Sophia Bush recalls 'emotionally abusive' experience on TV set
Sophia Bush suffered "every kind" of abuse on the set of a TV show.
The 42-year-old actress joined the cast of a TV series after leaving 'One Tree Hill', the hit drama show, back in 2012, but Sophia encountered a toxic working environment and claims to have suffered abuse from "someone old enough to be [her] father".
During an appearance on the 'Reclaiming With Monica Lewinsky' podcast, Sophia shared: "I had a workplace ongoing trauma revolving around an unending situation with someone old enough to be my father. I was like, 'What is happening?'"
Sophia actually had the opportunity to leave the show after two years, but she was determined to continue.
The actress - who refused to name the TV show - explained: "I had the opportunity after two years to go.
"I did the thing I learned to do and said, 'I will not have my integrity diminished by someone else's behaviour. I will be unflappable. I will come to work and do my job.' And I couldn't."
Sophie explained that the next two years became a "physical hell", revealing that she suffered a "crazy weight fluctuation" and "crippling anxiety" because of her troubles at work.
The actress - who played Erin Lindsay on 'Chicago P.D', the NBC police drama, between 2014 and 2017 - said: "To be hit with anxiety in such a way that I could barely be out of the house. If people touched me in public, I would jump out of my skin. I couldn't talk to people anymore. I couldn't talk to strangers anymore. I couldn't be looked at anymore."
Sophia found the whole experience to be mentally and physically "exhausting".
She explained: "Because I had to go to work ready for war all the time, I had to learn where to stand to not get elbowed in the ribs or how to block a scene to not be touched. It was just exhausting."
Sophia actually received an apology from a network executive after leaving the show in 2017.
She said: "By October [2017], I got a call from an executive apologising for what they'd done and not done. And [they] said, 'We're very aware we just made it out of that unscathed.'"

The actress said the show was on her 'bucket list,' and while she didn't name the title, Bush confirmed that it was a series she signed onto after starring in One Tree Hill from 2003 to 2012. Bush, 42, notably portrayed Erin Lindsay in Chicago P.D. from 2014 to 2017 — leaving after Season 4 due to its alleged toxic work environment. When Lewinsky asked Bush, who has previously discussed being 'miserable' on the set, if she experienced something 'emotionally abusive' on set, Bush described it as 'every kind of abusive.' Bush said she was 'finally' able to exit the police drama in April 2017 – just three months before the #MeToo movement rocked Hollywood. 'By October [2017], I got a call from an executive apologising for what they'd done and not done,' she claimed. 'And [they] said, 'We're very aware we just made it out of that unscathed.'' Bush continued, 'I was like, 'Glad you did, I'm in so much therapy. I've been diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder, but I'm thrilled you guys didn't get dragged through the press.'' The TV star admitted that it was a 'weird thing to deal with.' While Bush initially left the show without giving a reason, she later admitted to 'drowning' on set of the NBC show in a December 2017 interview. The following year she shared on The Armchair Expert podcast that she 'felt so ignored' during her stint on the series. 'I feel like I was standing butt naked, bruised and bleeding in the middle of Times Square, screaming at the top of my lungs and not a single person stopped to ask if they could help me,' she said at the time. Cheers star George Wendt's cause of death revealed
George Wendt's cause of death has been revealed. The Cheers star died on May 20 aged 76, and now TMZ has released his official cause of death as per the certificate obtained from Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. It lists the actor's cause of death as 'cardiac arrest with congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, and hypertension as underlying causes' and adds that 'end-stage renal disease — kidney failure — and hyperlipidemia' were also contributing factors. Best known for his role as beer-swilling Norm Peterson on the hit NBC bar sitcom Cheers, Wendt had spoken candidly about the impact of the show on his life. He said in a past interview: 'I was lucky to be part of something that became such a beloved part of people's lives.' Born in 1948, Wendt became a household name throughout the run of Cheers, which was on air for 11 seasons from 1982 to 1993. Despite a rocky start with low ratings that nearly saw the show cancelled after its first season, the sitcom grew to become a defining sitcom of its era, spending eight of its remaining 10 seasons in the top 10 shows and peaking as the most-watched program in its ninth season. The series received 117 Emmy nominations, winning 28 awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series four times. Wendt was nominated for six consecutive Emmys for his portrayal of Norm, appearing in every episode until the series ended in May 1993. Outside of Cheers, Wendt appeared in various television roles, including Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Columbo. Wendt was married to Bernadette Birkett, who voiced his never-seen sitcom wife Vera on Cheers, since 1978. The couple had three children — a daughter and two sons.
