The viral Labubu dolls might have a new competitor, as Primark has released a popular alternative
Primark shoppers "need" a new £4 item that could rival Labubus. The viral dolls are everywhere this summer, as shoppers race to buy the must-have toys, which are often used as bag charms.

However, some fans are saying "forget Labubus", as they prefer Primark's offering. The retailer has introduced a "cute" £4 teddy bear bag charm. The popular accessory was showcased in a viral video shared by TikTok user @kadymcwilliam2. She highlighted the teddy bear charm after spotting it during a visit to Primark's Glasgow Argyle St store.

Kady wrote: "New bear bag charm in primark!" Her video has since received over 110,000 views and more than 10,000 likes. Viewers loved what they saw and rushed to the comment section under the video to share their excitement.

One fan of the look said: "Forget a labubu this is what I want." Someone replied: "I agree 100%" and a Primark fan added: "Real." Another comment read: "This is my version of labubu."
Less impressed, a different shopper thought their Labubu was "better", but lots of viewers loved the "cute" design. Someone replied: "I so need one." A keen shopper echoed: "I need that bear." A different response said: "So cute," while a social media user commented: "Omgggg."

More praise came from a fan who said: "Wait it's so cute," and their friend replied: "You know I love a good bag charm." It looks like the bag charm is not currently available on Primark's website, so shoppers are advised to check their local store.
However, the retailer does offer a selection of bag charms on its website, including a £5 Beaded Avocado Charm, a £5 Disney's Stitch Bag Charm, a £4 Rita Ora Heart Bag Charm, and a £4 Pom Pom Pearl Bag Charm. Other options include a £3.50 Furby Glitter Bag Tag, a £2.50 Hello Kitty Bag Charm, a £2.50 Hello Kitty Furry Bag Charm.
Meanwhile, Primark Home offers a bear-themed range which could be ideal for shoppers looking for similar decor. The range includes bedding, kitchenware, and clothing.

For example, there's a £10 Teddy Bear Square Cushion, a £6 Tufted Bear Storage Basket, a £3.50 Ceramic Bear Shaped Mug, a £4.50 Coquette Teddy Bear Throw, and a £3 Bear Card Holder
Alternatively, for those who are set on a teddy bear bag charm, it could be worth browsing options from different retailers. H&M offers a £9.99 fluffy bag charm, and one of the options is a light brown teddy bear. The product description says: "Bag charm with a padded soft toy in fluffy fabric featuring a carabiner hook for easy attachment to your bag."
Elsewhere, Jellycat offers a £23 Bartholomew Bear Bag Charm. The product description says: "Some of the best things in life come in small packages – and this travel-sized teddy accessory, inspired by the most popular Jellycat of them all, is no exception!"

3 mistakes dog owners are making when trying to get their pets to sleep

Renee Patience, founder of Paws Academy, has shared her three top tips for settling a puppy, creating the perfect bedtime routine to enable your pet sleep through the night If your four-legged friend is keeping you awake at night, a dog training expert might have just the answer you've been searching for. Renee Patience, a behavioural specialist, has revealed her essential pet advice through a social media guide. ‌ The Paws Academy founder reckons numerous dog owners are making three crucial errors when it comes to bedtime routines. "Here are the top three mistakes I see every week that make bedtime harder than it needs to be," she wrote on TikTok. "These fixes are simple but game-changing. Puppy sleep training doesn't have to be complicated." ‌ Renee kicked off her video by explaining her guidance will help anyone with a young dog who is "absolutely desperate" for a proper night's rest. ‌ Location Allowing your puppy to nap wherever it fancies could be precisely where you're going astray, Renee outlined in her opening point. "It's subtle, but it does matter," she explained. "So if your puppy naps under the table, on the sofa or in your arms, they're not learning that bed or the crate etc is the place to fully switch off." ‌ Renee noted that gradually, this will make it more challenging for your dog to settle in the area you want them to. To tackle the issue, when your pet does drift off away from their bed, you should carefully transfer them to their bed or crate before they enter deep sleep. "This helps them associate the space with real rest," she added. Cues Employing commands inconsistently could be making things harder for yourself, Renee went on to explain. "If you're saying 'settle' one night, 'bed' the following night and 'sleepy time' after that, how does your puppy know what you're asking them to do?" Renee asked her followers. ‌ Rather than this approach, the specialist recommends selecting one command and maintaining consistency with it, whilst always combining it with the identical routine and location. "The puppy will thrive on repetition - not guesswork," Renee added. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Excitement Renee concluded her video by highlighting that her third point is "easy to overlook". She clarified that if your pup thinks bedtime signals cuddle time, toys or a final play session, they won't be inclined to calm down. ‌ "So we want to create a wind down routine that is the same every night," Renee said. "Toilet, short calm moment, into their bed or crate then treat - this repetition builds predictability and predictability helps them to settle." Responding in the comments, one TikTok user enquired: "Should they have chewing toys in the crate? The first couple of days it helped him come down but now he plays in the crate during the night." Renee answered: "Great question. Chew toys can be helpful if they encourage your puppy to settle, especially in the early days when they are still adjusting. But if he's waking up and getting playful in the middle of the night, it might be better to remove them once he's asleep. "The goal is to help him associate the crate with calm rest, not playtime."

