BBC Scotland announced it plans to close the facility after it was revealed in March that the popular soap will be axed.
Dumbarton Studios has been described as a "vital hub" for the country's television industry.
It has helped develop local talent and has been a location for filming other shows, such as Still Game, Shetland and Two Doors Down.
BBC Scotland's lease on Dumbarton Studios will come to an end in September next year.
Firewalker Pictures is seeking to take over the facility and safeguard its future.
Maureen Hascoet, director of the production firm, hailed Dumbarton Studios and said "it deserves more than to fade into history".
She added: "Our vision is to preserve its heritage while opening the doors to fresh voices, emerging filmmakers, and groundbreaking content. Who we choose to be right now as an industry and how we show up in this deal will determine our destiny.
"It's about more than preserving Scotland's film and TV infrastructure. It's about investing in ourselves as storytellers and finding our place as leaders in the global economy."
Firewalker Pictures is seeking to invest in upgrading Dumbarton Studios in a bid to attract domestic and international productions in the future.
Ms Hascoet added that her company is keen to work with the local community, industry partners and government bodies.

Firewalker Pictures is in ongoing talks with Dumbarton Studios' current owner, Westerwood Properties.
River City is set in the fictional area of Shieldinch in the West End of Glasgow.
Dumbarton Studios includes a huge custom-built, including the Tall Ship pub and Oyster Cafe.

The couple, who first appeared on The X Factor in 2014, had an intimate wedding ceremony near Glasgow in a special nod to their Scots roots on the big day. Two former X Factor stars have tied the knot in a stunning Scottish celebration, as they said 'I do' at an intimate venue near Glasgow at the weekend. The pair were last seen on the ITV talent show after nearly a decade from being on our screens. Glasgow singer Emily Middlemas featured on X Factor back in 2014 but didn't progress to the live performances. She made a comeback two years on and not only reached the semi-final, but also shared the journey with her partner, Ryan Lawrie. The teen sweethearts had started their romance in 2015, and Emily was left devastated when Ryan, from Coatbridge, was left walking following a sing-off against controversial rapper Honey G. Thankfully, it was only tears of joy on Friday, August 15, as the pair exchanged vows in a ceremony close to Glasgow. Emily, 26, posted a collection of snaps from her special day on Instagram alongside the caption: "Mr & Mrs Lawrie." The singer, who performs under the stage name ili, appeared radiant in a graceful wedding dress featuring a sweetheart neckline. Winners of the 2025 World Pipe Band Championships revealed
More than 35,000 spectators attended the two-day event, which brings together the best pipers and drummers from around the globe to compete in what is described as the 'ultimate battle of the bands'. This year's championships finished on Saturday, August 16, with last year's winners, Inveraray & District Pipe Band, retaining the top title. Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band of Lisburn, Northern Ireland, took home second place while North Lanarkshire's Shotts & Dykehead Caledonia Pipe Band won third place. Audiences from all over the world were able to view the highlights from the championships on both days via live streaming. This year, the major event included a dedicated youth competition. More than 1500 under-18s took part in the new feature, which celebrated and recognised young talent in piping and drumming. The grade winners were: Juvenile - George Watson's College; Novice Juvenile A - West Lothian Schools; Novice Juvenile B - St John's College Harare of Zimbabwe. Highlights from the 2025 World Pipe Band Championships will be broadcast on BBC Scotland on Thursday, August 21.
