Guernsey FC go down to 1-0 Leatherhead loss
Guernsey FC missed out on the chance to pull further away from the Isthmian League South Central relegation zone after a 1-0 loss at Leatherhead.Ben Solway helped keep the scores goalless at half time as he cleared a home effort off the line while Leatherhead had a 32nd-minute goal ruled out for offside.Charlton Gauvain and Brandon Wallace went on to have good chances for the islanders but failed to convert.The hosts had Alex Pearce sent off after an hour, but went ahead 13 minutes later when Kane Fitzgerald converted a penalty.The loss leaves Guernsey out of the drop zone on goal difference, although they have two games in hand on South Park who occupy the final relegation place.The Green Lions have played three fewer matches than Metropolitan Police who are one place and three points above them.Guernsey's next fixture is a trip to play-off chasing Hayes and Yeading United on Saturday.

Allen unsure on Muratti future after Guernsey win
Guernsey captain Ross Allen says he has yet to decide if he will play in a Muratti Vase 38-year-old scored two goals in the 3-1 win over Jersey to end their rival's eight-year grip on the annual title. Veteran striker Allen won the Player of the Match award for a record fourth time - 14 years after first winning the Ossie Eloury Trophy - as he once again became the thorn in Jersey's side."If that is the last one it is a pretty special one," Allen, who captained Guernsey for the first time, told BBC Radio Guernsey."I'll just enjoy the moment and see how the body's feeling."I'm definitely going to play next season for Guensey FC. Whether I carry on from a Muratti point of view it's going to be how the body feels and who's pushing for a place in the squad."Sometimes you've got to step away to allow the next guy to come through."There will be a day very soon where that happens, so I'm not saying either way, but I just want to enjoy the day with such an amazing group of lads and friends."Having scored 311 goals in 356 games for Guernsey FC, Allen has been a stalwart of island football for the best part of two decades. He helped Guernsey qualify to represent England at the Uefa Regions' Cup in 2010 and helped the Sarnians to a 2015 Island Games gold medal. He now manages the Guernsey FA academy and says he is looking forward to seeing the young players he is helping to develop."I'm just so excited about the next crop coming through, and for them to get this feeling of winning, early on, and trying to get that regularly with Guernsey FC as well, it's going to be massive going forward."I'm really excited about what the future brings, even if that's not with me out there playing."

Guernsey impress to beat Jersey and win Muratti Vase
Ross Allen scored twice as Guernsey beat 10-man Jersey 3-1 to win the Muratti Vase for the first time in eight victory in the first men's inter-island game at Victoria Park was consolation for Guernsey's players, many of whom were part of the Guernsey FC side relegated from the Isthmian League last win, in front of 3,090 fans, was Guernsey's first in the annual fixture since 2017 when veteran forward Allen was on the scoresheet as his side beat Jersey 2-1 at Footes Lane. New Jersey boss Jack Cannon was missing a number of Jersey Bulls' star players - the likes of Lorne Bickley, James Queree, Euan van der Vliet and Miguel Carvalho were all despite that they started strongly as Luke Campbell and Jonny le Quesne went close early in the first three minutes, but it was the hosts who blew their opponents away with two goals in as many 38-year-old Allen - the scourge of Jersey for so many years - lobbed Piers Roche in the eighth minute after breaking minutes later Charlton Gauvain doubled the advantage as he arrowed in from the edge of the box for one of the finest starts in Muratti almost made it 3-0 two minutes later, but his effort at the far post from Jacques Cauvain's cross was deflected into the side Francis Lekimamati had a header saved two minutes before Hinds made it 2-1 - the Jersey Bulls striker headed into the top corner from Kieran Lester's 26th-minute cross from the just as Jersey looked as though they might get back into it Guernsey FC's record goalscorer Allen struck again as he caught Roche off his line from the edge of the box having picked up a cross-field ball from Brandon sides had good efforts to score in a frantic end to the first period - Lester, Lekimamati and Adam Trotter going close for the visitors while Sam Murray and Brandon Wallace had decent efforts for the Greens. Allen had two good chances to increase the lead in the opening minutes of the second half as Guernsey tried to make the game safe. Jersey Bulls top scorer Joe Kilshaw forced an excellent save from Josh Addison after an hour while Gauvain had a strike beaten away by Roche six minutes later. Guernsey substitute Callum le Lacheur went close with 15 minutes to go and a minute later was fouled by Jersey skipper Luke Campbell, earning the veteran centre-back his second yellow card and an early exit. The sending off ended any hopes Jersey had of getting back into the game - Matt Loaring grazed the Jersey bar in the dying moments of stoppage time as their opponent's impressive eight-year unbeaten record came to an end.

Guernsey women beat Jersey to retain Muratti Vase

Three minutes later the Guernsey striker scored again as she rounded Malta and slotted into the empty lost Queripel to injury with 15 minutes left and two minutes later lost her replacement Kayleigh Marquis after she was hurt as Jersey Holly Muirhead and Emily le Page scrambled home what they thought was an equaliser, but the referee ruled it out for handball in the build meant debutant midfielder Jess Frampton went in goal as the hosts almost made it 3-1 during 11 minutes of stoppage time as Candice Bougourd hit the crossbar with a free kick in the 95th minute before Donna Gallienne forced a save from Malta soon after.
