Lucien Laviscount would give the role of James Bond a "good shot". The 'Emily in Paris' star is among the names who have been rumoured to be replacing Daniel Craig as the next 007, and he says it would be a "special" gig should the part of the suave spy ever come his way. He told Best UK magazine: "I think Bond for anyone would be special, wouldn't it? "But whatever else presents itself, I'll take it with open arms." Asked if he thinks he would make a good Bond, he replied: "What do you think? (laughs). "It would be cool, and if the stars aligned, and it's meant to be this time round, I'm sure I'd give it a good old shot." James Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli recently made the shock decision to step back from the iconic film series. They've formed a new joint venture with Amazon MGM to house James Bond's intellectual property rights, while remaining co-owners of the franchise. Craig, who bowed out of playing 007 after being killed off in 2021 blockbuster 'No Time To Die', said of the news in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter: 'My respect, admiration and love for Barbara and Michael remain constant and undiminished. 'I wish Michael a long, relaxing (and well-deserved) retirement and whatever ventures Barbara goes on to do, I know they will be spectacular and I hope I can be part of them.' Former 007 Timothy Dalton - who played the role in 'The Living Daylights' and 'Licence to Kill' - hopes the studio doesn't try to change the franchise. He told RadioTimes.com: "It's a wonderful franchise. The movies have taken different courses over the years, but there is something very good about the original and I hope Amazon latch onto that and give us the kind of film that's brought so much excitement and fun to so many people. "Can you remember the first time you saw a Bond movie? You were a kid, right? Me too! And that's what got us going. "Anyway, good luck to them, I say. I do wish them all the very, very best. They'll be doing their best to make a lot of money, so hopefully they will make good movies."

Filmmakers claim late ‘Superman' actor Christopher Reeve would have opposed Donald Trump

Late 'Superman' star Christopher Reeve would have spoken out against President Donald Trump if he were alive today, according to the filmmakers behind his documentary. 'Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story' directors Peter Ettedgui and Ian Bonhôte spoke to The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday about the actor's activist work, particularly for disability rights, after his tragic horse-riding accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down. Ettedgui pointed out that even prior to his accident, Reeve spoke on behalf of other issues, such as artistic expression and housing. 'There was a certain property developer in New York who wanted to develop a horrific modern-town plan, and Reeve led the objections to it,' Ettedgui said to The Hollywood Reporter. 'The property developer was, of course, Donald Trump.' The filmmakers added that actor Jeff Daniels, who worked with Reeve on Broadway in 1980, told them Reeve would have gone so far as to run against Trump. 'But he wouldn't have entered it for his own gain,' Bonhôte said. 'The way he was engaged with people was not just for alliance and power; he saw that things could be changed for the better for the American people.' 4 'Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story' directors Peter Ettedgui and Ian Bonhôte said that actor Jeff Daniels, who worked with Christopher Reeve on Broadway in 1980, told them Reeve would have to run against Trump. Danny DeVito almost took legal action over ‘It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' on-set incident

Never prank the prankster. Speaking recently to The Hollywood Reporter, Danny DeVito revealed that he once nearly took legal action against 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' after an on-set April Fool's Day prank went too far. 'We had one incident that was kind of a faux situation because — I didn't know it — but it was April 1st, and we were going to start shooting an episode that week,' DeVito, 80, said in the interview published Wednesday. 'We were ready to go, and the morning of, I got a phone call and somebody said to me, 'They're going to change up the first show, but they want you to read it before you come in.'' 7 Danny DeVito in 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.' 'They had all this planned, of course — the nut jobs I work with, who I love dearly — so I started reading [the script] and it was really, really bad,' DeVito explained. 'I was abused in this show to the point of, I can't even tell you. Midway through, I said, 'I'm not going to do this. There's no way I can do this. This is really crazy.'' 7 Danny DeVito leaving lunch in Los Angeles in 2016. KAT / Splash News DeVito said the end of the fake script involved his character, Frank Reynolds, surrounded by nightstick-wielding cops who throw him down to the ground — before one of the officers tells Frank: 'April Fool's motherf—er.' 'I realized at that time that they had me totally wrapped around their little finger,' DeVito told the outlet. 'I seriously was going to call my lawyer [and say], 'Lawsuit, no way!'' 7 Danny DeVito, Charlie Day, Rob McElhenney in 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.' We all went to some Upfront thing in Washington, and it was a big hotel packed with TV people,' the actor recalled. 'I got there early, and we all had rooms that FX had given us on our own, so I talked to the manager, and I said, 'Look, don't give them their rooms. Give me a small room with one bedroom and get me a bunch of cots and tell them that the place is filled.' The guy did it and he played it to the hilt.' 7 Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, Kaitlin Olson and Danny DeVito in 'It's Always Sunny.' Patrick McElhenney/FX DeVito continued, 'They were all in the room, and I was in a closet with a bottle of tequila and glasses watching them react to the fact that this guy is telling them there's no room in this hotel and this is the room that FX booked for them and they all had to sleep together on cots. Rob [Mac] got on the phone. He was going to call the big shots, and then I came out of the closet. I had 'em good.' 7 Danny DeVito as his 'It's Always Sunny' character in 'Abbott Elementary.' Following the Season 17 finale, DeVito was asked by THR how'd he feel if the show ends with next season. 'Well, as long as we have a good ending — I don't know what the ending could be, they probably have one already figured out in their head,' he said. 'It would be hard to let go, but if it's right and the audience is happy with it, then I think it's a good thing to do.'

Glen Powell has surprising reason why he refuses to play James Bond

Though Glen Powell has taken on many roles, there's one he's staying far away from. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the 36-year-old actor — who is currently promoting his upcoming sports comedy series "Chad Powers" — explained why he "should not" be cast as the next James Bond. "I'm Texan. A Texan should not play James Bond," he said. "My family and I joke around, I can play Jimmy Bond, but I should not be playing James Bond." "Get an authentic Brit for that job," he added. "That's who belongs in that tuxedo." While Powell has seemingly taken his name out of the mix, Pierce Brosnan — who portrayed 007 from 1995 until 2002 — wouldn't be opposed to returning to the James Bond franchise after Denis Villeneuve signed onto the project. During a recent interview with the Radio Times, Brosnan joked, "I don't think anyone wants to see a craggy, 72-year-old Bond, but if Villeneuve had something up his sleeve I would look at it in a heartbeat." "Why not? It's great entertainment. It could be lots of laughs. Bald caps, prosthetics… who knows?" Brosnan starred in four Bond films – "GoldenEye," "Tomorrow Never Dies," "The World Is Not Enough" and "Die Another Day." The actor admitted he and his wife have been on the lookout for Amazon's big casting reveal ever since the streamer took over full creative control of the iconic franchise from the Broccoli family in February. Amazon initially acquired the distribution rights to the Bond films in 2022 after purchasing MGM. "I have been listening to the drumbeat of expectation of who's going to be the next James Bond," Brosnan told the outlet. "There are many great candidates out there, and I'm sure they're going to make it a spectacle of delight."
