Saudi Arabia launches anti-dumping probe into Indian ductile iron pipe imports
The Saudi General Authority of Foreign Trade (GAFT) has launched an anti-dumping investigation into imports of ductile iron pipes originating from or exported by India. The probe covers cast iron pipes and hollow tubes with diameters ranging from 100mm to 1,000mm, specifically of the K9 and C40 classes.
This action is in line with Article 4.1 of the Law of Trade Remedies in International Trade, issued on November 23, 2022. According to the article, 'the authority is responsible for trade remedies including conducting investigations, reviews, and the imposition of measures in accordance with the Kingdom's international commitments, especially under the Anti-Dumping Agreement, the Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures, and the Agreement on Safeguards.'
Unfair trade practices
The investigation reflects Saudi's efforts to protect its domestic industry from unfair trade practices. Since the trade remedies law came into effect, GAFT has conducted multiple investigations across various industrial sectors to address concerns over dumped or subsidised imports, curb surges in import volumes, and safeguard Saudi exports involved in foreign trade remedy cases.
GAFT noted that full details and updates on the ongoing investigations are available on its official website (

Jordan: Oil bill falls 1.9% in 5 months
AMMAN — The Department of Statistics' (DoS) foreign trade data showed a decline in Jordan's imports of crude oil and its derivatives during the first five months of this year by 1.9 percent. The value of the Kingdom's imports of crude oil and its derivatives until the end of May this year amounted to JD1.121 billion, compared with JD1.143 billion for the same period last year, according to the statistical data monitored on Tuesday by the Jordan News Agency, Petra. This indicates a decrease of JD22 million. The decline in the Kingdom's oil bill at the end of May this year contributed to limiting the direct increase in the value of the Kingdom's imports, as oil still ranks first in the list of imports of the Kingdom. Fuel and mineral oils accounted for the largest share of the Kingdom's list of oil derivatives imports until the end of last May, with a value of JD414 million, followed by crude oil "Petrol" by JD333 million. While the imports of oil spirits "gasoline" amounted to about JD161 million, diesel "Solar" by about JD193 million, in addition to lubricants with a value of JD16 million and kerosene with about JD4 million, Petra reported. © Copyright The Jordan Times. Arab Finance: Tanmeyah, a subsidiary of EFG Holding, has developed El Zaharaa Square in Maadi as part of its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy focused on environmental sustainability and community development, as per an emailed press release. Located at the intersection of Al Zahraa Street and El Khamseen Street, the 8,600-square-meter square is one of the largest public spaces in Greater Cairo. Its location in Maadi, where Tanmeyah is headquartered, made it a practical choice for the company's latest urban development effort. The project was implemented in coordination with several government bodies, including the Cairo Governorate, the Office of the Deputy Governor for South Cairo, the Al Basateen and Al Maadi District Authorities, the National Organization for Urban Harmony, and the Cleaning and Landscaping Authority. It was carried out under the patronage of the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA). The initiative follows Tanmeyah's previous collaboration with the Al Basateen District and the National Organization for Urban Harmony in December 2024 to redevelop Palestine Square and Ahmed Abd El-Azeem Street in Al Maadi. © 2025 All Rights Reserved Arab Finance For Information Technology Provided by SyndiGate Media Inc. Saudi Arabia's Sinad Holding Co. has committed to subscribe as a cornerstone investor for 6.67 million shares in the IPO of Dar Al Majed Real Estate Co. (AlMajdiah). The share purchase represents around 2.22% of Al Majdiah's capital, Sinad said. The allocation was approved by the selling shareholders in the company's supplementary prospectus, published on July 29. The move aligns with Sinad's objective to strengthen and diversify its investment portfolio by targeting opportunities that help maximise returns. AlMajdiah has set the price range for its IPO between 13.5-14 Saudi riyals ($3.60-3.73). Last week, the developer announced floating 30% of its share capital, or 90 million shares, on the Main Market (TASI). The book-building process commenced on July 29 and will close on August 4, 2025. All shares on offer were subscribed within minutes of the books opening, Bloomberg reported. Saudi Fransi Capital has been appointed as the financial advisor, lead manager, underwriter and bookrunner for the IPO.
