Two Aryan Aviation officials booked after Rudraprayag helicopter crash kills seven
Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], June 15 (ANI): Following the helicopter crash in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district that claimed seven lives, a case has been registered against two officials of Aryan Aviation, the company that operated the helicopter, officials said on Sunday. Police have filed a case against Kaushik Pathak, the Accountable Manager, and Vikas Tomar, the Manager of Aryan Aviation, under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 10 of the Aircraft Act, they said. Section 105 pertains to culpable homicide not amounting to murder, while Section 10 deals with penalties for violating aircraft safety regulations. Aryan Aviation's Bell 407 helicopter operating in the 'Shri Kedarnath Ji - Aryan Helipad, Guptkashi' sector crashed near Gaurikund, according to a statement from the Ministry of Civil Aviation. The ministry said that preliminary indications suggest that the probable cause of the crash may be Controlled Flight into Terrain (CFIT), with the helicopter reportedly airborne despite poor visibility and extensive clouding at the valley entry area. The exact cause will be determined through a detailed investigation by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB). The crash resulted in the deaths of all seven people on board, including five adults, one infant, and one crew member. FIR against Bengal BJP chief for ‘hurling slipper', Sikh leaders seek apology
An FIR has been registered against Union minister and state BJP president Sukanta Majumdar at Kalighat police station in Kolkata for allegedly throwing a slipper at a Sikh official. The FIR, based on a complaint by local Sikh community members, has been lodged under BNS sections 208 (offence of non-attendance in obedience to an order from a public servant) 302 (offence of intentionally hurting religious feelings), 115(2) (deals with the offense of voluntarily causing hurt). Accusing the Union minister of 'deliberate and intentional act', the members of the Sikh community demanded an apology from the BJP leader, saying they were 'deeply hurt and disappointed by the incident'. Majumdar, however, dismissed the charge, saying it was not a slipper, but only a 'slipper-shaped paper' that was used to hit the police, and alleged that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was behind the protest by the Sikh community leaders. The incident reportedly took place on June 12 when BJP leaders led by Majumdar were detained near the Chief Minister's residence in the Kalighat area after they were stopped from visiting violence-hit Mahestala in South 24 Parganas. A purported video of the incident has gone viral on social media. The Sikh community leaders alleged that the BJP was purposely doing selectively against the community, and cited the farm protest in Punjab. Claiming that the incident was an accident, Majumdar said the person on whose head the 'paper-cut' fell was part of his security detail and that he intended to throw the paper at the police. Did he file a complaint, he asked.

Farmer tries to set BJP MLA's residence on fire over unpaid crop compensation
1 2 3 4 Buldhana: A 25-year-old farmer from Bawanbir village in Sangrampur tehsil attempted to storm and allegedly set afire the bungalow of BJP MLA and former minister Sanjay Kute in Jalgaon Jamod citing non-receipt of compensation for crop losses due to excess rainfall in 2022 and 2024. The farmer, Vishal Sudhakar Murukh, claiming to have completed documentation and KYC procedures for availing the compensation, entered Kute's 'Trupti Villa' residence with a petrol can at around 7.45pm on Friday, and threatened to burn the house down, said police. Kute was not present at the residence during the incident. His personal assistant, Prakash Raut, stopped the farmer and later filed a police complaint at Jalgaon Jamod police station. Police registered a case under BNS Sections 333 and 351(2) and took Murukh into custody. Sources said that Murukh had previously issued a threat on social media about burning down the MLA's residence if the relief amount was not credited soon. He alleged that despite submitting documents multiple times to the Sangrampur tehsil office and completing his bank KYC, no compensation was provided.
