It's a revolutionary concept: Rent is by far the largest monthly expense for most Americans. Rewards earned through Bilt can be used to offset rent or a future mortgage, or converted into valuable airline miles and hotel points to help you knock off bucket-list travel that might otherwise be unattainable.
The Bilt app integrates with points and miles award tracking service Point.me to make booking travel with points as easy as possible.

Double Bilt points on non-rent purchases (June 1 only)
On the first day of each month, the Bilt Mastercard® (rates and fees) earns twice its normal rate for non-rent purchases, up to 1,000 bonus points. Here's what you'll earn:
6 points per dollar on dining (regularly 3 points per dollar) — and up to 11 points per dollar when using the Bilt Dining feature
4 points per dollar on travel (regularly 2 points per dollar)
2 points per dollar on all other purchases (regularly 1 point per dollar)
Rent payments do not double, remaining at 1 point per dollar with the Bilt Mastercard® (up to 100,000 points in a calendar year).
When using Bilt Dining, you'll earn 5 bonus points per dollar at select restaurants. This stacks with the 3 points per dollar you'll normally earn when using the Bilt Mastercard® for dining. During Rent Day, this 5-point bonus will not be additionally bonused.
One important note: You must use your Bilt Mastercard® at least five times per statement period to be eligible to earn points.

Play the Rent Free game for a chance to have your rent paid (between May 27 and June 1)
Bilt offers a Family Feud-style game called Rent Free, with a different celebrity guest each month. Participants guess their best answers to questions Bilt presents to a panel of 1,000 members each month, trying to identify the most popular answers.
Rent Free has new and improved rules for winning points and free rent (up to $2,500). Game show participants will be scored on their guesses, calculated from three factors:
Correctly pick a top-three answer
Correctly rank that answer on the board (double points)
Correctly choosing the same answer as the celebrity guest of the month (triple points)
The top-scoring 10 Rent Free participants will earn a free month of rent, up to $2,500 apiece. If two top participants tie with the exact same score, the win will go to the Bilt Member who completed the game first. The next top-scoring 500 participants will earn bonus Bilt Points.
Bilt members can play Rent Free from May 27 until 3 p.m. ET on June 1.
After 4 p.m. on Bilt Rent Day, you can return to the Bilt app to watch the full episode and see your score. The top 10 scoring players will be this month's rent winners, and the next top scoring 1,000 members will nab some extra Bilt Points.
How Bilt Rent Day works
Bilt Rewards aims to make paying rent, which typically falls on the first day of each month just a little bit more fun.
Bilt Rent Day falls on the first of every month, and Bilt members who fire up the Bilt Rewards app can book complimentary SoulCycle classes, earn extra points by playing trivia games, and participate in various promotions with exciting rewards such as a free month's worth of rent.
Earning rewards on rent payments
Bilt Rent Day is part of the Bilt Mastercard® incentives program, which helps renters earn rewards on rent payments. Most credit cards charge a fee for paying rent by credit card, and many landlords refuse to accept rent payments by card because of the high fees associated with processing credit card transactions.
The Bilt Mastercard® absorbs those fees, and throws in generous rewards to boot: Renters earn 1 point on rent payments without the transaction fee (up to 100,000 points each calendar year), 3 points on dining, 2 points on travel, and 1 point on other purchases (use the card 5 times each statement period to earn points).
Special promotions and bonus points
Bilt Mastercard® cardholders regularly get opportunities to earn bonus points. Cardholders earn 3 points per dollar on dining and 2 points on travel at all times, plus 1 point on everything else when you use the card five times during a statement period.
On Bilt Rent Day, all rewards are doubled, except on rent payments, up to 1,000 points: Restaurant dining now earns 6 points per dollar, travel earns 4 points per dollar, and regular spending outside of rent earns 2 points per dollar.
Bilt Dining
The Bilt Dining program allows everyone — even non-Bilt card members — to earn bonus points on eating out. Participating restaurants in dozens of cities offer bonus points for every dollar spent at that location.
