LIV Golf UK: Joaquin Niemann Wins Solo Title, Legion XIII Finishes as Top Team
The Chilean posted rounds of 65-63-68, finishing at 17-under, three shots ahead of his closest challenger. The triumph followed his decision to part ways with his coach and caddie after missing the cut at The Open Championship, a change he seamlessly overcame.
On the team side, Legion XIII surged to a team victory for the second consecutive week and the fifth time this season.
Niemann's dominance at JCB was a masterclass, excelling in all major statistical categories. He was exceptional from tee to green and among the week's top putters. The Torque GC captain's relentless performance in LIV Golf victories remains nothing short of jaw-dropping.
It felt as though Niemann would not be threatened all day, but Bubba Watson made a strong charge on the back nine. The RangeGoats GC captain was scorching hot, going birdie-eagle-birdie-birdie-eagle-birdie on holes 9-14. The remarkable run was vintage Watson, and the 44-year-old cut the deficit to two shots with four holes to play. A birdie for Niemann on the 15th hole would stretch the lead back to three, but Watson made things interesting for a short time. He finished the week at 14-under par, good for solo second place and his best-ever LIV Golf finish.
Caleb Surratt, 21, continued his rapid ascension as one of the league's brightest young players. He led the way for Legion XIII's come-from-behind team victory on Sunday when he recorded rounds of 67-68-65 to finish at 13-under and in third place, the best LIV Golf finish of his career.
In fourth place was Talor Gooch of Smash GC, who shot a 5-under 66 to finish at 11-under and continue his strong form after winning his last start at LIV Golf Andalucia.
On the team leaderboard, Legion XIII's victory was claimed by seven shots. The win marks their fourth of the season and eighth in the last two years. The champagne shower extends their stranglehold on the No. 1 seed in the standings as the Team Championship in Michigan inches closer. Surratt led the charge, but it was the consistency of the team, top-to-bottom, that ensured another victory. Jon Rahm charged on Sunday, shooting a 6-under 65 to finish tied for fifth. Tom McKibbin (T11) and Tyrrell Hatton (T21) both played solidly to contribute to the win.
Despite a strong effort from Torque GC as they pursued their first team victory since 2023, they weren't able to overcome a tough round for Carlos Ortiz, who shot a 2-over 73. Sebastian Munoz shot a 2-under 69 and Mito Pereira shot an even par 70, which simply wasn't enough to hold off the hard-charging Legion XIII.
JCB was easier in Round 3 than in the first two rounds, playing to an average of –1.87.
Next up is LIV Golf Chicago at Bolingbrook Golf Club from Aug. 8-10.

Manchester United have confirmed that Ruben Amorim and his players returned to a new and revamped Carrington training facility on Wednesday morning. Carrington undergoes improvements Last year, United confirmed that they had initiated work on an ambitious £50m project that would see Carrington be transformed into a 'world-class' complex. A big part of Sir Jim Ratcliffe's bid to become co-owner of United was to invest heavily in improving United's infrastructure after several years of neglect and pitiful management by the Glazer family. Award-winning and Manchester-born architect Lord Norman Foster was hired to oversee the renovations at Carrington. United noted that they planned to revamp the gym, medical, nutrition and recovery areas and insisted there was 'a design emphasis on creating more space for collaboration and innovation among players and staff.' The project ran throughout the entire 2024/25 season and was set to officially open just before the start of the upcoming campaign. Last week, Amorim said about the redeveloped Carrington, 'It's like a new start with different standards and I think to go to our building, to the new building is like a fresh start.' 'So, I think the timing is completely perfect to do everything. The good thing is that everybody's aligned what we need to do and now it's to win games, game by game try to win every game and the performance are really important as well.' Now, United have announced that the players have returned to a new-look Carrington following the completion of their United States pre-season tour. Unfortunately for him, despite competing in all 14 tournaments last year, he finished 55th in the individual standings and ultimately failed to qualify through LIV Promotions. With his contract expired and no playing rights on either tour, Swafford attempted to return to the PGA Tour last season. But the response wasn't what he expected. "I know they're basing that on a couple of people's contracts being up after the '26 season," Swafford told "Subpar" hosts Colt Knost and Drew Stoltz. "So then they can kind of change rules in favor of everybody coming back." "I know some guys who didn't have any status on the PGA Tour, it's a hard one-year (suspension), not PGA Tour-sanctioned events, but then you can come back and play," he added during the same interview. "But problem is if I come in and talk to them, it's like, 'OK, I can come back and play in '27 (2027), but what does '27 on the PGA Tour really look like?' The ex-LIV Golf pro believes the timing of the suspension is no coincidence According to Swafford, several high-profile LIV contracts, including those of Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka, are set to expire at the end of 2026, and the PGA Tour may be positioning itself to reintegrate top talent under revised rules. So I would go ahead and bet and say that the past champions category is pretty much done going forward after this year." "We can agree or disagree, but it just seems like that and they've kind of told me," Swafford expressed on Subpar. The 37-year-old pro's journey with LIV wasn't without controversy. He was part of the 11-player antitrust lawsuit against the PGA Tour in 2022, alongside Talor Gooch and Matt Jones. Their request to play in the FedEx Cup Playoffs was denied, and all parties eventually withdrew. The legal battle ended with the 2023 framework agreement, but tensions between the tours, as seen, remain unresolved. "We knew there would be some repercussions," Swafford said in the podcast, later posted on YouTube. "Didn't know how long. I didn't think it would be this fractured this long." He continued, "I still think it needs to come together. I don't know how it's going to come together. As a golf fan, you want to see the best playing together. I don't think this fracture is good for the game. But on the flip side, the PGA Tour needed to be shanked up a bit." Even Rory McIlroy, once LIV's fiercest critic, admitted earlier this year that the PGA Tour should've been more open-minded in its approach to the LIV Golf deal. His comments, made during an interview at "How Leaders Lead with David Novak" podcast, echoed the growing sentiment that the sport's division has dragged on too long. Swafford voiced frustration with LIV's decision to withdraw its OWGR application LIV Golf withdrew the OWGR application under former chairman Greg Norman's reign. The application was filed again by the Saudi-backed club under Scott O' Neil before this year's Masters. "We came over here on the consensus that you were going to fight for us... and then we just throw our hands up like 'oh well, we didn't get it.'
