HBO Max Cancels Fan-Favorite Series After Three Seasons
It's always unfortunate to learn when a show has come to an end. Especially one like this particular series, which happens to be tied to a greater franchise. It leaves fans with that strange mix of satisfaction and emptiness – knowing the story has wrapped but wishing there was just a little more.
While it's disappointing that the series will be ending, it should hopefully come with a conclusion that fans can appreciate – which isn't always the case with a lot of series' endings in the world of streaming.
As shared via Deadline:
'And just like that… the ongoing storytelling of the Sex and the City universe is coming to an end,' said And Just Like That… showrunner Michael Patrick King in a statement released Friday morning. King further discussed the importance of the series and how grateful he is to fans of the series:
'While I was writing the last episode of And Just Like That… season 3, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop. Along with Sarah Jessica Parker, Casey Bloys and Sarah Aubrey, we decided to end the popular series this year with a two-part finale and extended the original series order from 10 episodes to 12. SJP and I held off announcing the news until now because we didn't want the word 'final' to overshadow the fun of watching the season. It's with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years.'
While the series started off strong on HBO Max, it seems to have naturally come to an end now that And Just Like That… updated fans on the Sex and the City characters' lives including Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie Bradshaw. So, while it could have potentially kept moving forward, it seems like the series has come to a logical conclusion after getting fans caught up on the story.
The show's third season is set to conclude with a two-part finale. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding HBO Max and any other potential series renewals or cancellations as we have them.

Troops trade boots for cleats at AT&T Stadium
They're used to serving our country—this week, they served up grit and greatness on one of football's biggest stages. Military members from across Texas and Oklahoma swapped their uniforms for athletic wear and stepped onto the same field where legends play: AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. Instead of drills and formations, this boot camp came with 40-yard dashes, vertical jumps and quick-reaction tests—mirroring the NFL combine. "You see jaws drop when they first step out into the stadium," said Mark Cook, military affairs representative for USAA. Troops from NAS JRB Fort Worth, Fort Hood and Fort Sill formed teams and competed head-to-head, all in the name of camaraderie—and a shot at Cowboys game tickets. For many, this wasn't just a day off duty—it was a dream come true. "It was amazing," said Sadie Clark, a service member. "It's my first time ever being to a field in person. I always see it on TV... but to actually be down here and see what it's like for the Cowboys to look up and see all the fans—it was just awesome." The event, hosted by USAA and the Dallas Cowboys, is part of a larger effort to celebrate the military community—not just with words, but with experiences that remind them just how valued they are. "I think the biggest thing is the teamwork," one participant shared. "It's a big morale booster to step away from daily duties and have fun together." After the competition wrapped, service members were treated to a private VIP tour of the Medal of Honor Museum and a behind-the-scenes look at Cowboys practice—capping off a day designed to honor their service in a way they'll never forget. "It's an amazing boost for our morale... to do something crazy like this," said Clark with a grin.

Yellowstone spinoff to film in Ferris, boosting hopes for tourism and growth
Popular television shows filmed on location have proven to boost the image and economies of the cities and towns that welcome them. That's what the city of Ferris is hoping will happen with the announcement that a new spinoff of the hit series Yellowstone will use it as a primary filming location. City leaders and business owners spoke with CBS News Texas about the excitement of seeing Ferris in the entertainment spotlight. With its western décor and a charming location in the historic downtown square, Javier Martinez believes his restaurant would be the perfect setting for the new show. "This decoration we have, when somebody walks in here for the first time, well, they like it," said Martinez, owner of Javier's restaurant. "Obviously the advertising will help us a lot." Martinez and other Ferris business owners could soon be opening their doors to some of the biggest names in Hollywood, both in front of and behind the cameras. Beth and Rip, two of the most popular characters from Yellowstone, will be featured in the new spinoff. Production company 101 Studios has notified the city that Ferris has been chosen as one of the primary locations for the project, which has been described as a hopeful multi-season production. Charlie Hatfield, a Ferris city councilmember and longtime publisher of the Ellis County Press, said he's a fan of Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan and hopes the show will bring growth to the area. "I'm a big fan of Taylor Sheridan — Tulsa King, Lioness, Landman, the whole nine yards," Hatfield said. "This would do nothing but help us grow." Hatfield added that even a small cameo for his newspaper would be a thrill. "As long as they get the newspaper in a long shot, I'm happy with that," he said. City leaders say they don't yet know when production will begin, only that Ferris will serve as a primary location for the new show. "I think it's just a picturesque town that's unique," Hatfield said. "I live two blocks from work and I walk anywhere I wanna go and people are friendly, and I think that's part of the charm of our city." Southfork Ranch in Parker County remains a tourist destination more than 30 years after the original Dallas series ended. Filming locations for Landman in Fort Worth are also becoming must-see attractions for fans. Ferris, a town of about 5,000 located 18 miles south of Dallas, is preparing to be the next.

Yuba City's Concerts in the Park are back after Hard Rock Sacramento steps up to sponsor event
Yuba City voters shot down a 1% sales tax hike in last November's election, sending a ripple through the city's budget and canceling a beloved event in the community, Concerts in the Park. But thanks to an unexpected sponsor, they're back on. "We went from it's not in the budget to hard rock stepped up and hello Yuba City," said Dave Shaw, mayor of Yuba City. Concerts in the Park are back. The series was canceled earlier this year after the city was facing a $1.2 million budget shortfall. "It's unfortunate, but I understand the city is tightening its belt for whatever reason it may be, and it's impacting the amount of money they can invest in improving the community," said Yuba City resident Dan Lopez. "When we first started this journey because of budgetary cuts, it was unfortunately these great things that were first on the chopping block," Shaw said. The summer concerts are well-loved by community members, so the city turned to Hard Rock Sacramento for help. "We wanted to be involved. We wanted to make sure that artists in our area have the opportunity to be spotlighted and, of course, people in the region can come out and enjoy a fun evening every Thursday night," said Mark Birtha, president of Hard Rock Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain. "I think it's great that they're stepping up and helping the community," said Lopez. "It's a form of entertainment, and it helps people pass the time in the evenings." The summer concerts are free, and everything is local, from the musicians to the vendors. But it is a hot August night. "Stay hydrated, bring water, bring an ice chest, get the towels that are wet," Shaw said. After Thursday, there will be four more Concerts in the Park. The event runs on Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
