Ex-California police captain accused of midair lewd behavior after allegedly downing entire bottle of bubbly

A federal grand jury has indicted an ex-California Highway Patrol captain after he allegedly downed an entire bottle of sparkling wine before displaying lewd behavior on a Los Angeles-bound flight from Florida in April.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) said 49-year-old Dennis Wally Woodbury of Azusa, California, was charged with a single count of abusive sexual contact within the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United States.
Woodbury, according to a press release from the DOJ, is a former California Highway Patrol captain who was dismissed from state service, and on April 13, he was a passenger on a JetBlue Airways flight from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Los Angeles.
Woodbury allegedly engaged in inappropriate conduct with two male flight attendants.

Before the plane pulled away from the gate, he showed one of the flight attendants a picture of a dog with pornographic imagery in the background, the DOJ said.

The Sacramento Bee reported that prosecutors claimed Woodbury had been "drinking heavily" on the plane and even drank a full bottle of Prosecco sparkling wine within a 3-hour period.
Woodbury later told one of the flight attendants the two of them should go on a cruise together, before making a "crude hand gesture," the DOJ said.

After passengers were provided with a meal on the flight, the second flight attendant reportedly collected meal trays and walked past Woodbury.
The suspect then allegedly used his left hand to slap the flight attendant's buttocks before yelling that he loved him.
The DOJ said later in the flight, Woodbury entered the front galley where the first flight attendant was, before pulling down his own trousers and underwear, exposing himself.

Woodbury was told his behavior was inappropriate, according to the DOJ. A short time later, he asked for more wine, but the request was denied.
Once he was denied the wine, Woodbury allegedly pulled his pants and underwear down once more, and the flight attendant told him, "Enough, go back to your seat."
Both flight attendants told law enforcement officials afterward that they never consented to Woodbury's behavior.
JetBlue did not respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment on the matter.
Woodbury appeared in federal court last month and was freed on $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned on May 12 in U.S. District Court in downtown Los Angeles.
His charge – abusive sexual contact within the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the U.S. – is a felony that the DOJ said carries a statutory maximum sentence of two years in federal prison.Original article source: Ex-California police captain accused of midair lewd behavior after allegedly downing entire bottle of bubbly

Louisiana AG Murrill accuses Roblox site of endangering children

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill, in a state lawsuit filed on Thursday, accused the online gaming site Roblox of endangering children by making them vulnerable to online sexual predators. File Photo by John Angelillo/UPI | License Photo Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill accused California-based Roblox of enabling online predators to endanger children in a state lawsuit filed on Thursday. Murrill filed a lawsuit against Roblox in the state's 21st Judicial District Court in Livingston Parish, where an alleged sexual predator of children recently was arrested while using the site. "Due to Roblox's lack of safety protocols, it endangers the safety of the children of Louisiana," Murrill said in a statement. "Roblox is overrun with harmful content and child predators because it prioritizes user growth, revenue and profits over child safety," she said. "Every parent should be aware of the clear and present danger posed to their children by Roblox so they can prevent the unthinkable from ever happening in their home." Roblox reports 56% of its users are age 16 or under, including 40% who are age 12 or under, Murrill said. She said the interactive online gaming platform that was launched in 2006 has nearly 82 million active daily users who can access millions of online games. Among them are games with names that include "Escape to Epstein Island," "Diddy Party" and "Public Bathroom Simulator Vibe." Such games "are often filled with sexually explicit material and simulated sexual activity, such as child gang rape," Murrill said. She cited a recent report that shows openly traded child pornography and solicitations for sex from minors among 3,334 of Roblox members. Murrill noted that Livingston Parish police officers recently arresting a local Roblox user in Livingston Parish under suspicion of possessing child sexual abuse material. The suspect allegedly was active on the Roblox site at the time of the arrest and used voice-altering technology to mimic a young female's voice, she said. The individual allegedly was luring and sexually exploiting minors on Roblox, which is one example of why her office has taken legal action against Roblox, Murrill added. She accuses Roblox of violating the Louisiana Unfair Practices Act, negligence and public nuisance, and unjust enrichment and seeks civil penalties, restitution for the state's enforcement activities and other damages. Roblox officials denied allegations that the site intentionally or negligently enables such activities. "Any assertion that Roblox would intentionally put our users at risk of exploitation is simply untrue," the company said in a statement on Friday. "No system is perfect, and bad actors adapt to evade detection, including efforts to take users to other platforms, where safety standards and moderation practices may differ," Roblox officials said. "We continuously work to block those efforts and to enhance our moderation approaches to promote a safe and enjoyable environment for all users."

Mother of missing Yucaipa baby has "inconsistencies" with her story, authorities say

The San Bernardino Sheriff's Department announced Saturday that it's unable to rule out foul play in the disappearance of a seven-month-old in Yucaipa. According to authorities, the mother and father of Emmanuel Haro, Rebecca and Jake, have been interviewed by investigators about the situation. During interviews Rebecca has been confronted with "inconsistencies" with her initial statements about the alleged kidnapping. Rebecca chose to end interviews at that time, authorities said. In a statement, the department didn't name Rebecca or Jake as suspects in the case, although uncertainties about the baby's disappearance remain. Around 7:47 p.m. Thursday, Rebecca Haro reported that she was changing her son's diaper outside of her vehicle parked at a retail store when she was assaulted by an unknown man and knocked unconcious. Emmanuel, the youngest of Rebecca's six children, was gone when she woke up, she claimed. As of Saturday, Emmanuel remains missing. Investigators said he was last seen wearing a black Nike onesie. He weighs about 21 pounds, is 24 inches tall, has brown hair, brown eyes, and is cross-eyed. Matthew Rodriguez contributed to this report.
