The winner is the production ' Sinvocea' by DeLaurentis, a DJ and producer based in Paris, who incorporated AI into her electronic compositions, utilising AI-generated vocals and real-time processing. A pioneer in the use of AI in music since 2018, DeLaurentis incorporated these tools into her creative process: treating technology as an extension of her voice, she has developed a unique approach where real-time vocal improvisation generates visual shapes and colours, creating a dynamic dialogue between human and machine. Her latest work, Sinvocea, is a visual instrument that explores the intersection of sound and image, transforming performances into ephemeral moments of research and expression. By using AI to 'draw' with her voice, she expands the boundaries of live performance and synesthetic creativity.
The contest, centred on the theme " Experience of a Beat ", challenged artists to use AI to create immersive performances blending sound, visual art, and audience interaction. The jury — composed of Albertino, Tini Gessler, Nicola Gotti, Fleur Shore, Jacopo Di Cera, DJ Tennis, Damir Ivic, Tessa Nijdam, Heleen Blanken, Ali Demirel, Ale Lippi, Auronda Scalera & Alfredo Cramerotti, Annibale Siconolfi, and Seth Troxler — reviewed over 300 live performance projects from around the world to select five finalists.
The finalists were, I AM JAS, from Barcelona, is a DJ whose sets blend Afrobeat, techno, and experimental sound techniques, with an interest in integrating AI into live mixing; Helang, a DJ and producer based in New York, who combines techno and trance influences with a focus on digital identity and technology; Marco Puccini, a visual artist from Milan, who works with digital media and scenography, using AI tools to build responsive visual environments for live settings and the collective MIRROW, based in Turin, with their project that explores the interaction between algorithmic music generation and visual output in a live performance context
These finalists showcased their AI-integrated live sets on the LAB stage at Kappa FuturFestival, performing on Friday and Saturday from 14:00 to 15:00, with the winner announced at the close of Saturday's event.
' I am very proud and thankful for the recognition. I used AI to produce music for many years and when the opportunity to use AI in real-time came, I took the chance to interact with the AI live, and it became a conversation between my voice and AI generated visuals, which are based on the pitch, tone, volume, speed and vibrato of the sounds I generate. As the equipment is quite complex and fragile, I tend to perform in studios, so this was the first time I performed Sinvocea on stage, in a DJ booth, and to be able to do it at Kappa FuturFestival was incredible' commented DeLaurentis, the winner of the 2025 AIMC.
'The winner and all the finalists of the Reply AI Music Contest demonstrate how Artificial Intelligence can unlock entirely new dimensions of musical expression—innovative, immersive, and deeply emotional—while preserving the human essence ' said Filippo Rizzante, CTO of Reply. 'Generative algorithms are reshaping the creative landscape, not only in what we produce—images, videos, sound—but in how we create. In music, we see live performances as an area with great potential from which hybrid forms will emerge, combining audio with dynamic visual elements. The Reply AI Music Contest serves as a platform to spotlight this evolution, giving emerging talents the chance to explore frontier technologies and build the skills shaping the future of music and live performance.'
At Kappa FuturFestival, we've always embraced innovation and creative experimentation. Partnering with Reply to host the AI Music Contest was a natural extension of our mission to push the boundaries of live performance. This collaboration allowed us to create a unique platform where technology meets artistry, demonstrating how AI can amplify emotional depth and reshape the way audiences experience music.'Gianluca Brignone, Partner and Chief Innovation Officer at Kappa FuturFestival.

CRWV update: CoreWeave $9 billion data deal to buy Core Scientific sends both stocks tumbling

AI cloud computing giant CoreWeave announced on Monday it has signed a deal to acquire Core Scientific, a data center provider, in an all-stock deal valued at $9 billion. The news sent share of both companies tumbling in early trading on Monday, with CoreWeave (NASDAQ: CRWV) slightly recovering by midday, down almost 3%, while Core Scientific (NASDAQ:CORZ) remained in the red, down a staggering 16%. However, Core Scientific stock is still up about 25% since the deal was first reported by the Wall Street Journal last month, as noted by Investopedia. The deal, which is expected to close by the fourth quarter of 2025—subject to both regulatory approval, and approval from Core Scientific's stockholders—will enable CoreWeave to bring Core Scientific's nationwide data center infrastructure in-house, so it can support large-scale artificial intelligence development as it races to compete in the AI boom. 'This acquisition accelerates our strategy to deploy AI and HPC workloads at scale,' CoreWeave's CEO and co-founder Michael Intrator said in a statement. 'Verticalizing the ownership of Core Scientific's high-performance data center infrastructure enables CoreWeave to significantly enhance operating efficiency and de-risk our future expansion, solidifying our growth trajectory. Owning this foundational layer of our platform will enhance our performance and expertise as we continue helping customers unleash AI's full potential.' Both companies have a history of working together, and the deal follows a previous merger bid last year, which Core Scientific rejected on the grounds it was too low, per the Journal. The deal is forecast to save CoreWeave some $10 billion in future leasing contract costs from Core Scientific, according to Yahoo Finance. CoreWeave and Core Scientific by the numbers CoreWeave went public this past March in a highly anticipated initial public offering, which CNBC called the biggest venture-backed IPO for a U.S. company since 2021, following a long lapse of tech IPOs. In its March prospectus filing, the company, whose largest customer is Microsoft, reported a net loss of $863 million, with revenue growth of 737% last year to $1.92 billion. It has a market capitalization of $76.73 billion.

Isabel Marant Resort 2026 Collection

When Isabel Marant, the brand, goes in for romance, it's always with a touch of grit. Take florals: garden blooms may be the classic trope for spring, but here creative director Kim Bekker grafted them with a lashing of Victoriana and the Far West to come up with a different, more nuanced attitude. 'We wanted to create a compelling contrast between delicate and tough elements,' Bekker offered during a showroom preview. She wasn't just talking about the women's pre-collection; the men's lineup was plenty poetic, too. When treated as all-over motifs, florals cropped up sprinkled like polka dots over a draped jersey dress, or as a kind of a hybrid between an ikat and a tie-dye motif. More impactful, however, were abstractions rendered through laser cutting on a white leather minidress or etched in metal studs and gradient eyelets on a black velvet jacket. Fans who go in for a little cowboy inspo will have fun with the western-leaning blouse and black dress here. But this collection is just as much about Victoriana, with cinched waists, ruffles, and revisited mutton sleeves-as-power shoulders. Refreshingly, save a couple of very pretty numbers in densely-enough worked lace, the brand isn't leaning hard on transparency. 'Sexiness doesn't need to be nakedness,' Bekker quipped. Instead, soft fabrics, faux fur, and lace made for easy, feminine silhouettes muscled up a bit with strong statement earrings. Edginess came in staples like raw denim, leather jackets, and boots that nodded westward but were carefully dosed and filtered by way of the Place des Victoires. Speaking of Parisian chic, the cult, slouchy, minuscule-heeled Edrik boot is back for tucking in billowy trousers or pairing with stick-straight jeans, now with laser-cut moons that wink as the wearer walks. But there's a new low ballerina boot in town, too: the Ferix seems to be Isabel Marant's answer to mesh. Take a closer look, and you'll see those cut-outs are tiny hearts—how in the world they pulled that off without going 'cute' is the brand's secret sauce.
