Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Milwaukee Bucks have felt comfortable with their ability to keep Giannis Antetokounmpo throughout this summer. After reports emerged that Antetokounmpo was open to being moved this offseason for the first time in his career, efforts to keep him looked bleak. Teams have been waiting to see how this situation unfolds before they figure out exactly what their plans are for the offseason. Several teams would be interested in trading for him. ESPN's Shams Charania described what the Bucks are telling him. "But they're telling Giannis: we'll give you more control, more touches, more creation responsibility. They believe they can compete in the Eastern Conference. Whether that's true or not, that's what they're selling him." "You essentially take somewhat of a gap year, retool this team, and push again next year. From my understanding, Jon Horst and Doc Rivers genuinely believe this team can make a run, especially if Giannis fully buys in." The Bucks still think that they can compete in a very easy Eastern Conference next season if Antetokounmpo comes back. They believe that, even without Damian Lillard available for most of the season. They think that Antetokounmpo is good enough to carry the team. More NBA on Newsweek: Pacers Plan for Myles Turner Reportedly Revealed Milwaukee has to show Antetokounmpo that they are willing to improve the roster around him in a couple of seasons once Lillard returns from his injury. Right now, it's tough for the Bucks to improve the roster too much heading into next season because of the cap situation they are in. Of course, nothing can be planned for until Antetokounmpo gives them some indication of what he's thinking. While there is a chance that he waits until after free agency to make a firm choice, the team can still show how committed they are to winning more titles. This season, Antetokounmpo averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game. He shot 60.1 percent from the field and 22.2 percent from beyond the three-point arc. Caitlin Clarks invokes choke celebration while taking in Pacers' Game 3 NBA Finals win

Reggie Miller, Tyrese Haliburton and now … Caitlin Clark. Sitting courtside at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for Game 3 of the NBA Finals, the Fever guard became the latest Indiana basketball superstar to invoke Miller's legendary choke celebration — even if she wasn't playing in the game herself. When cameras panned to Clark during the first half, the Iowa product couldn't resist doing the celebration, which Miller famously used to taunt the Knicks after his Pacers won Game 5 of the 1994 Eastern Conference finals. 3 Caitlin Clark breaks out Reggie Miller's choke celebration from the 1994 Eastern Conference finals against the Knicks. IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect Haliburton paid homage to that legendary moment in Game 1 of this year's conference finals against the Knicks, pulling it out after hitting his ridiculous shot that forced overtime and led to an eventual Indiana win. At this point, the celebration is synonymous not just with Miller but with the Pacers and Indiana basketball as a whole. Clark breaking it out could have been premature, since the Pacers and Thunder were locked in a back-and-forth battle for most of the game, but Indiana came through with a 116-107 win behind a terrific fourth quarter. 3 Tyrese Haliburton invoked Reggie Miller's choke celebration in Game 1 of the 2025 Eastern Conference finals. AP Still, the choke celebration might have been more apt during the Pacers' stunning Game 1 win in Oklahoma City, with Indiana trailing by double digits for much of the game before storming back late and stealing a 111-110 win on a go-ahead jumper from Haliburton with 0.3 seconds remaining. Clark has been sidelined with a left quad strain since May 24, but the 23-year-old — who is close friends with Haliburton — has made plenty of cameos at Gainbridge Fieldhouse throughout the Pacers' run to the Finals. In fact, Indiana is 8-0 in playoff games this year with Clark in attendance. 3 Reggie Miller claps during Game 3 of the NBA Finals on June 11. Kyle Terada-Imagn Images Clark will have an opportunity to make another appearance at Game 4 on Friday night, when Indiana will look to take a commanding 3-1 series lead against the Thunder. And perhaps Clark will break out the choke celebration once she returns to the court with the upstart Fever, who are hoping for their own magical playoff run in September.

Sixers legend goes off on Knicks over Tom Thibodeau situation

Sixers legend goes off on Knicks over Tom Thibodeau situation The New York Knicks made a shocking decision to fire coach Tom Thibodeau despite the team reaching the Eastern Conference finals for the first time since 2000. The Knicks have not had a lot of success over the previous two decades, but Thibodeau changed things when he took over the jump prior to the 2020-21 season. While the Knicks were unable to overcome the Indiana Pacers in the conference finals, the fact that they were able to get there by dethroning the defending champion Boston Celtics was impressive. It was a run New York could continue to build on, but instead, it fired Thibodeau and there doesn't seem to be much of a plan. The Knicks have been going after coaches who already have jobs. They have been denied by the Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Chicago Bulls, and Atlanta Hawks for an interview request for their respective head coaches. It's a confusing route thus far and Philadelphia 76ers legend Charles Barkley has had enough: The Knicks got to be the stupidest damn people in the world. Like you don't fire no good coach and don't have a plan. Thibs did a hell of a job. Obviously, something's going on there, but you don't have a plan? And now three coaches have turned you down. You got to have a plan, man, and they don't have a plan. I don't know what the hell they're going to do. The Knicks certainly have some work to do. On the flip side, when considering there appears to be some dysfunction in New York, that opens the door for the Sixers to possibly make their move up the ladder in the East.
