Outrage in China: Secretly filmed photos of Chinese women shared on Telegram chatgroups with hundreds of users
Telegram chat groups
with some having hundreds of thousands of users. These images and clips have reportedly been captured secretly in both private and public spaces.
According to a report by news agency Reuters, the revelations – initially reported by Chinese state media – suggest that a Chinese-language
Telegram
forum named "
MaskPark tree hole forum
" distributed images of women secretly filmed or photographed in locations including public toilets. This particular group amassed over 100,000 anonymous members in China and overseas.
The report detailed that some users posted private images of their current or ex-girlfriends and female family members. Disturbingly, footage of women secretly filmed using pinhole cameras in public spaces was allegedly being sold within these chat groups.
Users typically rely on VPN software to access Telegram, which is blocked in the country. The Southern Daily report also revealed the existence of other Telegram sub-forums targeting Chinese-speaking users with pornographic content, some boasting up to 900,000 members.

How Chinese people reacted to leaked private photos and videos
The revelations quickly gained traction on Chinese microblogging platform Weibo, with related hashtags garnering over 270 million views on Tuesday (July 26).
One user commented, "It's truly frightening how secret filming has infiltrated everyday life."
A female victim, who remained anonymous, recounted her harrowing experience to the newspaper: "My ex-boyfriend secretly took photos of me during sex, posted my private photos to the group without my permission and publicised my social media accounts."
What Telegram has to say
Telegram has said that 'the sharing of non-consensual pornography is explicitly forbidden by Telegram's terms of service and is removed whenever discovered.' A spokesperson added that moderators 'proactively monitor public parts of the platform and accept reports in order to remove millions of pieces of harmful content each day.' The main MaskPark forum has since been taken down, though some smaller sub-forums reportedly remain active.

25 gold coins of ‘historic value' unearthed during Aligarh drain dig
1 2 Agra: Labourers laying a drain in a newly developed settlement in Barheti village under Quarsi police station limits in Aligarh found 25 gold coins, prompting police to halt construction work and seal the site. A letter informing the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) about the coins was sent on Wednesday, an official said. ASI is examining the coins to determine their vintage and significance but "believe them to be of historical value". The discovery caused a commotion in the area, drawing a large crowd and raising the possibility that more coins might still be buried underground. The coins were found on Thursday while residents were digging dry soil from an open plot to place beneath the new drainage pipeline. Jameel Ahmed, a local, said the earlier drain had been broken by two women, which led to wastewater from around 56 houses flooding the area. "We collected Rs 500–600 from the residents and began building a new drain. While digging, we noticed something shiny in the soil. They were yellow in colour with inscriptions that looked like Urdu. We found 11 coins at first, but someone in the locality was unwell and needed attention, so we couldn't continue." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villas Prices In Dubai Might Be More Affordable Than You Think Villas In Dubai | Search Ads Get Quote Undo Ahmed added that the settlement lacks basic civic infrastructure. "There is no proper sewage or drainage here. I used to live in Gol Market, but I've now purchased a plot in this new area because land is more affordable." Later that evening, the village pradhan's son, Satish Rajput, arrived at the scene. "The pradhan said our names were being mentioned, and that we should hand over the coins to avoid any problems," Ahmed said. "I had placed them in a water container and gave them to his son. The police came afterward, but I had already handed them over." Rajput confirmed receiving the 11 coins and said he immediately informed the police. "During questioning later that night, 15 more coins were recovered," he said, adding that it was unclear whether the coins had come from the trench or the adjacent field. "They said coins kept surfacing as they dug. There may still be more underground." Police said a labourer may have struck a buried pouch. Social media videos showed coins with inscriptions in Persian, suggesting they may be of historical value. Aligarh DSP Sarvam Singh said the coins were deposited in the district treasury. Videography was done, and excavation at the site was suspended.

Yamunanagar: Police gunned down a wanted criminal accused of carrying out firings in order to extort money from businessmen in an encounter on the Ratoli-Khera road here on Wednesday morning, said an official. Yamunanagar superintendent of police (SP) Kamaldeep Goyal said the operation was part of an ongoing anti-gangster. Slain criminal Bheem alias Bikeshwar, who hailed from Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, had a reward of Rs 20,000 on his head and was wanted in several serious criminal cases, said the SP. According to police, Bheem was facing cases of attempted murder, extortion, drug trafficking, and possession of illegal firearms. Acting on a tip-off, a police team reached Ratoli-Khera road to apprehend him, said the SP. He claimed that upon spotting the cops, Bikeshwar opened fire, prompting the police to retaliate. Karnataka high court imposes cost on petitioners for misuse of legal process
Bengaluru: The Karnataka high court imposed a Rs 10 lakh cost on six petitioners for concealing crucial facts and misusing legal procedures in a land acquisition case. "The petition, replete with suppression and bereft of bona fides, must meet its dismissal, not dismissal simpliciter, but with an exemplary cost. If the petition is now entertained on any score, it would amount to putting a premium on the litigative persistence of the petitioners and rewarding abuse of the process and tacit fraud played on this court. This forms the ninth petition on the same cause of action, seeking the very same prayer, differently worded, after the dismissal of eight rounds of litigation, all of which are suppressed in the subject petition," Justice M Nagaprasanna observed in his order. The case involves legal representatives of Venkata Bhovi and Hanumantha Bhovi, who received 2 acres and 20 guntas of land in Nagadevanahalli, Bengaluru, through an official memorandum dated Jan 9, 1979. The land was previously under their unauthorised occupation, and the deputy commissioner subsequently granted them ownership, recording their names in revenue records. The divisional commissioner deposited the award amount on Oct 9, 1987. Following Venkata's death, his legal heirs sought to remove the property from acquisition through various representations. They cited a draft notification under Section 48(1) of the Act from April 23, 1993. The petitioners approached the authorities on Jan 24, 2025, requesting a no-objection certificate, claiming their lands were excluded from acquisition based on a Sept 3, 1993 notification. Justice M Nagaprasanna noted that the petitioners' latest argument relied on a previously unmentioned 1993 notification. The court observed that this revelation came after eight rounds of litigation, characterising it as judicial manipulation rather than justice-seeking. "What I witness is not the pursuit of justice, but a game of judicial hide and seek, where one of the family members of the grantee seeks invocation of the writ jurisdiction, while the other member hides. Later, the other member seeks, and the former hides. Such cynical use of writ jurisdiction under Article 226 of the Constitution of India must be arrested in its tracks," Justice Nagaprasanna observed while dismissing the petition by Gangamma and five others to prevent abuse of judicial process and ensure finality in judicial decisions. —— BOX 3-decade saga The first round of litigation started in 1993. In 1994, the high court dismissed the petition. The second challenge was made in 1997 and the same was also dismissed. The third one was a suit filed in the civil court in 1993 which also met the same fate. In 2003, another petition was filed in the high court and was dismissed. In 2004, a second civil suit was filed and the same was dismissed as not maintainable. In 2007, the children of Vektata filed a petition on the same cause of action and it was dismissed on the grounds of delay. The order was challenged before a division bench in 2012 and the order of the single bench was affirmed in Nov 2022. In between, during the pendency of the writ appeal, a petition was filed in 2016 which was eighth in the series. However, when the petition was pending, the latest petition was filed on March 4, 2025. The petition filed in 2016 was withdrawn.
