Post bank holiday blues getting you down? Here's a trio of seasoned Silver Arrows for you to swoon over: a C11 and two CLK GTRs, one in 'GT1' race spec and the other in production form. Happy Tuesday.
The reunion happened at the annual FuoriConcorso event, which takes place at a couple of villas overlooking Lake Como. It's basically a gathering for fancy people to wear fancy clothes and talk about, yep, you guessed it, fancy cars.

No doubt there was plenty of conversation around these three Mercs. The two full-blown racers actually have a serious bit of history between them, what with them being title-winning cars, and having done so with strong performances on Italian soil.
The C11 competed in - and won - the 1990 FIA Group C championship, besting rivals like the Jaguar XJR-11 and the Porsche 962. Equipped with a ferocious 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8, producing around 730bhp in race trim, the C11 snatched a one-two victory in its maiden race (Monza) to set the tone as the car to beat that season.
Seven years later, the GT1 would prove similarly mighty in the 1997 FIA GT Championship, with part of its points haul coming from a second-place finish at Mugello. 20 road-legal homologation cars were derived from it - like the one pictured - and each is now worth an eye watering sum. For perspective, a coupe and soft-top pairing sold for around £15m back in 2023. We're still salty our offer of a tenner plus a Maltesers packet was declined.
Anyway, we've reason to believe this may be the first time a C11 and a GT1 have come together in a public setting. Surely that's enough to lift those weekend blues?

The historical Italian venue billionaire Jeff Bezos, 61, has booked as part of his wedding celebrations to Lauren Sanchez, 55, later this month can be revealed by the MailOnline. The Amazon boss has booked the Scuola Grande della Misericordia, one of the largest and grandest buildings in the historical centre of Venice, as part of the weekend-long extravaganza of celebrations. When built in 1310 it represented the 'Seven Scuole Grandi' whose members were high society dignitaries in Venice, who reached a level of such wealth and influence they were given leading roles in the state. Its walls are decorated by the city's greatest Renaissance artists. The Lonely Planet travel guides says of the large venue: 'One of Venice's seven grand confraternities, the Misericordia was the seat of the wealthy silk weavers guild that commissioned this enormous classical hall.' 'In 1532 Jacopo Sansovino was brought on board, brainstorming the idea of a Roman basilica within a traditional Venetian frame. No expense was spared on the interiors either, which were frescoed by Veronese, Zanchi, Pellegrini and Tintoretto. In 1914 it was taken over by the Reyer Sports Club, providing a beautiful backdrop to their basketball competitions.' The couple's highly-anticipated nuptials are set to take place the weekend of June 24 in the Floating City, much to the frustration of Venetians who have accused the billionaire of turning their home into a 'playground' for the ultra-wealthy - and are now planning protests to push back. A-list celebrities, politicians, and business leaders are expected to attend, which will mean beefed-up security, closed streets and airspace, and a strong police presence, just as Venice's peak tourist season gets underway. With an eye-popping price tag of $10million and a star-studded guest list that includes the Kardashians, actress Eva Longoria, and pop star Katy Perry - who all attended Sanchez's bachelorette party in Paris earlier this month - the wedding promises to opulence on overdrive. While President Donald Trump isn't expected to make an appearance, his children Ivanka and Don Jr are set to attend with their respective partners, husband Jared Kushner and new girlfriend Bettina Anderson. Guests are likely to land at nearby airports in gas-guzzling private planes - Bezos owns four Gulfstream jets - although the 61-year-old can't dock his $500million superyacht Koru as it's too big to anchor anywhere close to Venice. The massive carbon footprint of Bezos and his loaded guests will irk locals further, as Venice is blighted with polluted canals and mass tourism is destroying the fragile lagoon the city sits in. The Laboratorio Occupato Morion - a self-described 'anti-fascist, anti-capitalist, anti-racist and trans-feminist political space' - is already planning on hosting a protest event in the city on Friday at its social center, a short walk from the historic St. Mark's Square. The group has already begun advertising the protest online - sharing a flyer with an image of Bezos' head atop a rocket alongside the slogan: 'No space for Bezos, No space for oligarchs!' 'Jeff Bezos thinks he can buy the entire city - let's throw him a party!', the flyer reads, alongside details of Friday's demonstration. A lengthy adjoining caption reads : 'Venice is transformed into yet another playground for billionaires, while those who live it every day are left with discomfort, exclusion and precariousness.'

One-Off Porsche 963 RSP Is The Ultimate Roadgoing Racecar
Porsche 963 RSP Pays Tribute To 917 It's here, and as expected, the Porsche 963 RSP is a one-off road-going monster based on the automaker's Le Mans Hypercar contender, created for none other than Roger Penske, who nearly became a professional racing driver himself. He and Porsche have enjoyed a long and successful motorsport relationship that stretches back to 1972, and with the pair still working together in endurance racing in 2025, it's only fitting that the man who helped Porsche achieve glory in motorsport is honored with a one-off car like no other. Porschephiles will know that Porsche famously did something similar in 1975, when the Count Rossi 917 was created for one wealthy enthusiast. Just as was the case then, this was no easy feat. Significant Mechanical Changes Required For Road Use To clear at least some speed bumps, the suspension was raised to its maximum ride height, and the Multimatic DSSV dampers were calibrated to their softest setting. Even so, some images reveal a car that barely clears small obstructions. Then again, we doubt Mr. Penske uses roads with lots of potholes very often. Changes were also made to the lighting and turn signal systems to ensure they're suitable for road use without dazzling or confusing other drivers. But what about the engine, you're asking? Well, the hybrid V8 derived from the 918 Spyder retains its standard race tune (which we suspect means 670 horsepower, per Balance of Performance regulations for the Hypercar class), but the mapping was changed for smoother power delivery. That sounds simple, but Porsche says that getting the powertrain to run on pump gas was 'a significant undertaking.' Porsche never implies that anything is impossible, but this must have been quite a challenge. Kevlar And Carbon Fiber Are Difficult To Paint Carbon fiber and Kevlar have similar qualities, but the latter is tougher and far more difficult to tint, so it's rarely used (or, more accurately, seen) in modern hypercars. But in racing cars, aesthetics will always take a back seat to performance and safety. Thus, most racecars are wrapped, not painted, which also allows manufacturers to get away with a rougher finish, since the goal is lightness and strength, not smoothness of surface. For a one-off road car as significant as the 963 RSP, a vinyl finish simply wouldn't do. Giving Porsche's paint specialists a chance to show off (or pull their hair out), the Paint to Sample color Martini Silver was expertly recreated according to records at the Porsche Museum, with a triple-layer lacquer encouraging Mr. Penske to use it on the road as often as possible, as intended. Disappointingly, Porsche has not revealed much of the rear of the car, but the planking/fin between the rear wing was removed to make the 963 look more like the 917. An Interior That Is Just About Liveable Inside, a lavish leather upholstery program has been carried out over the otherwise almost unchanged cabin, with the standard race wheel and dash being retained. A cupholder was fitted, and all the foam inserts were rewrapped, while the roof lining and A-pillars were retrimmed in matching light Alcantara, but there's no airbag or infotainment system. That's because, as a one-off, this received special approval from the government in France, where the 24 Hours of Le Mans is held and where the 917 Count Rossi lived. Other nods to the 917 Count Rossi include old-school Michelin logos on the tire walls, a Porsche enamel badge rather than a graphic, end plates for the ventilation system that mimic the fan atop the 917's flat-12 engine, and a bespoke toolset, as one would have expected in the gritty days of roadgoing endurance racers.
