Pogacar wins the UAE Tour with mountain break

Tadej Pogacar rounded off his overall victory of the UAE Tour with a solo stage win on the Jabel Hafeet mountain on Sunday.
The 26-year-old swept all before him in 2024 taking a rare Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and world championships triple, and the UAE Tour was his first outing on 2025.
Pogacar attacked early on the 10km culminating climb to finish 33sec ahead on the day.
"I didn't want to be surprised by a counter attack or anything. It was better to go at my own pace," the Slovenian explained.
Italian climber Giulio Ciccone of Lidl-Trek was second Sunday and second overall at 1min 14sec, with Spanish rider Pello Bilbao of Bahrain coming third overall.
Pogacar dominated the week-long race after coming third in Tuesday's time trial and then winning the first of two mountain stages on Wednesday.
Riding for the UAE Emirates Team, Pogacar picked up his 90th win here and was already looking ahead to his busy spring one-day classics campaign.
"Now I won't take part in any stage race until June so I will switch my mind to one-day classics and I hope to do well there," he said.
Italian sprinter Jonathan Milan, also of Lidl-Trek, laid down a season marker in the stages that ended with bunch finishes with two wins and the overall points jersey ahead of Belgian Quick Step rider Tim Merlier.
Josh Tarling of Ineos had led the young rider standings since winning the stage two time trial but dropped down to 10th on Sunday with Movistar's Ivan Romeo, 23, taking the white jersey.

French Open 2025: How to Watch, Stream Musetti vs. Alcaraz Free From Anywhere

Defending champ Carlos Alcaraz will be aiming to book his place in a second successive French Open final as he takes on Italian star Lorenzo Musetti today in this last-four clash. Below, we'll outline the best live TV streaming services to use to watch the match as it happens, wherever you are in the world, and how to use a VPN if it's not available where you are. Four-time Grand Slam winner Alcaraz looks in good form for a fifth major title after brushing aside America's Tommy Paul with an 6-0 6-1 6-4 straight sets victory on Tuesday. Musetti meanwhile had a tougher ride to today's semifinal, after playing out a tense 6-2 4-6 7-5 6-2 victory over Frances Tiafoe in a match that could have seen the world number 8 disqualified for unsportsmanlike conduct. This semifinal clash takes place on Court Philippe Chatrier at Roland Garros in Paris on Friday, June 6. The game is set to get underway no earlier than 2:30 p.m. CET local time in France. This makes it an 8:30 a.m. ET or 5:30 a.m. PT start in the US and Canada, and a 1:30 p.m. BST start in the UK. For tennis fans in Australia, the match is set to get underway at 10:30 p.m. AEST. See at Max How to watch the French Open free from anywhere with a VPN If you find yourself unable to view the tournament locally, you may need a different way to watch -- that's where using a VPN can come in handy. A VPN is also the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds on game day by encrypting your traffic. It's also a great idea if you're traveling and find yourself connected to a Wi-Fi network and you want to add an extra layer of privacy for your devices and logins. With a VPN, you're able to virtually change your location on your phone, tablet or laptop to get access to the game. So if your internet provider or mobile carrier has stuck you with an IP address that incorrectly shows your location in a blackout zone, a VPN can correct that problem by giving you an IP address in your correct, nonblackout area. Most VPNs, like our Editors' Choice, ExpressVPN, make it really easy to do this. Using a VPN to watch or stream sports is legal in any country where VPNs are legal, including the US, UK and Canada, as long as you have a legitimate subscription to the service you're streaming. You should be sure your VPN is set up correctly to prevent leaks: Even where VPNs are legal, the streaming service may terminate the account of anyone it deems to be circumventing correctly applied blackout restrictions.
