The board conducted the Class 12 board examination from February 15 to April 4, 2025. The exam was conducted in single shifts from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm on all days.
Recently, the CBSE announced a change in its post-result activities, allowing students to obtain photocopies of answer sheets before applying for verification/re-evaluation. In the previous system, students applied for verification of marks first, followed by applying for photocopies of answer sheets and then re-evaluation of their results.
According to CBSE the new system will allow students to see their answer sheets before applying for re-checking which will give them clarity on the marks awarded, specific comments and any errors made.
'A candidate after obtaining photocopy of evaluated answer book in the first step can decide whether to opt for Verification of marks which entails posting/totaling of marks or any unevaluated questions or Re-evaluation whereby the candidate requests for re-evaluation of a question or questions thereof. A candidate can apply for either Verification of marks or Re-evaluation or both as per due procedure after obtaining-photocopy of answer book,' CBSE said.

(Deepak Gupta/HT Photo) The start of 'School Chalo Abhiyan phase 2 - aimed at bringing children between the age 6 and 14 years to schools- saw a festival-like atmosphere. Public awareness about school enrolment was promoted through digital platforms and special emphasis was laid on participation of girls. As part of initiatives towards environmental protection, tree plantation programmes were organised in schools under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign. The second phase of the campaign, launched by the basic education department, will continue till July 15. It is crucial because there has been a sharp decline in student enrolment, with 48 lakh fewer students in government primary and upper primary schools in the 2025-26 session compared to last year when enrolment was pegged at 1.48 crore students. UP basic education minister Sandeep Singh said: 'The second phase of 'School Chalo Abhiyan' by the UP government has started in a festive atmosphere. It is being run with the resolve to ensure door-to-door contact, special focus on enrolment of girls and access to children deprived of school. We are ensuring that no child is left behind in the new academic session.' In Lucknow, all the 47 students enrolled at primary school in Ahmamau turned up on Tuesday, as per the school's MDM register, said assistant teacher Sarika. Only one-third of students were present at the primary school, Mirzapur, in Gosainganj area of Lucknow. Out of 63, some 20-odd students were present, said head teacher Abha Sonkar. At the primary school in Tandola, located in the Marauri block of Pilibhit district, students were garlanded and applied 'roli chandan' on the first day of school, according to a post on X by the UP basic education department. APPEAL TO PARENTS In primary school, Amkheda, in Jalaun district, teachers and children issued a digital appeal and requested the community to send their children to school. This innovation became an example to inspire social participation towards education. 'BETI PADHE, PRADESH BADHE' Girls were warmly welcomed in all Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV) of the state, including Lakhimpur Kheri, Varanasi, Ambedkarnagar, Unnao, Sultanpur and Jaunpur. Under the leadership of the Yogi government, special priority is being given to the education of girls. PLANTATION & OTHER PROGRAMMES While Shiksha Yatra started with the worship of Maa Sharda in Block Kalan composite school, Jakhiya, in Shahjahanpur, students were welcomed with a petal shower and 'tilak' in schools located in Karimpur, Ayodhya. The message of education was conveyed to people through rallies, wall writings and cultural events from Prayagraj to Saharanpur. Newly admitted students were welcomed with 'roli-tika' and garlands at Adarsh Samvilian Vidyalay, Prayagraj. Books and stationery were distributed by chief guest, chief development officer Harshika Singh (IAS). She flagged off the children's rally and planted trees like Rudraksh, Parijat, Maulshree, Mahogany, etc, under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign. The new session commenced at Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Schools, which were established to provide a brighter future for meritorious students from underprivileged, rural, and backwards communities across UP. Ludhiana: Only 9 girl students join state schools under reserved quota

Jun 30, 2025 10:53 PM IST Only nine girls secured admission during the second round of counselling held under the reserved category for the Senior Secondary Residential Schools for Meritorious Students on Monday. The admitted girls are from reserved categories of women headed households (WHH), private school students, and specially-abled candidates, from Ludhiana. Students during counselling for admissions into Class 11 of state meritorious school at the Ludhiana centre on Monday. (Manish/HT) Vishal Kumar, MIS coordinator, informed that the eight girl students from private schools secured admission at various meritorious schools through the Ludhiana centre. Among them, one student was admitted to the commerce stream at Ludhiana Meritorious School, six students were allocated seats at SAS Nagar school, with five opting for the non-medical stream and one for commerce, and another student chose the non-medical stream at Talwara school. Additionally, one girl student was admitted under the WHH category. The eligibility criteria for reserved categories require SC/ST candidates to have minimum 65% marks in Class 10, while other reserved categories must meet a 70% threshold. Moreover, only Class 10 certificates downloaded from the Punjab School Education Board's DigiLocker portal, properly signed and stamped by the school principal, are accepted for verification. To encourage diversity, 10% of seats in meritorious schools are reserved for students from recognised private and aided schools in Punjab. However, principal Satwant Kaur of Ludhiana Meritorious School revealed that around 90 seats across all the categories are still vacant at the Ludhiana centre. 'We expect these seats to be filled in the upcoming round of counselling, which will be announced soon,' she said. Kaur added that no students from the differently-abled category attended the counselling at Ludhiana. 'The final number of students admitted here will only be clear once they officially join the school,' she stated.
