New Delhi, Jun 17 (PTI) Gold prices declined by Rs 1,200 to Rs 1,00,170 per 10 grams in the national capital on Tuesday due to continuous selling by jewellers and stockists in line with weak global trends, according to the All India Sarafa Association.
'Gold corrected further on Tuesday as traders reevaluated the likelihood of a full-scale regional war between Israel and Iran. This shift follows reports suggesting that Iran is actively pursuing a diplomatic resolution to its escalating conflict with Israel.
'The potential for a fragile truce has fostered a bearish sentiment among gold traders,' Saumil Gandhi, Senior Analyst – Commodities at HDFC Securities, said.

Meanwhile, spot silver went up 0.44 per cent to USD 36.47 per ounce in the international markets.
Kalantri further said silver prices also came off day's high ahead of the US Federal Reserve's monetary policy meeting. However, global uncertainty and geopolitical tensions could support the prices of precious metals.

It indicates listing gains for investors on June 20, the tentative listing date. The GMP is based on market sentiments and keeps changing. 'Grey market premium' indicates investors' readiness to pay more than the issue price. Oswal Pumps IPO Listing Date The shares of Oswal Pumps Ltd will be listed on both BSE and NSE on June 20, 2025. Oswal Pumps IPO: Final Subscription Status, Other Details The IPO is a combination of a fresh issue of shares valued at Rs 890 crore and an offer-for-sale (OFS) of 81 lakh stocks worth Rs 497.34 crore at the upper end of the price band, by promoter Vivek Gupta. This aggregates the issue size at Rs 1,387.34 crore. The initial public offering was open for subscription between June 13 and June 17. The Rs 1,387.34-crore mainboard IPO received a strong 34.42 times subscription, garnering bids for 55,80,42,696 shares as against 1,62,12,980 shares on offer. The retail and NII participation stood at 3.60 times and 36.70 times, respectively. Its qualified institutional buyer (QIB) category got a 88.08 times subscription. The IPO received subdued response on Day 1 and Day 2 with 0.42 times and 1.65 times subscriptions, respectively. However, it received a massive response on the final day of bidding amid higher participation from NIIs (who invest more than Rs 2 lakh) and QIBs (which include mutual funds). The price band was fixed in the range of Rs 584-614 apiece. Most analysts gave 'subscribe for long-term' rating to the IPO. They said Oswal Pumps is one of India's fastest-growing names in solar-powered solutions, and reported a CAGR of 45.1% between FY22 and FY24. The company is expected to grow at a rate of 11% in the next five years. However, the analysts also mentioned some risks, including the company's dependent on its top-10 customers (who account for nearly 80% of revenue from operations), government funding changes or policy changes (as the significant portion of Oswal Pumps' revenue is derived from turnkey solar pumping systems under PM-KUSUM), and the concentration of all of its manufacturing facilities at one place (Karnal, Haryana). The company recorded one of the highest EBITDA margins among peers in FY24 (30.1% in 9MFY25), up from 10.7% in FY22, showcasing clear operating leverage gains. However, competition from established peers and its dependency on tenders for its revenue, remain key risk factors to consider. Oswal Pump's competitors include Kisloskar Brothers, Shakti Pumps, WPIL, and Roto Pumps. Oswal Pumps plans to utilise the IPO proceeds for capital expenditure (Rs 89.86 crore), investment in subsidiary Oswal Solar for new units in Karnal (Rs 272.76 crore), repayment of company borrowings (Rs 280 crore), repayment of Oswal Solar's loans (Rs 31 crore), and towards general corporate purposes. top videos View all IIFL Securities, Axis Capital, CLSA India, JM Financial, and Nuvama Wealth Management are the book-running lead managers to the issue. Hindustan Zinc shares slide 15% in 6 days. Should you buy the dip?
Shares of Hindustan Zinc dropped as much as 6.3% on Wednesday to Rs 455.35 on the BSE, deepening a six-session slide that has wiped out nearly 15% of its market value. The selloff comes just as the company is laying out a multi-year expansion plan, sparking a divide amongst Dalal Street brokerages over whether the current correction is a buying opportunity or a sign to stay cautious. Hindustan Zinc's board has approved a major growth capex of Rs 12,000 crore, aimed at adding 250,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) of smelting capacity at Debari, Rajasthan, along with a 330ktpa increase in mining and milling capacity. The project is expected to be executed over FY26–FY28 and is part of the company's long-term goal to double its production capacity. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 3BHK Transformation Possible for ₹4.5 Lakh? HomeLane Get Quote JM Financial maintained its 'buy' rating and raised the target price of Rs 550, from Rs 530 earlier, while backing the company's expansion, describing it as a 'strategic step toward doubling capacity' and noting the company's strong fundamentals. 'We remain positive on HZL given its presence in the lower end of the global cost curve facilitated by high-grade captive mines sufficient to meet requirements for decades, 100% captive power plants, [and] sizeable scale,' the brokerage said. JM Financial also highlighted the increasing contribution from silver to overall revenues. According to JM, the company expects to increase smelting capacity from 1,129ktpa to 1,379ktpa and mined metal capacity from 1,180ktpa to 1,510ktpa. Silver refining capacity is set to rise to 830ktpa. About Rs 62 billion of the total capex is allocated to smelter development, with a per-ton cost of $2,500, significantly below the global average of $3,500, the brokerage noted. Live Events Crucially, JM said that post-expansion, revenue could rise to Rs 400–430 billion with EBITDA in the Rs 210–220 billion range. The company expects its cost of production to fall to around USD 1,000 per tonne, aided by captive power and scale efficiencies. Motilal Oswal took a more measured view, keeping its 'neutral' rating with a target price of Rs 480, slightly below the current market price. The brokerage acknowledged the expansion aligns with long-term goals and improves cost competitiveness, but said much of the upside is already reflected in current valuations. 'At CMP, HZL trades at 8.5x FY27E EV/EBITDA, and we believe the current valuation prices in all positive factors,' Motilal Oswal said. Motilal expects the company's revenue to rise from Rs 341 billion in FY25 to Rs 400–420 billion post-expansion, with EBITDA increasing from Rs 174 billion to Rs 210–220 billion. A further scale-up to 2 million tpa of refined metal capacity in phase II could push EBITDA to Rs 340–360 billion, depending on market conditions. The brokerage also pointed out that current utilisation of existing capacity stands at 93%, indicating that the company already operates efficiently. Promoter overhang adds to market caution Investor sentiment also took a hit after CNBC-TV18 reported on Tuesday that promoter Vedanta is looking to offload up to Rs 7,500 crore worth of shares in Hindustan Zinc through block deals. The shares were reportedly being offered at a discount of up to 10% to the previous closing price, with DAM Capital and Citi managing the deal. Vedanta currently holds a 63.4% stake in Hindustan Zinc. While the company has not officially confirmed the transaction, the report has raised concerns of near-term supply overhang in the stock, adding to the market's caution around the timing of the expansion-led capex.
