ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD) The Coast Guard of the National Guard carried out on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, an evacuation mission involving 24 crew members of the oil tanker ADALYNN, following a collision between two ships in the Sea of Oman.
In a post on "X," the National Guard said: "The ship's crew was evacuated from the incident site, located 24 nautical miles off the country's coast, to the Port of Khor Fakkan using search and rescue boats."

14 Aug 2025 12:37 ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD) The Emirate of Abu Dhabi has unveiled the official logo for the 'XX World Congress of the World Federation of the Deaf 2027', marking the beginning of preparations for this prestigious event to be held in the Arab region for the first time. Scheduled for September 19-23, 2027, the Congress will bring over 2,000 participants from worldwide to Abu Dhabi to celebrate the richness of national sign languages, foster cross-border collaborations, and empower Deaf by the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO) in partnership with the UAE Deaf Association, this edition will be held under the theme 'Sign Languages: Always and Everywhere,' emphasising the universal role of sign language in connecting communities and advancing Abudalee Al Humaidan, General Secretary of ZHO, said: 'Bringing the 'World's Congress of the World Federation of the Deaf' to Abu Dhabi for the first time in the Middle East is more than an honour — it is a defining moment for our nation's commitment to inclusivity.'He added: 'This Congress will shine a global spotlight on the UAE's vision of empowering people of determination, breaking barriers, and celebrating their invaluable contributions to society. The unveiling of this logo symbolises not just the beginning of an event, but the promise of a transformative journey where thousands of Deaf participants from around the world will connect, inspire, and shape a more inclusive future together in Abu Dhabi.'Echoing this, Musabah Saeed Al Neyadi, Chair of the Organising Committee and representative of the Deaf communities, said: 'This Congress is a celebration of our identity and our language. The new logo, created by a Deaf designer from our region, reflects our shared values of openness and unity. It invites the world to come to Abu Dhabi and witness the power of sign language in bringing communities together.' Dr. Joseph J. 13 Aug 2025 00:30 SARA ALZAABI (ABU DHABI)For Sanad Alwatan Women Society, engaging the youth and fostering a sense of social responsibility are essential to shaping them into confident leaders of the its fifth annual community forum, the organisation turns the spotlight on empowering Emirati youth as active contributors to the nation's observance of International Youth Day, the society held its community forum under the banner 'Youth is the Support of the Nation'. The event took place on Monday and Tuesday, with the final day set for August 14, at the Nabdh Al Falah community Amina Al Majed, president of the association, opened the conference by emphasising that the youth are the foundation of the nation and a vital force in its than serving as a space for meaningful discussions, the forum connects the youth with decision-makers. The new generation is able to share their ideas, express their needs, and talk about the challenges they forum fosters cooperation between the youth and institutions, the society said.'This year, the forum adopts a renewed vision, presenting a different theme each month aligned with global events and occasions, such as the International Day of Families, Father's Day, and the summer vacation. It also offers quality programmes that address key youth issues, providing more interactive and relevant content,' it Mouza Al Nuaimi, faculty member at Abu Dhabi University and member of the society's board of directors, has been encouraging her students to attend the forum, saying it could expand their horizons while supporting personality part of its mission of immersing young talents in community work, Sanad Alwatan Women Society has a series of initiatives in the pipeline.'We are currently in the process of launching an initiative aimed at involving the children of our members to volunteer at the association's events. We plan to expand the scope of participation to include innovation and specialised volunteer work in the future,' the society said.
