Lucien Laviscount would give the role of James Bond a "good shot". The 'Emily in Paris' star is among the names who have been rumoured to be replacing Daniel Craig as the next 007, and he says it would be a "special" gig should the part of the suave spy ever come his way. He told Best UK magazine: "I think Bond for anyone would be special, wouldn't it? "But whatever else presents itself, I'll take it with open arms." Asked if he thinks he would make a good Bond, he replied: "What do you think? (laughs). "It would be cool, and if the stars aligned, and it's meant to be this time round, I'm sure I'd give it a good old shot." James Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli recently made the shock decision to step back from the iconic film series. They've formed a new joint venture with Amazon MGM to house James Bond's intellectual property rights, while remaining co-owners of the franchise. Craig, who bowed out of playing 007 after being killed off in 2021 blockbuster 'No Time To Die', said of the news in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter: 'My respect, admiration and love for Barbara and Michael remain constant and undiminished. 'I wish Michael a long, relaxing (and well-deserved) retirement and whatever ventures Barbara goes on to do, I know they will be spectacular and I hope I can be part of them.' Former 007 Timothy Dalton - who played the role in 'The Living Daylights' and 'Licence to Kill' - hopes the studio doesn't try to change the franchise. He told RadioTimes.com: "It's a wonderful franchise. The movies have taken different courses over the years, but there is something very good about the original and I hope Amazon latch onto that and give us the kind of film that's brought so much excitement and fun to so many people. "Can you remember the first time you saw a Bond movie? You were a kid, right? Me too! And that's what got us going. "Anyway, good luck to them, I say. I do wish them all the very, very best. They'll be doing their best to make a lot of money, so hopefully they will make good movies."

But judging by the conversations at the Banff World Media Festival — both among content creators and acquisition execs and during panel and keynote speeches — global collaboration to create new partnerships and content across borders and tackle mutual financial challenges is the byword this week in the Canadian Rockies. I've never seen people all over the world — buyers, producers – more open to finding ways to get projects made and over the line,' Allison Wallach, head of unscripted programming at Fox Entertainment Studios, told a Banff fest panel on unscripted content. The discussion on the evolution of unscripted fare took place against the backdrop of Trump's talk of a foreign movie tariff quickly pivoting to a discussion of Americans possibly taking part in official international co-productions for the first time. And that plays directly into the wheelhouse of Canadian and other international producers that have been doing multi-passport films and TV series for decades. 'Deals I never thought I'd get away making, all of a sudden 50 percent of something is better than 100 percent of nothing,' Wallach added about recent dealmaking. Advertisement Sharon Scott, president, A+E Factual Studios, added during the unscripted content panel that global collaboration has moved from the sidelines to front and center for recent dealmaking. 'I love a coproduction. I didn't used to, but they definitely help on the financial side, and you make new friends and partners,' she said. Scott also touted the benefits of tapping film tax credits, including in Canada. 'Anything that can be done anywhere, should be done here,' she said of shooting content in Canada, whether TV shows or just expert interviews for an unscripted series. The result in Banff for an entertainment industry looking to cut content budgets and produce for and with the world was more deliberative conversations between potential partners. 'Everything is a conversation now. That's a really good thing. We just want to get the best content for our customers and we want to work with fantastic partners from all around the world to do that,' Anais Baker, head of international formats at Amazon MGM Studios, told the unscripted TV panel. Where else can we do co-productions? How can we cost save where it doesn't mean 'that's too Canadian,' versus look how amazing that was, and the cost was even better,' Di Mondo said. Folks who were around in the 1980s likely remember Remington Steele, the detective series featuring Pierce Brosnan as a private detective. The series, which ran from 1982 to 1987, likely helped set the stage for Brosnan's later emergence as James Bond. It certainly was a highlight of his early career. In Remington Steele, Brosnan played a suave former con man turned detective. And now Brosnan has revealed that a Remington Steele reboot has been kicked around. However, don't hold your breath as it seems far from certain. In a lengthy interview with The Hollywood Reporter on June 2, Brosnan was asked about the possibility of a Remington Steele reboot. The author asked Brosnan, "As studios and networks are now keen on revivals, have you ever given thought to or been approached by execs for a Remington Steele revival?" "They have brought it up in discussions, yes. Nothing's been done about it. So I've left it's (sic) just sitting there," he said to THR. According to Britannica, in 1986, with Remington Steele a success, Brosnan was chosen to take over the iconic Bond role from Roger Moore. However, his NBC contract "prevented him from accepting," so the role went to Timothy Dalton instead. The next year, though, Remington Steele ended. Brosnan would later get to play Bond. A return of Remington Steele would certainly be nostalgic for some fans. Brosnan starred in the show with actress Stephanie Zimbalist. She sometimes posts about the series on her Instagram page.
