Man beaten, robbed by two men after car accident
The people in the other car left the scene, but later came back to beat and rob the man.
The victim spoke with WREG and said that everything happened in the blink of an eye.
Jeffrey Richardson said he was headed to work, but right as he was about to turn in, he got into an accident.
After that, things went from bad to worse.
'When I went to the hospital, they told me I had a broken nose, a broken jaw and I skinned my knee up real bad,' Richardson said. 'It's starting to get a little better now.'
Bruised and battered, Richardson said it's all still a blur after he was beaten and robbed by two men on Monday.
Right before the assault, Richardson said he and those same two men were involved in a crash off Winchester as Richardson was turning into a beauty supply store.
McDonald's manager forced to fight off angry customer
He said he was getting paid to clean the parking lot.
'All of a sudden, the other car was right there in front of me, and they hit me and spun me all the way around – 360 degrees, to where my truck was sitting still. Just as if I was turning at the turning lane still,' Richardson said.
Memphis Police said Richardson hit a black Chrysler 300, but 15-20 minutes after the accident, the driver and his passenger came back.
'It happened so fast that I didn't know what was going on,' Richardson said. '[The] only thing I can do is try and get away from them.'
Richardson told WREG that it was after the crash and assault that he was able to get help from workers at a nearby Metro by T-Mobile store.
'Once they attacked me, that's when I went and they had said you need to come in here,' Richardson said. '[They] locked the doors so they [the suspects] couldn't get back to me in case they came back.'
As the chaos settled, Richardson said that's when he learned that his wallet had been taken.

Still, he said he was more worried about the pain he'd sustained from the beating.
'I did get a concussion out of the deal because when I called to tell my boss and my sister about it, they said I done called them once and told them,' Richardson said.
After he recovers, Richardson said he'll start looking for a new truck.
'They did wrong is all I can say because you don't treat an older man like that,' he said.
Police say another vehicle was involved in the accident.

1 killed, 2 seriously injured in drive-by shooting at repast at Detroit park, police say
A man was killed, and two women were seriously injured in a drive-by shooting at a repast at a park on Detroit's east side Monday night. Detroit police Deputy Chief Arnold Williams said the shooting happened just before 8 p.m. Monday at Latham Playground near Moffat Avenue and Seneca Street, as family and friends gathered after a funeral. Investigators believe a burgundy Chrysler 300 drove by and fired shots into the crowd. Police do not know how many people were in the vehicle, but say it has a flat tire. A man in his early 30s was killed, and two women, both in their late 20s, were in temporary serious condition at an area hospital, Williams said. Police said they found handgun and rifle casings in an alley west of the park, in the street in front of the park, and in the rear corner east of the park. Williams said there could have been more than 100 rounds fired. No homes were shot at. Detroit police are currently looking for witnesses, and an investigation is ongoing. Alleged mastermind behind Young Dolph's killing is 2nd to stand trial in Memphis shooting
The trial of a man charged with organizing the daytime ambush killing of rapper Young Dolph at a Memphis bakery in November 2021 began on Monday. Hernandez Govan, 45, faces charges of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and attempted murder. He is not accused of shooting Young Dolph, but prosecutors claim he directed the two people who did. He rejected the state's offer to settle with a guilty plea last month, CBS affiliate WREG reported. Young Dolph, whose legal name is Adolph Thornton Jr., was a rapper, independent label owner and producer who grew up in Memphis and was admired in the city for his charitable works. The 36-year-old was in his hometown to hand out Thanksgiving turkeys to families when his visit to his favorite cookie shop turned into an attack that shocked the entertainment world. City officials and community activists pointed to the killing as a symbol of the dangers of gun violence in Memphis, where more than 300 homicides were reported that year. Memphis prosecutors have portrayed the killing as part an effort by Anthony "Big Jook" Mims to get revenge on Young Dolph for diss tracks aimed at Big Jook and the record label he helped run for his brother, Yo Gotti. Smith has testified that Big Jook put out a $100,000 hit on Young Dolph as well as smaller bounties on all the artists at Young Dolph's record label, Paper Route Empire. Big Jook was shot and killed outside a restaurant earlier this year. Testifying against Govan on Monday was Cornelius Smith Jr., who has admitted to being one of the two shooters who ambushed Young Dolph. Smith previously was the main witness against Justin Johnson, who was convicted of first-degree murder in 2024 after Smith named him as the second shooter. Smith testified on Monday that "I didn't know anything about Paper Route having no hits," before Govan told him about them. He said Govan hired him to "do the hits" and was going to take $10,000 as his cut. Govan was also the person who told him and Johnson that Young Dolph would be in Memphis for the volunteer event, so "that's our opportunity," Smith said. Meanwhile, Govan's defense attorney, Manny Arora, tried to paint Smith as an unreliable witness who would say anything to try to get a lighter sentence. Arora pointed to previous testimony where Smith recalled a chance encounter with Big Jook. At the time, Smith implied that Big Jook was the person who hired him. After Smith was arrested, his attorney called Big Jook's attorney and received somewhere between $38,000 and $50,000 in cash. Smith said on Monday that he did not know who had supplied the money. Smith also testified that he previously heard that Govan might be working with the FBI. Arora asked why Smith would take a job from Govan if that were the case. Smith said that Govan was "innocent until proven guilty." Smith is charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder but has pleaded not guilty and does not yet have a trial date. Johnson was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole in September 2024. He was later sentenced for two other convictions from the trial: conspiracy to commit murder and being a felon in possession of a gun. Young Dolph began his career by releasing numerous mixtapes. His studio albums include his 2016 debut, "King of Memphis." He also collaborated on other mixtapes and albums with fellow rappers Key Glock, Megan Thee Stallion, T.I., Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz and others. Young Dolph had three albums reach the top 10 on the Billboard 200, with 2020′s "Rich Slave" peaking at No. 4. He was among the musical stars that The Grammy Awards paid tribute to during its memoriam segment at the 2022 awards. In a 2024 interview with The Associated Press, Carlisa Brown, Young Dolph's sister, called her brother's killing a "very senseless murder" and added that his family wants everyone involved to get the justice they deserve. The attack that killed the rapper wasn't the first time he was targeted. In 2017, Young Dolph was approached by three men and shot over "beef," according to the Los Angeles Police Department. He was critically injured but survived. Earlier that same year, he was involved in another shooting, where at least 100 bullets were fired at his SUV.