Weighing in at 2.2kg, the battered fillet has become an online sensation with videos of customers tackling the platter racking up almost 12 million views. No one has yet to conquer the £65 "special meal" alone even though many have tried - and it's easy to see why. Included in the feast are four portions of chips, four sides, four drinks and bread and butter and it can probably feed a family of four too. The high-street restaurant has been run by owners Alex and Natalie Bovalyaev for 11 years. The monster cod feast was originally created as a one-off for friends. But after seeing the reaction, they decided to put it on the menu and haven't looked back. Alex, 52, told KentOnline that it's bringing in more customers because people enjoy something "unusual". 'Because it's such a big piece and so chunky, I wasn't sure if it would come out OK - but after it's fried, it comes out very nice," he said. 'People love it on TikTok, I don't think they've seen a fish that size before, so we're getting more orders now. It's good fun and makes people happy.' I visited the seaside town with the UK's best fish and chips The viral videos have helped Archie's gain more than 115,000 followers on the social media platform. Millions more have watched clips of customers posing or attempting to tackle the eye-catching cod. Each fillet weighs between 1.5kg and 2.2kg once it's been battered. A typical cod portion usually comes in at less than 300g. Customers are advised to pre-order the meal and they're even a bread knife to wield to help carve it up. 'We had two fellas in a competition try to eat the whole meal, but they couldn't do it,' said Natalie, 43. She added that while nobody has managed it yet, it's something she'd "like to see". The feast is especially popular for special occasions and most orders come in on a Friday and Saturday. People flock to Archie's from all over with Natalie saying they've had customers from California and Germany. Alex moved to England from Moscow to study English at 17-years-old and learned his trade as a chippy near Herne Bay Clock Tower. The couple now run their family business with the help of their son and daughter. But sourcing the huge fillets is no small feat, especially with rising fish prices and cod being easier to buy up north. Alex says that the UK's cod season falls in December, January and February

'I'm a dog expert and there's one amazing breed that make the best pets'

As there are so many dog breeds to choose from prospective owners are spoilt for choice, and a canine expert has named the one breed he claims has all the qualities to make the perfect family pet Countless households across Britain are home to pet dogs, with a large variety of breeds to choose from. A dog's breed can significantly impact its temperament, how easily it can be trained, its energy requirements and potential health issues. ‌ Dog owners will be well aware that certain breeds demand more physical activity than others, making them ideal companions for energetic families. Personality traits also differ between breeds, with some being naturally sociable and outgoing whilst others tend to be more reserved. Future dog owners face a number of considerations when contemplating welcoming a four-legged friend into their household, and one specialist has revealed his ultimate breed recommendation. ‌ Will Atherton is a clinical canine behaviourist and the founder of WA Academy and Will Atherton Canine Centre and he has gained a substantial following across Instagram, TikTok and Youtube where he shares his dog knowledge and guidance. ‌ In a recent TikTok video, Atherton shared why he thinks labradors are the top dog breed. He said: "Labradors are the best dog breed on the planet, and it's not really a discussion that I'm open to having a debate on because in my opinion, it's simply facts." The canine expert then explained the reasoning behind his strong opinion. He said that labradors were "bred to be amazing with people, hyper intelligent, amazing with other dogs" and taught to be "calm, relaxed and stable and to not have any form of aggression in them whatsoever." ‌ Atherton has sung the praises of labradors, claiming they "have a huge desire to please their owners" and an "incredible food and toy drive" which he says makes them a breeze to train. He enthused: "They really are the complete package to build the perfect family pet." ‌ In his TikTok video's caption, the dog behaviour expert, who deals with rescue dogs and those at risk of euthanasia daily, stated that he "hand on heart" believes if everyone picked a labrador as their first dog, there would be "50%+ less dogs in shelters." Atherton has noticed that many canine problems arise from people picking breeds they're "woefully underprepared for." He elaborated: "All dogs need leadership and solid training, but Labradors make leading them and training them easy, and when things go wrong it's very rarely seriously wrong, and are usually the easiest breeds to rectify issues with. So more labs would mean less dogs in shelters. ‌ "And when you've proven you're capable of being a high level canine leader then explore the idea of other breeds." The PDSA, the UK's top veterinary charity, echoes Atherton's statements, describing labradors on its website as "devoted, affectionate, loving dogs that will happily get along with everyone." ‌ The site also notes that labradors are "obedient, quick to learn and eager to please, so training should be fairly easy." Atherton's TikTok clip has amassed 442,100 views, 29,100 likes and nearly 900 comments so far. One user gushed: "Black girl labs will forever be my all time favourite, I couldn't live without mine." Another added: "I completely agree with the idea that Labradors are a great choice for first-time dog owners. "Their temperament and ease of training make them ideal for building leadership and confidence as a pet owner. Starting with a Labrador can definitely help prevent many of the issues that arise with less suited breeds. "It's refreshing to see someone so dedicated to both rescue dogs and helping owners understand the importance of choosing the right breed for their lifestyle. Keep up the amazing work!"
