Rohan Gurbaxani: Working with Anurag Basu sir on Metro… In Dino felt like stepping onto a blank canvas every single day
Rohan Gurbaxani, who appeared in Bandish Bandits, Made In Heaven and Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, will now be seen in
Anurag Basu
's Metro… In Dino as Aryan, an IT professional turned painter. The actor explains that portraying a painter 'was unique because painting brings a certain gentleness.
I practiced freehand drawing and painting, and as a child I took painting classes.
That taught me about letting go and allowing your mind to run free.'
Recalling his time on Basu's set, he shares, 'That concept was exactly how I felt on sir's set — every day felt like going to a clean canvas. He doesn't work with a script: you might think you know the outline, but on dada's set you have no script, so it's a fresh canvas each day.
I used different, intuitive strokes with Aryan and every day felt like a new painting.'
When asked about working with
Konkona Sen Sharma
and
Pankaj Tripathi
for the film, Rohan says, 'Working with Konkona and Pankaj ji was something every young actor dreams of. I grew up watching them—they bring truth and realism to every performance, and simply being around them teaches you a lot. From day one on set, they were friendly, welcoming, and warm.'
He adds, 'They share a calm, composed energy and come alive when the camera rolls. Being opposite actors like them, who deliver such honesty with each line, pushes you to match their truthfulness. I'm open to receiving and reacting, not thinking about my own performance, because acting is all about responding — and from them I learnt so much.'

At the event, Aryan delivered his first-ever public speech, which fans found both heartfelt and staged. Aryan Khan's first speech Standing on stage for the first time, Aryan admitted he was extremely nervous. 'Bohot nervous hu kyunki pehli baar main aap sabke saamne stage par aaya hu. Aur isliye do din aur teen raaton se main ye speech baar baar lagataar practice kiye jaa raha hu,' he said. He went on to add, 'In fact, main itna nervous hu ki maine teleprompter pe bhi likha diya hai. Just in case yaha ki bijli chale jaaye, main kaagaz ke tukde pe bhi likhke laaya hu. Torch ke saath. Aur agar tab bhi mujhse mistake ho jaaye, to Papa hain na!' The audience broke into laughter when Shah Rukh Khan was spotted with a copy of Aryan's speech taped to his back, adding to the lighthearted moment. VIDEO | Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's (@iamsrk) son Aryan, at the launch of his directorial debut web series Bads of Bollywood, says, "I am very nervous because I'm coming in front of you all for the first time. I'm so nervous that I even wrote everything on the teleprompter.… Fans react to Aryan's words Soon after the speech, clips from the event went viral and some observed that the debut director appeared nervous and still needed to polish his public-speaking skills. A section of social media was quick to criticize. A user shared a Reddit thread saying, 'Ye kya tha? Humble hone aur honest hone ki acting?!' One user commented, 'Why can't star kids speak Hindi anymore?' Another added, 'The whole thing was scripted but he looked nervous compared to others. Also, at points they overdid it, I feel.' Someone else commented, 'He needs more training.' On the other side, some commenters came forward in his support. One user defended him saying, 'Unnecessary hate. It was a skit and SRK had the script written for him. It's funny how people think he was lip-syncing. SRK was literally standing beside him. His voice is about 70% similar to SRK's but not so identical that you can't tell them apart.' Another wrote, 'Why do you guys have so much hate for everyone? Do you think only you're real and everyone else is fake? This was literally his first media interaction, of course he was nervous. Please grow up and stop searching for negativity in everything.' One more user defended him, saying, 'He is a director, he doesn't need stage-speaking skills. No one has ever judged other directors for their stage presence.' Thanking his mother and the team While thanking the cast and crew of the series, Aryan also expressed his gratitude to his mother, Gauri Khan. 'I want to thank all those people, without whom it would have been impossible to make this show, the entire team of Netflix, the entire team of Red Chillies, T-Series, and Bhushan Ji, my co-creator, Manav and Bilal, and of course my whole cast and crew,' Aryan said. He then added a personal note: 'Now, I would like to call my mother (Gauri Khan) on stage for producing this show and, most importantly, for producing me.' 'The Ba***ds of Bollywood': Aryan Khan says he was nervous, admitted to using teleprompter
Aryan Khan , who has made his directorial debut with the upcoming streaming show 'The Ba***ds of Bollywood', had fun at the stage, and also engaged in a banter with the media during the launch of the first look of his show. The first look was unveiled at the YRF studios in the Andheri area of Mumbai on Wednesday. During the event, Aryan, who is also the son of the Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan , spoke with the media stationed at the venue. He admitted to being nervous, and shared how he covered all corners for his first media address. He told the media, "I have been practising nonstop! In fact, I am so nervous that the line is included in the teleprompter. If there is no electricity here all of a sudden, I have kept a paper ready, along with a torch. And even then, if I make a mistake, my dad is here (Shah Rukh turned to show a printout of the speech pasted on his back). After all of this, if I make a mistake, please forgive me, this is my first time". SRK perfectly fulfilled his daddy duties as he introduced the cast of the show in his inimitable style and playful humour, including Bobby Deol, Lakshya , Sahher Bambba , Manoj Pahwa, Mona Singh, Manish Chaudhari, Raghav Juyal, Anya Singh , and Vijayant Kohli with Rajat Bedi and Gautami Kapoor . by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Talking about his son's debut, SRK earlier said in a statement, "It's a proud moment to see Aryan carve out his vision with such clarity and edge. This is storytelling that's sharp, self-aware, and unapologetically bold, and I think audiences on Netflix will connect to the heart of it as much as its style". Elsewhere, during the event, Aryan also joked that the teleprompter gave up, and said, "Now, I won't say anything. Instead, I'll let me my work speak". Produced by Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt.
