Aamir Khan Reveals He Has Not Seen Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan And Jawan
Last Updated: Aamir Khan also revealed which of Salman Khan's films are his favourite. Aamir Khan recently attended an event for his upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par, where he discussed Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan's best works, according to his taste. Aamir revealed that he liked early SRK films like DDLJ, and that he hasn't watched his newer movies like Jawan and Pathaan. As for Salman, Aamir picked two films from different genres. Aamir Khan said, 'My favourite performances of Salman's are Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Dabangg. As for Shah Rukh, I really loved Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is one of my favourite films of his. I haven't seen his recent films Pathaan and Jawan." Sometime ago, Aamir teased that there might be a film with the three Khans together. He had said, 'Salman, Shah Rukh, and I would love to work together… We are waiting for the right script to come. I think the audience also wants to see us together, and we have discussed it as well. If any good story comes (our way), we will definitely do it." As for Aamir Khan's own work, his upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par, is facing controversy as fans have learnt that the film could be a 'frame-by-frame" copy of Champions, the English remake of the Spanish film, Campeones. Amid this row, Aamir Khan appeared on Raj Shamani's podcast and defended the idea of making remakes in Bollywood. Aamir Khan said, 'Laal Singh (Chaddha) ke baad, mujhe bohot logo ne bola ki aap phir remake bana rahe ho. Laal Singh mein bohot aapko trolling hui thi, ki aapne remake banayi, remake banayi. Lekin kya hai, main thoda pagal type ka aadmi hun, practical cheezein mujhe samajh mein nahi aati." He added, 'Mujhe koi problem nahi hai remake karne mein. Mujhe nahi lagta hai meri creativity kum ho rahi hai, at all. Kyunki main apne liye toh naya kaam kar raha hun. Kisi aur ne yeh kahani banayi hai, ab main isko apna nazariya de raha hun." Aamir Khan explained, 'Shakespeare ko main dobara kar raha hun, usmein apni jaan main daal raha hun. Toh remakes ka yeh jo discussion hai naa, yeh mujhe bohot fizool lagta hai. Aur isme main believe hi nahi karta hun." For the unversed, the trailer for Aamir Khan's film was released recently, and netizens quickly recognised that the scenes were the same as those of the English-language film. Champions is available for viewing on JioHotstar. The film's synopsis on the site reads, 'A disgraced coach mentors a team of intellectually disabled athletes, revealing their surprising abilities and changing his own life." The plot is similar to what is hinted at in Sitaare Zameen Par's trailer. First Published:

Bollywood's Shrinking Film Slate
There's a growing concern within the Hindi film industry — a visible slowdown in the number of films being made, especially headlined by Bollywood's A-list stars. The industry, known for its prolific output and constant stream of releases starring its biggest names, seems to be witnessing a worrying dip in activity. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now A quick look at the current line-up of projects reveals that very few top actors have multiple films on floors or up for release. Take for instance. After a blockbuster 2023 with Pathaan and Jawan, and Dunki, SRK currently has only one film in production — King, an action-packed venture co-starring his daughter Suhana Khan and directed by Siddharth Anand. The much-anticipated project has generated considerable buzz as he has put together names like Deepika Padukone, Rani MukerjiAbhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Jaideep Ahalawat and many more, but beyond this, Khan hasn't officially committed to any new titles, a surprising move for a superstar of his stature who once juggled multiple films in a year. , the perfectionist of Bollywood, is gearing up to release Sitaare Zameen Par, a film he has both produced and acted in. This marks his return to the screen after the debacle of Laal Singh Chaddha. Beyond this, his next collaboration with director Rajkumar Hirani — a biopic on cinema pioneer Dadasaheb Phalke — is in development but yet to go on floors, he also recent confirmed he's in talks with Lokesh Kanagaraj for a superhero film. , who has been on the lookout for a much-needed hit after the lukewarm response to Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan , Sikandar and Tiger 3, is slated to start work on his action entertainer with Apoorva Lakhia soon. However, this remains his only confirmed project for now. At a time when his box office standing is under scrutiny, the absence of a steady slate of films is striking. , is currently occupied with War 2, one of the most awaited action sequels with NTR Jr and Kiara Advani. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Parallelly, he's prepping for Krrish 4, a project he will both act in and direct. While this superhero saga has been long in the making, delays and scripting challenges have kept it from taking off. He's also signed a venture with Hombale Films , but its production schedule remains uncertain. Farhan Akhtar, primarily focusing on his production ventures, will be seen as an actor in 120 Bahadur, slated for release later this year. This film, based on a true story of bravery, is Farhan's only acting project at present. Ranveer Singh, another powerhouse performer, finds himself in a similar boat. He has Dhurandhar up for release, and his much-anticipated Don 3, which will see him take over the iconic franchise from Shah Rukh Khan, is expected to go on floors soon. Yet, compared to his previous years, his current line-up is rather sparse. , on the other hand, is oscillating between two mega projects — Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, where he plays Lord Ram, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love