Anyone who links a credit card to the Bilt Rewards app can earn these bonus points — this way, you can "double-dip" rewards if you prefer to pay for restaurant spend on a card that earns generous rewards on dining.
Participating in Bilt Rent Day
You can participate in Bilt Rent Day even if you don't pay rent. Here's how:
Eligibility and signup process
You'll need a Bilt Rewards account to participate in Bilt Rent Day activities. Sign up at Bilt Rewards, and link your Bilt Mastercard® to the account if you have one. Then download the Bilt Rewards app onto your mobile device to participate.
Every month, bonus activities will be announced a few days ahead of time, so keep an eye out for free fitness class sign-ups or other time-sensitive activities. Then on the first of the month, log back in to look for restaurants offering elevated dining rewards, play games to earn extra Bilt points, and more.
Making rent payments through Bilt
Rent payments also take place within the Bilt Rewards app. Click on the "pay rent" button toward the bottom of the app, and follow the instructions on the screen. There are two options: "Pay rent online" or "pay by check."
It's easiest to pay rent via the Bilt Mastercard®, since it doesn't charge transaction fees.
Pay rent online
If your building allows online rent payments, use the virtual routing number and account number provided within the app to send your transaction just like you would set up an online draft through your bank account.
Pay by check
If your landlord doesn't allow online payments, you can request a rent check via the Bilt app. Complete the setup process by sharing your landlord's contact and payment information, and your rent check will automatically be disbursed on your behalf each month. You may need to finesse the timing of your payments to ensure that your rent checks arrive on the required date each month to avoid late fees.
Maximizing your rewards
Strategies for increasing points on Bilt Rent Day
Bilt Rent Day promotions change monthly, but these best practices can help you make the most of each bonus opportunity.
Dine out on Bilt Rent Day
Cardholders earn 6 points per dollar on dining on Bilt Rent Day, and can double up on extra rewards by visiting Bilt dining partners that earn additional points per dollar spent.
Best practices for redeeming Bilt points
The rewards earned from Bilt Rent Day can be substantial if you max out every opportunity. Bilt Points are most valuable when transferred to airline partners. Our guide to the value of Bilt Points can help you strategize the best travel opportunities and redemption rewards.
You can also redeem your points toward rent payments or paying down your statement balance, or use them to pay for products through the Bilt Collection.
Benefits beyond rent payments
Travel and lifestyle partnerships
Bilt has several travel and lifestyle partnerships with various brands, such as SoulCycle. Bilt members who book SoulCycle classes through the app often earn bonus points or class credits toward future workouts.
Home ownership credits
Renters interested in owning their own homes someday can benefit from Bilt Rewards as well. Bilt reports to major credit bureaus, so timely payments toward your credit card statement balance can help you raise your credit score, qualifying you for better mortgage interest rates and loan terms. House Budget Bill Targets $300B in SNAP Cuts — 4 Potential Impacts To Benefits

Americans who depend on food stamps to help them buy groceries could see their benefits slashed if Congress passes President Trump's budget bill, which he personally dubbed the 'Big Beautiful Bill.' Find Out: Read Next: The bill certainly includes big cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), a federal program that helps about 40 million Americans buy healthy food, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The U.S. House passed a version of the bill in late May that includes nearly $300 billion in SNAP cuts, according to a report from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP), which cited Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates. The bill is now being weighed by the Senate, where it's expected to face a tougher fight. A few key Republican senators have voiced opposition to the House version. However, as USA Today reported, much of that opposition has to do with a desire to cut more spending from the bill, protect certain energy subsidies or avoid slashing Medicaid funding. There is little, if any, GOP opposition to cutting SNAP benefits, at least publicly. The SNAP cuts do face plenty of opposition from advocacy groups, though. Jason Gromley, Senior Director for Share Our Strength and its No Kid Hungry campaign, called the bill 'a vote to increase childhood hunger.' 'This proposal reflects the largest and most extreme cuts to SNAP in history,' Gromley said in a press release. 