Brighten up your day with these rare, Nineties motorsport Mercs
Brighten up your day with these rare, Nineties motorsport Mercs C11 meets not one, but *two* CLK GTRs in quite the family reunion Skip 11 photos in the image carousel and continue reading Turn on Javascript to see all the available pictures. 1 / 11 Post bank holiday blues getting you down? Here's a trio of seasoned Silver Arrows for you to swoon over: a C11 and two CLK GTRs, one in 'GT1' race spec and the other in production form. Happy Tuesday. The reunion happened at the annual FuoriConcorso event, which takes place at a couple of villas overlooking Lake Como. It's basically a gathering for fancy people to wear fancy clothes and talk about, yep, you guessed it, fancy cars. Advertisement - Page continues below No doubt there was plenty of conversation around these three Mercs. The two full-blown racers actually have a serious bit of history between them, what with them being title-winning cars, and having done so with strong performances on Italian soil. The C11 competed in - and won - the 1990 FIA Group C championship, besting rivals like the Jaguar XJR-11 and the Porsche 962. Equipped with a ferocious 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8, producing around 730bhp in race trim, the C11 snatched a one-two victory in its maiden race (Monza) to set the tone as the car to beat that season. Seven years later, the GT1 would prove similarly mighty in the 1997 FIA GT Championship, with part of its points haul coming from a second-place finish at Mugello. 20 road-legal homologation cars were derived from it - like the one pictured - and each is now worth an eye watering sum. For perspective, a coupe and soft-top pairing sold for around £15m back in 2023. We're still salty our offer of a tenner plus a Maltesers packet was declined. Anyway, we've reason to believe this may be the first time a C11 and a GT1 have come together in a public setting. Surely that's enough to lift those weekend blues? Bovensiepen and Zagato Reveal Striking 611 HP Gran Turismo at Lake Como
Summary Bavaria meets Milan in the debut of theBovensiepenZagato, a limited-production grand tourer, based on the BMW M4, unveiled at this year's Fuori Concorso on Lake Como. The first model from the newly launched Bovensiepen brand, the Zagato pairs Italian coachbuilding with Bavarian engineering, creating what CEO Andreas Bovensiepen calls 'Fine Driving' in its purest form. The car features a 3L inline-six engine producing 611 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, launching from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.3 seconds and reaching a top speed over 186 mph. Built on a lightweight carbon fiber body and outfitted with adaptive Bilstein dampers and forged 20-inch wheels, the Zagato combines performance with comfort in three selectable driving modes. A titanium Akrapovič exhaust delivers a sound worthy of its bold design. Zagato's design DNA is evident in the signature 'double bubble' roof, frameless windows and precise, flowing lines. Inside, buyers can personalize nearly every surface, including optional Lavalina leather upholstery and CNC-milled aluminum shift paddles. Each car requires over 250 hours to build, with more than 400 bespoke components crafted in Buchloe. At the time of writing, specifics on availability and price have not yet been revealed, however, they are expected to be shared by the end of 2025, with deliveries expected to take place in Q2 of 2026.

