CMAT ‘did not sleep' and felt ill before Glastonbury set on the main stage
The musician, real name Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson, 29, played songs from her back catalogue, as well as singles from her forthcoming third studio album Euro-Country, when she took to the Pyramid Stage in June.

She told BBC Radio 6 Music: 'It's worth noting that the two days beforehand, I was acting like someone who was about to go into war.

'I was shaking with the fear. I couldn't talk to anyone, I didn't sleep, like I was ill.
'I was so, so scared. I was so scared for the Pyramid Stage.
'I kind of just kept throwing my head in my hands, and like screaming and being like, 'Why did they let me do this?'

'And then by the time I walked on stage, the feeling, the first thought that occurred to me was, 'Oh my God, I'm so relieved that this is about to be over, because I don't have to be scared of it anymore'.
'And then, actually, weirdly, because I had had that thought, I was like, 'Oh, I can just enjoy myself, because it's about to be over and not in front of me anymore'.
She added: 'Because of that, I actually did enjoy myself, and we were really well rehearsed. And it just felt amazing. It was amazing.
'It was a weird thing walking out, though, because someone was like, 'Oh, you should get about 20,000 people at that time'… and I walked out, and I've seen 20,000 people before, and I was like, I don't know, I don't know what this is. I've never seen this wall (of people). They just kept going.'

CMAT said that she had 10 minutes to herself after the performance before she filmed an episode of CBeebies Bedtime Stories.

She said: 'When I stepped off the stage, I was a bit shocked, and I was a bit winded, because the weight of everything came down on me as I was stepping down, and I literally curled up in a ball behind the sofa in my dressing room and made my sister close the door and was like, 'No one can look at me for five to 10 minutes.'
'And I just literally curled up in a ball and I didn't talk to anyone for like 10 minutes.'
Towards the end of her set on the Pyramid Stage, CMAT waded into the crowd to sing her popular song Stay For Something and chanted 'Free Palestine' in reference to sustained Israeli strikes in Gaza.

She later performed a secret set at the BBC Introducing stage.
CMAT released her debut album, If My Wife New I'd Be Dead, in 2022, and followed it up with Mercury Prize-nominated Crazymad, For Me in 2023.
In July, the BBC denied editing out Irish language that features as part of the pop singer's new single, Euro-Country, when it was played on BBC Radio 1 for the first time.
Her third studio album is set for release on August 29th.

