Lege-Cy & Ziad Zaza Drop Arabic Pop Banger 'Wala Meen'
Jul 02, 2025
After a week of teasing on social media, starting with a studio photo before sending TikTok into a frenzy with short snippets of the new single, Zaza and Lege-Cy have finally released their long-awaited collaboration, 'Wala Meen', and it might just become the soundtrack of the summer for us.
Co-produced by Kingoo and Zaza's long-time collaborator Ismail Nosrat, the track showcases a noticeable sonic shift for both artists. Known for their sharp wordplay and punchy delivery, the Egyptian rap stars step out of their usual lanes, blurring the lines between trap and Arabic pop to explore a more melodic, catchy sound, all wrapped in slick, bass-driven production imbued with distortion and trap muscle.
This isn't their first foray into a softer sound. Earlier this year, Lege-Cy dropped 'Law Nasyany', also produced by Nosrat, which hinted at his expanding range. Meanwhile, for Zaza, 'Wala Meen' is another step in his series of sonic experiments, as he went from the rage-fueled energy of '525' to the minimalism of 'EZ' and his dabbling in shaabi influences on tracks like 'Ana Ayesh West Modmenen'.

Thomas Gorguissian Discusses His Book "It's the Mashrabiya of My Life... I Am the Lover and the Beloved"
Nada Mustafa At the Houssaper Armenian Cultural Association in Cairo, a literary evening was held to discuss the book "It's the Mashrabiya of My Life… I Am the Lover and the Beloved" by writer and journalist Thomas Gorguissian. The event drew a notable audience of intellectuals, writers, and artists, reflecting the cultural richness that defines the author's life and work. Among the distinguished attendees were Dr. Mohamed Aboul Ghar, writers Radwa Al-Aswad, Sonia Thomas, Fatema El Boudy, and Magda Shorba; journalist Sayed Mahmoud; Nancy Habib, Head of Publishing at Al Shorouk Publishing House; historian Mohamed Refaat Al-Imam; and jazz artist Yehya Khalil. The session was moderated by acclaimed poet Zein El Abedein Fouad. Fouad opened the discussion by reflecting on the symbolism of the book's title. 'The mashrabiya has many eyes, and through them, we focus on different aspects. The title suggests a layered, multifaceted life. Thomas's journey, from growing up in Shubra, his Armenian heritage, his studies in pharmacy, and his cultural contributions, embodies at least four intersecting cultures: Armenian, Egyptian, Arab, and later, American," he said. Gorguissian expressed deep gratitude to Dr. Aboul Ghar, crediting him with playing a vital role in the birth of the book. 'The mashrabiya represents both the lover and the beloved. Sometimes, I find myself being both,' he added. He elaborated that the book delves into his family's story and the broader Armenian diaspora experience. 'My mother created a little Armenia in our apartment in Shubra. The book is a mosaic of my life, thoughts, dreams, and tales woven into a single narrative," Gorguissian noted. "It's the Mashrabiya of My Life… I Am the Lover and the Beloved" offers readers a deeply personal look into Gorguissian's journey, one that spans continents, cultures, and decades of journalistic and humanistic experiences. Through vivid storytelling and compelling portraits of influential figures, the book captures a rare and heartfelt narrative of a life shaped by cultural richness and exile. Ultimately, the book invites reflection on identity, belonging, and the intricate beauty of a life lived through the lens of multiple worlds. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence"