'These cuts will do nothing to improve the lives of Americans, and will make it even harder for those who do receive benefits to afford enough food to feed their families.' According to the CBPP, here are four ways the proposed cuts will impact SNAP benefits. More than 2 million children will see food assistance to their families either 'cut substantially' or ended altogether. That figure is based on CBO estimates of the bill's SNAP provisions impact. It doesn't include provisions that prevent future benefit increases, which will impact all SNAP recipients. Warren Buffett: As the CBPP noted, under current SNAP rules, adults without children in their homes are limited to three months of benefits out of every three years if they can't prove that they either meet a 20-hour-per-week work requirement, or are exempt from the requirement. The House bill would expand the restriction to parents of children over the age of 6, and to older adults aged 55 to 64. Expanding the work requirement would cut SNAP by $92 billion through 2034, according to the CBO. It also would take food assistance away 'entirely' from 3.2 million adults in a typical month. One result is that about 1 million children would see their food benefits reduced substantially. The House bill would cut federal spending on school lunches and breakfasts by $700 million, according to the CBO. This would affect about 420,000 children in an average month by ending their school meals and/or cutting off their summer SNAP payments. The House bill also would eliminate all SNAP assistance for up to 250,000 foreign-born residents — including roughly 50,000 children — who are legal residents of the U.S. Many are refugees and people granted asylum who've proven to have fled violence and persecution in other countries, according to the CBPP. 18% of Las Vegas home deals fell through in April — but is it a sign the market is turning in buyers' favor?

Home buyers in Las Vegas are walking away from contracts in increasing numbers. High interest rates, financial anxiety and an oversupplied market are pushing many to rethink their purchases before closing. Thanks to Jeff Bezos, you can now become a landlord for as little as $100 — and no, you don't have to deal with tenants or fix freezers. Here's how I'm 49 years old and have nothing saved for retirement — what should I do? Don't panic. Here are 6 of the easiest ways you can catch up (and fast) Nervous about the stock market in 2025? Find out how you can access this $1B private real estate fund (with as little as $10) A recent Redfin report found 14.3% of U.S. homes under contract in April were canceled, marking the second-highest April cancellation rate on record, behind only the pandemic-era spike in April 2020. In Las Vegas, the rate was even higher: 18.6% of purchase agreements fell through, placing the city eighth among major U.S. metros for canceled deals. Here are two of the main reasons for the growing trend. Higher mortgage rates and skyrocketing home prices are driving many to the brink. The average 30-year fixed mortgage rate hit 6.85% in June, more than double what it was during pandemic lows. That kind of increase can add hundreds — even thousands — to monthly payments when taxes and insurance are included. 'Groceries have been high, gas has been high, utilities have been high,' said Jillian Batchelor, a Southern Nevada realtor, in an interview with 8 News Now. 'So buyers are more payment-conscious or payment-savvy than they really ever have been.' And with inflation still weighing on American households, some prospective buyers are having trouble securing final approval. Others are rethinking whether they can afford the total cost once they see the final numbers — including homeowners association (HOA) fees and insurance premiums. Redfin agents nationwide are also seeing buyers hesitate due to broader economic and political instability — including layoffs, tariffs and federal policy uncertainty. Another recent Redfin survey found that nearly 1 in 4 Americans scrapped plans for a major purchase this year due to tariffs. Read more: Want an extra $1,300,000 when you retire? Dave Ramsey says — and that 'anyone' can do it The housing market in Las Vegas is also experiencing a surge in listings. '[A] buyer goes under contract,' Batchelor told 8 News Now. 'And all of a sudden a week later they see, 'oh there's five more homes available in that neighborhood, this one might be nicer, this one might have more upgrades.'' With inventory now at a five-year high nationally, according to Redfin, this scenario is becoming increasingly common — especially in states like Nevada, Texas and Florida, where new home construction has surged. Buyers feel less pressure to settle, knowing there may be better deals just around the corner. That confidence is reshaping buyer behavior. According to Redfin's report, five of the 10 metros with the highest cancellation rates are in Florida — which is a sign that growing supply can tip the scales in favor of consumers. While Las Vegas may be an extreme case, the underlying issues — affordability and market saturation — are national in scope. From Riverside, California to Atlanta, Georgia (which led the country with a 20% contract cancellation rate), buyers are hitting the brakes. This shift may suggest that while the housing market may be cooling, affordability is still out of reach for many Americans. Still, Redfin economists predict some relief later in 2025, with home prices expected to drop modestly as demand softens. In the meantime, buyers are urged to do their research, stay flexible and be ready to walk if the numbers don't add up. As Batchelor put it, 'All of this is just an adjustment to probably (…) equalize the playing field — maybe a little bit more.' Rich, young Americans are ditching the stormy stock market — here are the alternative assets they're banking on instead Robert Kiyosaki warns of a 'Greater Depression' coming to the US — with millions of Americans going poor. But he says these 2 'easy-money' assets will bring in 'great wealth'. How to get in now This tiny hot Costco item has skyrocketed 74% in price in under 2 years — but now the retail giant is restricting purchases. Here's how to buy the coveted asset in bulk Here are 5 'must have' items that Americans (almost) always overpay for — and very quickly regret. How many are hurting you? Like what you read? We Asked ChatGPT What Would Happen to the Economy If Every American Had the Same Net Worth

Your net worth gives you a snapshot of your financial health. To calculate net worth, subtract all your debt from your total cash and other assets. Assets include money in the bank, plus the market value of your investments, along with equity in your home, vehicles and other property. Based on data from the U.S. Federal Reserve, Americans hold a combined total of $160.35 trillion in wealth. But this money is far from evenly divided. The average net worth for Americans is $1.06 million, driven up by billionaires in the top 1% who hold more than 30% of America's combined wealth, as previously reported by GOBankingRates. Find Out: Read Next: The median household net worth, on the other hand, is a mere $192,700. That's what those directly in the middle hold. With 340.11 million people in the U.S. as of the last census, if we were to divide wealth evenly across America, every person, including children, would receive $471,465. But how would this affect the economy? We thought it would be interesting to ask ChatGPT five questions about what U.S. society might look like if everyone held the same amount of wealth. A sudden, universal distribution of $471,000 per person would trigger one of the most profound economic shocks in U.S. history. You'd see a sharp spike in consumer spending as people rushed to pay off debts, buy homes, upgrade lifestyles or enjoy new wealth. That kind of demand surge could overstimulate the economy, driving rapid inflation. On the flip side, the distribution would likely reduce poverty almost instantly, increase social mobility and potentially narrow longstanding racial and generational wealth gaps. Discover More: The ripple effects would be global. If inflation in the U.S. rose sharply, the Federal Reserve might respond by raising interest rates, which would tighten global credit conditions. In short: Global trade would see a burst of demand, but financial markets might wobble under the pressure of such a dramatic change in asset ownership. That's the billion-dollar logistical question. Much of the 1%'s wealth is tied up in equities, private businesses, real estate and other non-cash assets. To redistribute this wealth, the government would likely have to impose a one-time wealth tax or forced asset sale, converting a portion of high-value holdings into cash or government-backed tokens for distribution. But doing this without tanking the markets would be tricky. Large-scale liquidation could depress asset prices, which would shrink the total wealth pool even as it was being divided. We'd likely see a wave of early retirements, career changes and sabbaticals. But over time, the novelty would wear off, and people would re-enter the workforce, driven by purpose, ambition or the eventual depletion of their funds. Labor shortages could emerge in essential but lower-paid sectors like nursing, sanitation, food service and education, requiring either major wage increases or policy-driven incentives to keep these roles filled. Day-to-day life would look radically different for a while. Income inequality would shrink overnight, and the stigma around poverty could fade. Neighborhoods might become more economically integrated. Access to healthcare, education and homeownership could expand dramatically. Over time, new hierarchies would likely emerge. People would still make different choices about saving, spending and investing. Some would grow their wealth; others would spend through it. Human behavior and market dynamics tend to recreate inequality unless systems are in place to continually check it.