Brian Cox says Scots film festival was too small for his film premiere - after getting £540k of taxpayer cash
He has been a controversial champion of the SNP and independence. But Succession actor Brian Cox has snubbed his homeland for the launch of his latest film, even though it was handed cash by the Scottish Government. In a typically-forthright outburst, the star says the Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) - which begins on Thursday - needs to 'get its s*** together'. Instead, Cox will unveil his directorial debut, Glenrothan, at a rival event in Canada. It's one of four new films backed by the quango Screen Scotland which have chosen to make their premiere in Toronto next month. Cox, 79, told the Herald: 'You can't sell anything at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. 'Nobody is bothered about that element of it - how you sell the f****** product. 'There is something immensely practical about art - it's all about how you sell it.' Referring to a financial crisis in 2022 in which the EIFF came close to extinction, Cox added: 'It is the oldest film festival there is, but with the big chaos they had a few years ago it has lost viability. 'They have got to get their s*** together. It needs to be a festival where you can sell stuff and you invite people to buy it. 'We knew that the best place to be doing it would be at one of the really proper film festivals. 'Getting it into Toronto was a big plus for the film. I would have liked to have shown the film in Edinburgh, but once the deal is done, that is it.' Glenrothan, which was shot in Edinburgh, Glasgow and rural Stirlingshire, is the tale of ex-pat who returns from the US to the Highlands to take over the family whisky distillery. The film, which was given £540,000 by Screen Scotland to help bankroll its development and production, stars Cox and fellow Scot Alan Cumming. Both actors have pursued successful careers across the Atlantic, but frequently support calls from nationalist to rip Scotland out of the Union. Other Screen Scotland-funded movies choosing to launch in Toronto instead of Edinburgh include California Schemin' - directed by James McAvoy - the thriller Fuze and a remake of Frankenstein. Between them, the movies received £1.7m of Scottish taxpayers' money. EIFF director Paul Ridd said: 'There were a number of terrific films we considered where the stakeholders ultimately made the decision to premiere elsewhere later in the year. This is all part of the process. 'We respect the decisions of filmmakers, producers and key players behind these films and their launch strategies.' Cox's snub for the EIFF is an about-turn from a previous broadside he made in 2019 when he criticised bosses for not showing another of his films, Rory's Way. He said at the time: 'I was well p***** off because they wanted it at Edinburgh one year and the film wasn't quite ready. 'We tried to get it in the second year and they didn't want to know, which I thought was a shame, because my character is not only a Scot, but a Gaelic speaker. 'I thought that was the one place it should have been was in the Edinburgh International Film Festival.' Dundee-born Cox, best known for playing media tycoon Logan Roy in the award-winning HBO series Succession, left Scotland aged 20 to find work in England and now splits his time between New York and London. He has previously ruled out ever moving back to Scotland because he doesn't like the weather. But that hasn't stopped him frequently weighing in on the independence debate. He publicly quit Labour for the SNP in 2015 in the wake of the referendum. Earlier this month, he said: 'Let's get on with it and let's get it done. We can do it. 'It's been tough as there's a great deal of undermining that has gone on.' A Screen Scotland spokesperson said: 'Scottish filmmakers are internationally renowned for their craft and regularly selected to play at major international festivals which are often the launchpad for international sales. 'EIFF's revitalized offer positions it as a global player celebrating the very best that cinema has to offer in a modern, energised context and very much part of the wider cultural offering taking place in Edinburgh in August. AN ILLEGAL migrant boasted on TikTok of crossing the Channel by dinghy, saying: 'Tell your friends to come.' The man racked up nearly a million views with a step-by-step guide to crossing the Channel on a small boat — and then told others to follow him as he revelled in his taxpayer-funded asylum hotel. 7 7 7 Known as Alexandra420, he said his wish had come true and that this was 'the best place' during a TikTok livestream at his free accommodation near Heathrow. His taunts come as figures reveal 50,271 people have crossed in a small boat since Labour and Sir Keir Starmer took office last year. Last night Reform leader Nigel Farage MP told The Sun: 'This is yet another total humiliation for our country. "The Prime Minister's soft-touch approach and refusal to address the root cause of illegal Channel crossings has turned the UK into a global laughing stock.' TikTok influencer Alexandra, who has 70,000 followers, left Calais in a dinghy at around 4am on Saturday. His first video was a 13-second clip from the middle of the Channel, showing a French lifeboat alongside his dinghy, which was full of fellow migrants. The next clip showed him grinning in an orange life jacket and pointing to the sky. A third video, bizarrely set to the theme tune of US TV drama Prison Break, showed the vessel surrounded by massive freight ships, while in a fourth he dipped his designer trainers in the water. He was one of 435 arrivals on Saturday, and was taken in by Border Force officials to be processed at Manston, Kent. He was then bussed to the four-star Crowne Plaza hotel in West Drayton, near Heathrow. The migrant, thought to be from Afghanistan, treats TikTok viewers to a tour of his room, which had two single beds and a double plus an en-suite bathroom. He also shows them the view from his window. Triumphing in his good fortune, he said: 'This is dedicated to those haters who were happy thinking we either drowned or ended up dead.' In a later livestream he claimed their boat began to deflate halfway through the crossing and could have capsized if Border Force officials had not rescued them. He said: 'It was dangerous. Our boat sank. It was punctured. The water came from the inside of the boat. "On the other side, three people pumped the water. If the British boats hadn't come in an hour, we would have been in trouble.' He then encouraged others to pay thousands to people-smugglers to make the same perilous journey. He ranted: 'I risked my life, I spent my money, I came. Your country is not your mother. "Those who want to come, this is the best place. Don't be stingy. Your country is not your father, that you are so stingy. Live your life. 'Tell your four friends to come. Why are you so stingy? Being stingy is not good for God. You see, I risked my life! Why don't you come? My wish was to come to this hotel and live. I came here just for this.' 7 7 He also revealed how he beat warnings of deportation, claiming he had been told by UK officials: 'If I send you to France, you won't have any problem.' But he replied: 'I will commit suicide.' He went on: 'I just said it, and he got angry. I told them, and right there, I swore an oath.' The Heathrow Crowne Plaza used to cost guests £120 a night — but has been housing migrants for more than four years, and has an 8ft security fence. Facilities include a luxury swimming pool with steam room and sauna, gym, an Irish bar, two large restaurants and a theatre. More illegal arrivals were brought in on packed buses yesterday alongside vans delivering food. One Afghan man told The Sun: 'I came to Britain a few days ago on a boat from France. This hotel is nice and we get fed and given clothes. Life is nice here so far.' A TikTok spokeswoman said it has a zero-tolerance approach to content promoting people-smuggling. A Home Office spokeswoman said it is unacceptable 'to promote the criminal services of people-traffickers or for social media companies to allow it'. Laws are being brought in to make it easier to prosecute, she added.