Shocking number of teens are victims and perpetrators under 'Raise the Age' law
Every day the Raise the Age law stands is another day of mourning for Julia Verona, whose 14-year-old son was fatally stabbed outside a McDonald's in Queens, allegedly by another teen. The law changed how teens are treated in New York's criminal justice system, increasing the age of criminal responsibility from 16 to 18, often funneling more violent cases to the state's family courts and resulting in reduced sentences when compared to adult suspects. Godwin was sentenced in April to 10 years to life behind bars, while Bojang was sentenced to 15 years in May. 'Just a little slap on the wrist and they are coming out thinking they could commit more crimes. They know the consequences are not as severe…they don't think about the family,' dad Sokpini Tay said. Yanely Henriquez lost her 16-year-old daughter Angellyh Yambo on April 8, 2022, when 17-year-old Jeremiah Ryan opened fire with a ghost gun on the street in the Bronx as University Prep Charter High School, where Yambo was a straight-A student, let out. Yambo was caught in the crossfire and shot in the back. Cops recovered a .380-caliber Glock 42 from his waistband at the scene. Clarke pleaded not guilty to two counts of attempted murder, three counts of assault and reckless endangerment and weapons charges and was ordered held on $200,000 bail. 12 The accused Times Square gunman, identified as Jayden Clarke, pleaded not guilty to two counts of attempted murder. Michael Nagle Bronx beatdown On Aug. 5, two young teens — just 15-and 16-years-old — were arrested and charged with murder and gang assault in the vicious beating and fatal stabbing of Angel Mendoza, a 14-year-old who was hanging with friends at the Williamsbridge Oval Playground in Norwood. Cell phone video taken by the boy's suspected attackers shows the pack zeroing in on him before smashing him 'in the face with a Taurus 9mm pistol' and then repeatedly striking and kicking him on 'his head, face and body,' according to court documents and police sources. 12 Angel Mendoza, 14, was hanging with friends at the Williamsbridge Oval Playground in Norwood when he was attacked and killed. family handout 12 A memorial for Angel Mendoza, in Williamsbridge Oval, Bronx, NY. Mendoza was not in a gang and had no previous run-ins with police, said his family, who hid his shoes to keep him home and out of trouble. Stray bullet slaying A 14-year-old gang member allegedly opened fire near a Morrisania schoolyard around 5 p.m. on May 12 — killing 16-year-old Evette Jeffrey as she rode her scooter, authorities said. The babyfaced gunman is believed to have fired his weapon after a fistfight broke out between his friends and rival gangbangers as they left the Bronx playground at 800 Home Street. Evette had celebrated her first anniversary with her boyfriend, also 16, with a date at a Chinese buffet, relatives said.
