Iran no longer a ‘nuclear-powered pariah state'

Sky News AU24-06-2025
Former White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney says the US strikes could be one of the most 'stabilising' events in the Middle East if the peace between Israel and Iran holds.
'If the peace holds, you might be looking at the most stabilising event in the Middle East since the 1979 Iranian revolution,' Mr Mulvaney told Sky News Australia.
'You're talking about Iran maybe no longer being a pariah state, certainly not being a nuclear-powered pariah state.'

‘Precisely what Hamas wanted': Israel slowly losing ‘war of public opinion' in the West

Sky News political contributor Chris Uhlmann discusses the public opinion of Israel across the Western world. 'It is certainly losing the war of public opinion around the Western world, and this was precisely the outcome that Hamas wanted,' Mr Uhlmann told Sky News Australia. 'If the state of Israel essentially loses its standing in the world, then [Hamas] has won.'

‘Utterly true': Australia's Palestine move ultimately ‘meaningless in the long run'

Sky News political contributor Chris Uhlmann discusses US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's recent criticisms of Australia's recognition of Palestine. 'Harsh but fair, utterly true that it is going to be meaningless in the long run because it changes nothing on the ground in the war between Israel and Gaza,' Mr Uhlmann told Sky News Australia. 'When there were elections held there back in 2006 … Hamas won those elections, so if you're dealing with the Palestinian Authority, it is not necessarily representing the Palestinian people.'
