred to as a 'wet reckless'.
'As a result, Mr. Addison will pay a standard fine and complete two online courses after which we expect that his probation will be terminated early in six months.'
'Over the past year, he voluntarily participated in MADD events and programs and, after reflection, decided to enter this plea understanding the ramifications of this decision.
'He has kept the organization apprised throughout these legal proceedings, and will continue in his full commitment to being a valuable member of his team.'
Speaking at a training camp last season, Addison was seemingly prepared to face the consequences of his actions.
'Whatever's out there for me, whatever comes with it, I'll own up to everything. I feel like anything that comes my way is meant to happen or is deserved.'
Addison is being counted on to draw defenders away from his All-Pro teammate, wide receiver Justin Jefferson, as Vikings second-year quarterback JJ McCarthy moves into a starting role this season.
Minnesota's offense ranked ninth in points and 12th in yards last season with Sam Darnold under center, but he has since signed in Seattle, leaving McCarthy to shoulder the load with the Vikings in 2025.
Addison began his college career at Pittsburgh, where he won the Fred Biletnikoff Award as the nation's top receiver before transferring to USC.
Over two NFL seasons, he has recorded an impressive 133 catches on 207 targets for 1,786 yards and 19 touchdowns.
To bolster their depth chat at the position, the Vikings added 5-foot-7 slot receiver Rondale Moore and rookie third-round pick Tai Felton, who is coming off a 1,124-yard season at Maryland.
Minnesota opens its season September 8 against the rival Chicago Bears in Minneapolis.

US Rep. Cory Mills accused of threatening to release intimate videos of ex partner
U.S. Rep. Cory Mills, a central Florida Republican, has been accused by a beauty pageant titleholder of threatening to release intimate videos and private images of her after she ended their romantic relationship, according to a report filed with law enforcement last month. Mills on Wednesday denied the allegations, which were first made by the woman in a July 14 report filed with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office in north Florida. 'These claims are false and misrepresent the nature of my interactions,' Mills said in a statement. 'I have always conducted myself with integrity, both personally and in service to Florida's 7th District.' The sheriff's office forwarded the information to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, which is now handling the case, Sgt. Steven Khachigan, a spokesman for the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, said in an email. No charges have been filed. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement said Wednesday that it doesn't comment on any active inquiries or investigations. In his statement, Mills said the allegations were being pushed by a former political opponent, Lake County commissioner Anthony Sabatini, who ran against him in a 2022 GOP primary for the House seat. 'Anthony Sabatini is weaponizing the legal system to launch a political attack against the man who beat him in the primary, using his corporate legal office to push a narrative built on lies and flawed legal arguments — all to score political headlines,' Mills said. Mills said he wouldn't comment further. 'My team and I will fully cooperate to ensure the truth is made clear. I remain focused on serving my constituents and advancing America First policies,' Mills said in the statement. Sabatini didn't respond to an emailed inquiry, but posted on social media on Wednesday: 'Mills must resign.' The 25-year-old woman told sheriff's office investigators that she started a romantic relationship with Mills in 2021, and it ended in February. During their time together, she lived with him at a home in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, while the congressman traveled back and forth from Washington. At the time they met, Mills was still married but had separated from his wife, and he told her that the divorce was finalized in 2024, she said. The woman said she moved out of the New Smyrna Beach home earlier this year and moved to Columbia County following news reports about allegations against Mills from another woman described as his girlfriend in Washington. After she left, the congressman contacted her numerous times, threatening to release nude images of her and videos of her and Mills engaging in sex acts, she said in the sheriff's office report. The congressman also threatened to harm any men that the woman planned to date in the future, she said. Mills was first elected to Congress in 2022, and his district stretches from the Orlando area to the Daytona Beach area.

Border patrol agents hide in rental truck during ‘Trojan Horse' raid outside LA Home Depot
US Border Patrol agents jumped out of a rented box truck and made arrests Wednesday at a Los Angeles Home Depot, during an immigration raid that an agency official called 'Operation Trojan Horse'. The early morning raid near downtown LA came just days after a federal appeals court upheld a federal judge's order blocking the Trump administration from conducting indiscriminate immigration stops and arrests in Southern California. 'For those who thought immigration enforcement had stopped in Southern California, think again,' acting U.S. Atty. Bill Essayli posted on the social platform X after the raid. 'The enforcement of federal law is not negotiable and there are no sanctuaries from the reach of the federal government.' Messages were sent to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security seeking details on the raid, including how many people were arrested. U.S. Border Patrol Sector Chief Greg Bovino reposted Fox News reports of Monday's arrests on X, calling the action 'Operation Trojan Horse.' Photos on social media showed the moment the rear door of the rented Penske truck opened, revealing several uniformed agents with guns. A spokesperson for Penske Truck Rental said the company was looking into the use of its vehicles by federal officials, saying its regulations prohibit transporting people in truck cargo areas. 'The company was not made aware that its trucks would be used in today's operation and did not authorize this,' spokesperson Randolph P. Ryerson said in an email. 'Penske will reach out to DHS and reinforce its policy to avoid improper use of its vehicles in the future.' Since June, the Los Angeles region has been a battleground in the Trump administration's aggressive immigration strategy that spurred protests and the deployment of the National Guards and Marines for more than a month. Federal agents have rounded up immigrants without legal status to be in the U.S. from Home Depots, car washes, bus stops, and farms. Some U.S. citizens have also been detained. Lupe Carrasco Cardona, an educator with Union del Barrio, said members of her advocacy group were conducting regular patrols at the Home Depot early Monday when they saw a Penske truck pull into the parking lot, advertising work to the day laborers there. Immigrant workers, some with legal status and others without, often wait in Home Depot parking lots to be hired for various day jobs. 'They opened the back, they hopped out and they started indiscriminately just grabbing people,' Cardona said. Unmarked white vans with U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents arrived shortly after the truck to participate in the operation, Cardona said. The organization has identified three street vendors and four day laborers that were arrested, but they were still trying to account for others. Family members said one street vendor tried to show evidence of holding asylum before he was arrested, she said. Last month, a federal judge temporarily blocked federal agents from using racial profiling to carry out indiscriminate arrests after the ACLU, Public Counsel and other advocacy groups sued over the practices. Attorneys for the government argued that the order hinders agents from carrying out immigration enforcement, but the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeal on Friday upheld the order. Tricia McLaughlin, assistant secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, has previously said that 'enforcement operations are highly targeted.' The National Day Laborer Organizing Network condemned Wednesday's raid, calling targeted workers the backbone of the local economy. 'Today's raid staged by agents in cowboy hats jumping out of a rented van with a TV crew in tow marks a dangerous escalation in the Trump Administration's assault on immigrant communities, the courts, and the people of Los Angeles,' Pablo Alvarado, the group's co-executive director, said in a statement.
