‘Cop bureau': Former neta held in Noida, planned unit in Kol
Adhikari was arrested in Noida on Sunday along with five others, including his son, for running a similarly named fake police agency.
"On July 30, an information was received at Beleghata PS that an NGO has installed their signboard on premises no. P 294 CIT Road, 2nd floor, Scheme -IV with the name of 'International Police & Crime Investigation Bureau'. They were called at Beleghata police station and after verification of documents they were asked to remove the signboard.
With the intervention of local police, they removed the signboard. It was also found that they never started their operation from the said address.
Their lawyer was informed that the word 'police' and blue-red icon can be used by state or central police organisation only. Strict vigil is being maintained over the property," said DCP (ESD) Gaurav Lal.
Meanwhile, the Noida arrest has sparked a wave of allegations from locals in Beleghata and Phoolbagan, where Adhikari rented the house.
"This was within 1-km radius of Beleghata PS, displaying boards like "Interpol" and "Police". The boards were reportedly up until Sunday, but those were removed shortly after the arrests," said Sailen Chatterjee, a local. Elderly residents have expressed their concerns, stating, "Ever since he set up an office here, the peaceful neighbourhood seemed to have changed.
He had three or four bouncers with him. They had chambers on their waists for firearms but no actual firearm was found with them," claimed a local.
Another resident said, " He moved in a small convoy. Each of the bouncers wore blue attire and had firearms holsters on their waists."

Sources said the house owner allegedly had prior knowledge of Adhikari and facilitated his move from Maniktala to Beleghata, reportedly receiving a monthly payment of Rs 40,000. The owner refuted theses claims and said, "The Adhikaris rented the house about a month ago, saying it would be an office and said something about the police. I had an 11-month agreement with him. I don't know anything else."

Fourth arrest made in Ghaziabad in case of teenage girl's trafficking
New Delhi: Delhi Police has arrested the fourth suspect in a human trafficking case involving a 13-year-old girl who was forcibly married and later rescued from Shamli, Uttar Pradesh. The accused, identified as Ramanjot Singh, 24, a resident of Ghaziabad, is a cyber café owner who allegedly created a fake Aadhaar card listing the minor's age as 19. Deputy commissioner of police (northwest) Bhisham Singh said Ramanjot operated a cyber café on the ground floor of his residence. During interrogation, it was revealed that he actively assisted the other accused by preparing and sharing the forged Aadhaar card to falsely portray the girl as an adult, facilitating her illegal marriage and trafficking. "The mobile phone used to create and share the fake Aadhaar card was recovered from his possession. He used a PDF editor application to manipulate the document," the DCP added. The girl later tried to call her grandmother from someone's phone and managed to give a missed call. The family provided the phone number to the police, who traced and rescued her from Shamli on Aug 16. Police earlier arrested three men in connection with the case — the man she was forcibly married to and two others who facilitated the marriage. The accused were identified as Vikas, 20, Ashu, 55, and the 40-year-old man. Investigations revealed that the marriage took place secretly at a house in west Delhi's Moti Nagar. "The marriage happened in secret; only the family of the 40-year-old man and the two accused were present. They also recorded videos of the ceremony. The girl was threatened with dire consequences if she objected to the marriage," an investigator said. He further added that some of the accused's roles is under investigation to determine whether he was part of a human trafficking racket involved in supplying minor girls as domestic workers. "We have found that one of them was frequently visiting remote areas in Odisha. We are now verifying whether girls were lured from there," a police official said.
