Johnny Depp has revealed he has empty-nest syndrome now his daughter and son are in their 20s.
The 62-year-old actor - who has Lily-Rose, 25, and Jack, 22, with former partner Vanessa Paradis - misses the days his children were still young enough to call him "Papa".
"Years get away from us, don't they?... I'm of the empty-nest syndrome," he told the Sunday Times newspaper.
Asked if he misses having his kids around, he replied: "Oh man, my kids growing up in the south of France in their youth?
"I was Papa. I cannot tell you how much I loved being Papa. Then, suddenly, Papa was out the window. I was Dad. But Papa was awesome and I'm getting old enough for Papa to possibly come back. Some motherf***er's going to have to call me Papa!"
The Pirates of the Caribbean star is currently living in London, but admitted the only place that has ever really felt like home was France.
"Well, I don't spend much time in the US. So there is the joint in the Bahamas or here. But home. Truly, the first time I felt I had a home was the place in the south of France where Vanessa and I raised the kiddies. That's the only place that ever felt like home."
Although Lily-Rose is a successful actor in her own right, Depp would never have wanted her to follow in his footsteps.
"Sometimes kids say to me, 'I want to be an actor, what's your advice?' And I say, 'Don't be!' I know what's coming for them," he said.

Melissa Barrera doesn't want to be restricted to horror parts
Melissa Barrera wants to "stretch" herself as an actress. The 34-year-old star has established herself as a scream queen with roles in movies such as Scream, Abigail and Your Monster but is determined to take parts in a range of genres on the big screen. Melissa told The Seeds podcast: "I love horror. It's super fun. And there's so many great horror scripts. "I also have never liked putting myself in a box of any kind, and I know that I have a lot other skills that... I want to showcase, and I want to like play with. So, I feel like I would get bored – I do get bored easily if I'm doing the same thing or the same genre." The Mexican actress believes that her background has meant that she had to work harder to be cast in certain roles during her career. Melissa – who was dropped from her role as Sam Carpenter in the Scream franchise in 2023 after making controversial comments about the war in Gaza – said: "You kind of have to fight for more room. "People (are) not necessarily looking for people that look like you for a role, but you got to kind of try and... knock on the door and be like, 'Hey, I know you're not looking for me. Barrera revealed that she was desperate to land a role in the 2022 picture Scream as she knew that it would provide other Latino stars with opportunities as her character in the flick had a family. An Armadale teen's bizarre decision to dress as an orange 'sandwich board' inspired by Katy Perry's 2022 Menu Log commercial has resulted in an unforgettable moment on stage with the pop star. After turning 16 on Friday, Archie Richards used Perry's Sunday night RAC Arena show as the setting for his birthday party. Summoned to the stage by the performer alongside several other fans in eye-catching outfits, the teen was encouraged to rap a few famous lines from the advert — and even took some snaps with the star he's admired for more than 10 years.
