These Moms Got Real About The Most Unhinged Things They Did Postpartum

From hitting a frog with a stick to put an end to sleep interruptions, to smashing plates and making coffee for the baby, here's what they had to say. When I was newly postpartum with my daughter Alma, I suffered through the same sleepless nights everyone else does with a new baby. But she loved long nursing sessions when she was a newborn, sometimes as long as 40 minutes. Time stopped having meaning. It was just us, sitting in the recliner, for what felt like forever in the pitch black, silent night. That's when I started having a waking nightmare that a woman with stringy, greasy black hair and grey, rotting skin, wearing a tattered white nightgown was in the room with us. I never screamed, I never moved from the recliner—I knew it wasn't real—I just sort of…accepted this terrifying presence. When Alma started sleeping through the night, the nightmare simply dissolved—and I never had it again. I know it sounds strange, but it still seems like a good example of how the postpartum brain works—you are in your own world, almost trance-like, tired to the point that you sometimes don't even feel human and your anxiety manifests in ways that would sound outlandish at any other point in a person's life. So I certainly sympathized with all the moms in the comments on an Instagram post asking them what the most 'unhinged' thing they did or that happened to them postpartum—and the commenters did not disappoint. Moms Share Their Most 'Unhinged' Postpartum Experiences Responses ranged from poignant to hilarious—after all, learning how to take care of a whole new human while still healing physically and emotionally is an experience that often hits both those emotional notes all in the space of a day. 'I walked to the coffee shop down the street and realized I was wearing only the baby in the carrier on top. No shirt. No bra. Just the baby,' wrote one commenter. Another revealed that she woke up so tired from a night of baby care that she made two cups of coffee in the morning: 'One for me, one for the baby.' Another mom highlighted the anxiety-driven attachment many new parents have to their babies, writing that she 'Made my husband stand in the bathroom holding the baby while I showered so I could see the baby at all times.' One mom revealed her method for dealing with interruptions to those precious moments of sleep she was able to get: 'Went outside at 3 a.m. in a bathrobe to hit a bush with a stick repeatedly because a frog kept croaking outside my window and desperately needed to sleep,' she wrote. As for coping with the frustrations and stress of raising a baby? This mom shared that she bought a stack of plates, and whenever she reached her limit, she 'went outside and smashed one.' Sounds pretty smart, actually."Made my husband stand in the bathroom holding the baby while I showered so I could see the baby at all times." @missamykatherine on IGWhy It Is So Important to Share Our Postpartum Stories Of course, the postpartum period can lead to scary symptoms like depression that need to be treated by the new mom's doctor and a mental health professional. But sometimes it's actually healthy to look back on that time in your life with a light-hearted sense of humor, and to forgive yourself for making mistakes or doing something potentially silly or embarrassing. Sharing these moments takes courage, but it also helps other parents see that no matter how strange they think their postpartum experience might have been, there is always another mom out there who has been right where you are, and understands just how you feel—even if no one else around you does. This sense of camaraderie and community these stories provide to new parents should not be undervalued: Trading shame for openness with each other helps us all feel seen—and acknowledges the often unspoken struggles that go along with new parenthood. Intelligent Diva Set to Release 'Run Me My Money' Single and Launch Tech-Infused AI Fashion Suit Collection

