Man who posted video of ex-wife backed with 'abusive' rap has jail sentence overturned
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, posted a video of four pictures on a loop, one of which showed his former wife in a swimsuit on a beach with her face distorted.

He had pleaded guilty in the District Court to breaching a safety order contrary to section 33(1) of the Domestic Violence Act 2018 on June 13th, 2024, but lodged an appeal against his sentence.
Garda Noel McBrearty told the District Court Appeals Court on Wednesday that gardaí received a report from the injured party that her former husband had breached a safety order.
He said that gardaí were made aware of a video posted to the man's Facebook page, which featured rap music playing over four images on a continuous loop.
Garda McBrearty said that the first image was of the injured party wearing a swimsuit on a beach, the second image featured the woman's new partner, the third showed a vehicle the woman had previously owned, and the fourth was another picture of the woman.

He said the injured party told him that the rap music had lyrics which were 'abusive in nature'.
Garda McBrearty said that all of the images had digitally distorted facial features, but the injured party was able to identify herself in the pictures.
Defence counsel for the man, Chloe Geraghty BL, said that her client recognised the 'stupidity' in posting the video on a public platform, although the woman was blocked from his page at the time.
She said that the man had a very difficult time accepting the relationship was over, but has now moved on.

Judge Christopher Callan told the defendant that he breached the safety order less than a month after it was issued, adding that he was not sure the man understood what he was obliged to do under the order.

The appellant told the judge that he now understands and apologised for his actions, adding that he will not do it again.
Judge Callan told the man that he was 'running out of road rapidly' but decided to suspend the sentence of four months for the period of 12 months on the condition that he keeps the peace and abides with the directions of the safety order to not to contact the injured party by any means.

UEFA granted extension of illegal streaming blocking order
UEFA, the governing body for European football associations, has been granted a court order extending for another two years a requirement that internet service providers block illegal streaming of its games. The order is similar to one granted last week to the Football Association Premier League, also extending the requirement to block the streams for its matches. Pubgoers near Clifton Suspension Bridge 'traumatised' after mistakenly offering to help killer who had victims' remains in suitcases
Members of the public have been left "traumatised" after mistakenly offering to help drive a double murderer over a bridge where he planned to dump the victims' bodies, police have revealed. Yostin Andres Mosquera was convicted on Monday of the murders of Paul Longworth and Albert Alfonso, who were killed in west London on 8 July 2024. After decapitating their bodies, the heads were stored in a freezer, while the other remains were put in suitcases. On 10 July, Mosquera hired a van with a driver to transport him and the bags to Clifton Suspension Bridge. Detective Chief Inspector Ollie Stride, from the Metropolitan Police, said people who had been watching a football match in a nearby pub, came outside and tried to help Mosquera, by offering to drive him over the bridge as they saw he was struggling with the heavy suitcases. "He told them he wanted to go to the other side of the bridge, which was only 150 yards from where he stood, but he couldn't see it," Detective Inspector Neil Meade, from Avon and Somerset Police, said. "They tried loading the suitcases into the back of their car and one of them commented: 'God, these are heavy, is there a body in there?'" DCI Stride said they "simply couldn't lift them into the cars so... they helped him order the taxi, that took him over using Google Translate because they couldn't communicate with him, [as] he spoke in Spanish". He added: "They've been really traumatised by the whole thing, obviously now understanding what had happened afterwards." The prosecution argued Mosquera went to Bristol with the intention of throwing the bags off the bridge. But Mosquera caught the attention of passers-by, telling them the cases contained car parts. Det Insp Meade praised the cyclist and said the image he took of Mosquera was "critical" for the investigation. "It gave us a lead to start with," he said. "It was an unbelievable piece of work by that member of the public. It was incredibly brave for the cyclist to intervene and have the presence of mind to get that footage on his phone." Police officers then attended the bridge and had to open the suitcases, which contained the torsos and limbs of Mr Alfonso and Mr Longworth. Det Insp Meade said: "When you sign up to join the police, you expect to see stuff that people in general society wouldn't see. "But nobody can prepare anybody, cop or not a cop, to see what those officers saw that night. "I've been doing this job for 29 years and I've never had to open a suitcase, not knowing what's in it, and there being a body in there." Mosquera had already run off and was later arrested at Bristol Temple Meads station on 13 July 2024 and charged with both murders.

Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White has not travelled with the squad for their pre-season camp in Portugal amid strong links with a move away from the club. Gibbs-White was set for a medical at Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month after Spurs were understood to have triggered his £60m release clause. However, Forest accused Spurs of an allegedly illegal approach for Gibbs-White - contacting the player directly before going to the club - and the protracted saga has failed to move on the weeks since. Forest are currently considering legal action against Spurs. The England international has now made himself notable for his absence from the travelling Forest pack, but it understood that this is not transfer related. He has instead not travelled with the rest of the squad due to a personal reason and is expected he will join up with the team later in the week. Gibbs-White had already returned to pre-season training with Forest last Monday and has trained again with the club since.