and War, a period epic also starring Alia Bhatt and . Both are ambitious, high-stakes ventures, . He also has Dhoom 4 directed by Ayan Mukerji and Animal Park with Sandeep Reddy Vanga on the list. , who has always maintained a consistent presence at the box office, has Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumar with Janhvi Kapoor releasing this year. Simultaneously, he's shooting for Border 2, an ensemble patriotic drama with , Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, and Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, a romantic comedy directed by David Dhawan featuring Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde. He also has No Entry Sequel with Arjun Kapoor and Diljit Dosanjh in the pipeline along with Luka Chuppi 2 with Sharvari. Among his contemporaries, Varun is one of the few actively juggling multiple projects. Kartik Aaryan too seems to be maintaining a busy calendar. He's working on Anurag Basu's next, romantic drama with Sreeleela, and has another film with Ananya Panday under Sameer Vidwans' direction. Kartik's strategy of balancing massy entertainers with content-driven projects has worked in his favour, and he appears to be among the rare actors with multiple projects in various stages of production. There is also has a fantasy film Nagzilla which he's signed with Karan Johar which will go on floor soon. Ajay Devgn stands out as one of the busiest stars in the industry at present. He has Son of Sardaar 2, De De Pyaar De 2, Dhamaal 4, Ranger, Drishyam 3, and Golmaal 5 either completed, in production, or ready to go on floors. Ajay has always believed in quantity as much as quality, and this line-up is a testament to his workhorse ethic. Sidharth Malhotra, who delivered a career-defining performance in Shershaah, currently has only Param Sundari up for release, he's also part of Vvan with which should hit the floors soon . He's in advanced talks for Race 4, a project that may pair him alongside Saif Ali Khan, but confirmations are Sunny Deol is experiencing a resurgence of sorts. After the record-breaking success of Gadar 2, he's released Jaat, wrapped up Lahore 1947, and will soon begin filming for Ramayana, where he's reportedly playing Hanuman. He also plans to headline an OTT series, marking his foray into the digital space. Abhishek Bachchan has signed on to play the antagonist in Shah Rukh Khan's King and will also be seen in Riteish Deshmukh's historical drama Raja Shivaji. While these are significant roles, Abhishek's overall filmography remains limited in terms of volume. Akshay Kumar, once the most prolific star in the business with four to five releases annually, has scaled back considerably. He has Housefull 5 slated for release, and though Welcome to the Jungle was announced and shot for some time , there's been no recent update on its progress. His horror-comedy Bhoot Bangla with Priyadarshan is complete, and he has also wrapped up Jolly LLB 3, directed by Subhash few days back there was a buzz about him teaming up with Siddharth Anand's production house for a film. Shahid Kapoor who is also on a lookout for a hit after the debacle of Deva has Vishal Bharadwaj's Arjun Ustara in the making, while he is expected to start shooting for Cocktail 2 with Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna soon- he alos has his OTT show Farzi 2 in the pipeline. Vicky Kaushal who delivered the biggest hit of the year with Chhaava also has just one film on the floor with Love & War with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. He is slated to start Mahavatar where he plays Lord Parshuram with director Amar Kaushik soon after he completes his shoot with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. who is also on a lookout for a success has Baaghi 4 in the makng with Sonam Bajwa and Snajay Dutt, while it was recently announced that eh would be seen with Janhvi Kapoor in Karan johar's next production venture. Rajkummar Raopost the sucess of Bhool Chuk Maaf has Maalik up for release and his home production Toaster up for OTT release. This current scenario paints a broader picture of how Bollywood's production pipeline has slowed down. Various factors are contributing to this trend — rising production costs, the evolving OTT landscape, audience fatigue, and the increased focus on high-concept, large-scale films that require longer production schedules. Actors too are becoming more cautious, opting for projects with solid scripts and clear commercial viability rather than signing multiple films merely to stay visible. The days when stars would have three or four releases in a year now seem like a distant memory. In its place is a more measured, risk-averse industry where even top-tier names are curating their line-ups carefully. While this might result in better-quality content, it also leads to reduced output and fewer films reaching theatres annually. Moreover, Bollywood's over-reliance on tentpole, franchise-based films has meant that newer, mid-budget stories struggle to find producers and release dates. With most actors tied up in elaborate sequels or period dramas, the space for experimental or smaller commercial films has shrunk considerably. Interestingly, this slowdown is also being entirely mirrored in regional industries, particularly in South cinema, where stars like Rajinikanth, Ram Charan, Prabhas,, Allu Arjun, and Jr. NTR have also limited themselves to 1 or 2 projects. In conclusion, while the slowdown might seem alarming at first glance, it could very well be an opportunity for the industry to focus on stronger scripts, thoughtful filmmaking, and meaningful cinema over sheer quantity. However, to keep the audiences engaged and the theatrical business alive, a more balanced approach with a healthy number of diverse releases is essential. Bollywood, after all, thrives on its ability to offer something for everyone, and it will need to work towards regaining that momentum soon.