JACKSONVILLE, FL, UNITED STATES, July 25, 2025 / / -- Independent recording artist and creative visionary Intelligent Diva will debut her highly anticipated new single, 'Run Me My Money,' on July 25, 2025, under her independent label, Diva Underground Records. The single, written by Chincia (professionally known as Intelligent Diva), represents a powerful blend of strategy, resilience, and creative reinvention. The song was originally written in 2023 and scheduled for release in 2024. After spending money on production, graphics, and licensing, the release fell through due to external delays outside of Chincia's control. Not one to waste investments or let obstacles block progress, she took action. She reached out to SFR Beats, requesting beats that matched the key and BPM of her original vocal performance. The beat ultimately selected wasn't even intended for 'Run Me My Money,' but matched her energy and tempo perfectly — leading to a new hook, a refined version of her original verses, and a fresh creative vision for the project. The result? A complete relaunch — fully aligned with a strategy she could control from start to finish. Music, Fashion, and Tech — Brought Together Virtually In parallel with the music release, Intelligent Diva is launching a fashion design concept called 'The Run Me My Money Suit Collection,' created entirely with her proprietary AI tool, IDM AI Contour Architect GPT. The suits are not just stylish — they're bold, confident, and designed for individuals who 'own the room.' Collection Design Concept & Value Overview: 15–20 suit designs multiple versions in size and color Entry-level collection value (45 units × $150) $6,750 High-end collection value (100 units × $400–$500) $40,000–$50,000 Marketing asset potential (with fashion/music/events) $75K–$100K+ (with brand collaboration) While the suits are still in the design concept phase, Chincia is seeking a white-label partnership or collaboration with a larger fashion brand to bring the concept to life. About IDM AI Contour Architect (Proprietary GPT) Built by Chincia, IDM AI Contour Architect GPT is a proprietary fashion campaign automation tool that functions as a virtual creative director. The GPT handles: Custom fashion design concepts with trend research Blog and SEO writing B2B pitch deck creation Campaign content assets and visual direction Support for virtual storefronts, lookbooks, and showrooms Cost Comparison: Traditional Expense Estimated Cost Campaign Direction $5,000 Visual Asset Design $2,500 SEO Copywriting $3,000 Pitch Deck Creation $2,500 Total Without AI $13,000+ Using IDM AI Contour Architect GPT, Chincia executes campaigns at a fraction of the cost — while retaining full creative control and originality. Bringing It to Life With AI and Originality While 'Run Me My Money' was not created using AI, Chincia used her other proprietary tool, Scoreflow GPT, to create additional original music compositions for the fashion show. Scoreflow GPT helps: Compose music for film and TV Generate AI artist personas, bios, and vocal arrangements. Sync scoring and music branding. All assets — from concept visuals to campaign materials — were built virtually. In states like Florida, executing a multi-channel launch like this with physical vendors could cost well over $150,000, depending on the region. Thanks to her virtual-first approach, Chincia cut those costs dramatically while delivering a highly polished release. Merch, Music & Media Access The only physical merchandise available for this release includes the 'I CANNOT' and 'CCT' t-shirts featured in the pre-show content, both available at IDM Merch Boutique. The official Run Me My Money Fashion Show will debut the same day as the single, streaming on YouTube, Vimeo, and Roku TV (IDMTV). This release marks another chapter in Chincia's mission to merge music, fashion, and AI innovation — and to prove that creatives can lead in the tech revolution without compromising vision or quality. NY Film Festival Sets ‘After the Hunt' as Opening Night Movie

The 2025 New York Film Festival has selected Luca Guadagnino's After the Hunt as its opening night film. The movie — which stars Julia Roberts, Ayo Edebiri and Andrew Garfield — will receive its North American premiere at New York's Alice Tully Hall on Friday, Sept. 26. More from The Hollywood Reporter Venice Strikes Back: Alberto Barbera on His Powerhouse 2025 Festival Lineup A Cornered Julia Roberts Confronts Dark Past in 'After The Hunt' Trailer Taylor Kitsch to Star in 'Eleven Days' Prison Hostage Thriller After the Hunt, from Amazon MGM Studios, follows Roberts' Yale philosophy professor Alma whose personal and professional lives are disrupted after her PhD candidate protégée Maggie (Edebiri) accuses Alma's longtime friend and colleague Henrik (Andrew Garfield) of sexual assault. Exploring the murkiness of contemporary morality, the film sees Alma navigating minefields of gender, sexuality, race and institutional power, as she attempts to reconcile her choices with past demons. Directed by Guadagnino from a script by Nora Garrett, After the Hunt also stars Michael Stuhlbarg and Chloë Sevigny. After the Hunt just earlier this week was selected for the 2025 Venice Film Festival and is set to be released in theaters in New York and L.A. on Oct. 10 before expanding on Oct. 17. Guadagnino's Call Me by Your Name, Bones and All and Queer all screened as part of past New York Film Festivals. 'I have always found the New York Film Festival to be an arbiter of global cinema. For over 60 years it has been a festival that makes audiences open their minds and hearts to the most daring and compelling global cinema from both established and emerging filmmakers,' Guadagnino said in a statement. 'To be invited to open the 63rd edition is a tremendous responsibility and honor. I, alongside the incredible cast and crew and our companions at Amazon MGM Studios who made After the Hunt possible, am elated and thrilled to bring to New York our tale of morality and power. My most heartfelt thanks to Dennis Lim and the singular NYFF team.' NYFF artistic director Lim added, 'We are excited to open this year's festival with Luca Guadagnino's latest, which confirms his status as one of the most versatile risk-takers working today. Brilliantly acted and crafted, After the Hunt is something rare in contemporary cinema: a complex, grown-up movie with a lot on its mind that also happens to be a deeply satisfying piece of entertainment.'
