‘Not that happy': US tariffs on China were forcing the Chinese to ‘sacrifice a great deal'
Curtin University Dean of Global Futures Joe Siracusa says US President Donald Trump's tariffs on China were forcing the country to 'sacrifice a great deal'.
'In China … it's got problems with its cities, it's got problems with unemployment, it has factories closing down, it's got a property crisis,' Mr Siracusa told Sky News Digital Presenter Gabriella Power.
'The Chinese are not that happy about life.
'President Xi could force the Chinese to sacrifice a great deal or more than President Trump, who only has three and a half years to run.'

‘They are not stupid': Dangerous ‘intent' behind LA protests slammed
Filmmaker Ami Horowitz has compared the 'intent' of the anti-Trump protestors in Los Angeles with pro-Palestinian activists who have demonstrated across the country in recent months. Police have deployed tear gas and rubber bullets in Los Angeles as hundreds of thousands of protesters turned out across the US for 'No Kings' demonstrations organised to coincide with President Donald Trump's controversial military parade. 'Let's be clear about something: these people are not stupid ... they know exactly what they are doing,' Mr Horowitz told Sky News host Rita Panahi. 'You are hollowing out the power of their intent by saying that.'

Trump-Albanese meeting may decide future of US security ties: Peta Credlin
Sky News host Peta Credlin discusses the upcoming meeting between Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and US President Donald Trump, warning that Australia's security partnership with the US is 'at stake'. 'It's not over-dramatising things to say that it's not just the AUKUS nuclear deal which will be potentially at stake, but the entire US security partnership, our ANZUS foundation, that's at the heart of our defence and foreign policy and has been for seven decades,' Ms Credlin said. 'It's true our defence spending will glacially move up to 2.3 per cent of GDP in a decade's time … but that spending, the 2.3, is way, way too low. 'Whatever soothing words might emerge from the encounter between Trump and Albanese … it's hard to imagine the President not reiterating the 3.5 per cent demand, with his typical emphasis.'

Radical protestors across America using violence to ‘achieve their goals'
Sky News host Rita Panahi says radical left-wing protestors in the United States have 'no issues' with violence. Police have deployed tear gas and rubber bullets in Los Angeles as hundreds of thousands of protesters turned out across the US for 'No Kings' demonstrations organised to coincide with President Donald Trump's controversial military parade. 'Not only do they tolerate violence, they think it is a sound method to achieve their goals,' Ms Panahi said.