Maserati Shines at FuoriConcorso with Stunning GT2 Stradale and MCXtrema
From 24 to 25 May, Maserati will be the leading light on Lake Como with the GT2 Stradale and MCXtrema. This will be the first time it has taken part in FuoriConcorso, a prestigious automotive event held annually since 2019 at the historic residences of Villa del Grumello and Villa Sucota, attracting thousands of collectors, experts, car enthusiasts and fans of 'beauty'. Every year, the event highlights a different aspect of automotive history and creativity with a line-up of customised, iconic, rare and unreleased cars and prototypes. The theme this year is 'Velocissimo – Italian Race Cars'. an evocative tribute to the most representative racing cars that have made motorsport history. The two Trident cars on display fit in perfectly: the new GT2 Stradale and the exclusive MCXtrema, the epitome of performance as part of the brand's DNA. While FuoriConcorso stands out for its refined atmosphere and display of iconic, rare cars often never seen before cars, from private collections and prestigious car manufacturers, Maserati finds its natural environment here to present two extraordinary creations that strike the right balance between elegance and limitless performance. The new GT2 Stradale, on show in the refined 'Bianco Audace' livery created by Officine Fuoriserie Maserati, represents the evolution of sportiness not only on the track. Created as the road-legal version of the GT2 that took the House of the Trident back to racing and victory in closed-wheel championships, it is a mixture of the two iconic worlds of Maserati, those of elegance and racing. It embodies the brand's racing spirit and at the same time offers comfort and driving pleasure for everyday use. With an output of 640 CV, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds and a top speed of over 320 km/h, the GT2 Stradale also stands out for its weight, reduced by 60 kg compared to the MC20. Courtesy of the extraordinary V6 Nettuno engine, which can achieve 640 CV (471 kW) in the latter configuration, the GT2 Stradale is the most powerful road-going Maserati with an internal combustion engine. Alongside, a Maserati MCXtrema is on show with all the expressive power of its classic 'Blu Extrema' livery. Not type-approved to be driven on the road, the car is designed for the most discerning of collectors or for gentleman drivers seeking the utmost exhilaration on the track. Produced in a limited edition of only 62 units, the MCXtrema is a racing 'beast' thanks to the sheer power of its formidable 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine – derived from the Nettuno and in this case pushed to the limit – that can deliver 740 CV. The car on display at Villa Sucota is a unique and distinctive manifestation of the pinnacle of Maserati performance, a creative combination of mechanical mastery, technical cleanliness, irresistible beauty, competitive grit and refined aerodynamics. Two cars, two spirits, the GT2 Stradale and MCXtrema, but only one Trident. By taking part in FuoriConcorso 2025, Maserati celebrates its vision of luxury, innovation and passion for driving in a unique setting, where art, beauty and engines come together. Maserati S.p.A. Maserati produces a complete range of unique cars, immediately recognizable for their extraordinary personality. Thanks to their style, technology, and innately exclusive character, they delight the most discerning, demanding tastes and have always been a benchmark for the global automotive industry. A tradition of successful cars, each of them redefining what makes an Italian sports car in terms of design, performance, comfort, elegance, and safety, currently available in more than 70 markets internationally. Maserati line-up includes the Grecale, the 'everyday exceptional' SUV, the GranTurismo, the iconic Italian grand tourer, and the GranCabrio, the new convertible of the Trident; all models characterized by the use of the highest quality materials and excellent technical solutions. A range equipped with 4-cylinder hybrid powertrains – available for Grecale – and V6 petrol, with rear-wheel and four-wheel drive, embodying the performance DNA of the Trident brand. The top of the range is made up of the MC20 super sports car and the MC20 Cielo spyder, powered by the ground-breaking 100% Maserati Nettuno V6 engine, which incorporates F1-derived technologies into the power unit of a standard production car for the first time. The GranTurismo is available with both the high-performance V6 petrol engine, derived from the Nettuno, and a 100% electric version: the GranTurismo Folgore, the first car in the Modena-based brand's history to adopt this solution. The full-electric range also currently includes the Grecale Folgore, Maserati's first 100% electric SUV, and the GranCabrio Folgore. Finally, the House of the Trident's latest addition is the Maserati GT2 Stradale, the road-legal version of the GT2 that took Maserati back to the track in closed-wheel championships. The heart of the new super sports car is the V6 Nettuno engine, reaching 640 hp (471 kW) in the latter configuration. The GT2 Stradale is therefore the most powerful road-going Maserati with an internal combustion mission at Maserati is to write the future of mobility in the luxury segment, focusing on its customers' requests. ظهرت المقالة Maserati Shines at FuoriConcorso with Stunning GT2 Stradale and MCXtrema أولاً على المفتاح الاقتصادي.
