We are delighted to announce that our talented students from ISWK Cambridge represented Oman at the 2nd Asian Yogasana Sport Championship held from 24th to 27th April 2025 at the prestigious Indira Gandhi Stadium, New Delhi, India.

With participation from over 21 countries including India, Japan, Mongolia, China, UAE, and others, the competition was intense and inspiring.
The prestigious event saw participation from 21 countries including India, Japan, Mongolia, Nepal, China, UAE, and others. Competing against the finest talent across Asia, Oman achieved a remarkable 4th position, winning an impressive 11 medals:

Our students showcased exceptional skill, discipline, and commitment, contributing to Oman's remarkable 4th place finish with a total of 11 medals (1 Gold, 3 Silver, and 7 Bronze).
The achievers from ISWK Cambridge are:
• Sanmat Kaur Ajmani (Grade 6C) – Participation in Yogasana events.
• Yashvi Rajesh Babariya (Grade 6C) – Bronze Medal in Back Bending Event in the Uder-10 to 18+ Girls' Category.
• Paranjay Vyas (Grade 8C) – Bronze Medal in Forward Bending Event in the Under-10 to 18 Boys' Category.
• Vivaan Rai (Grade 9C) – Silver and Bronze Medals in Back Bending and Traditional Events in the Under-10 to 18 Boys' Category.
Adding to this glory, their Team Coach, Mr. Bikram Mishra, also brought laurels to Oman by winning two Bronze Medals in the Senior Category (U35 to U45) — in both Back Bending and Traditional Events.
This achievement stands as a testament to the dedication, talent, and discipline of our young athletes.

It's something that I really cherish. Oman hopes for direct World Cup spot dashed as Jordan win 3-0 in Muscat
MUSCAT- A dominating Jordan outplayed hosts Oman 3-0 in their penultimate AFC Asian Qualifiers - Road to 26 Group B tie at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on Thursday. The defeat ended Rasheed Jaber-coached Red Warriors' hopes of a direct spot from the group as the top two would seal the berth. With just one game remaining, Oman, now at 10 points, can manage only three more points, which would not be enough to even keep the third spot as they are now fourth. South Korea lead the standings and have qualified with 17 points while Jordan after the win are second at 16. Iraq are third with 13 and the match between Jordan and Iraq in Amman on 10 June will decide the second team from the group to seal the spot. Oman take on Palestine in their final game of the round on 10 June with Palestine at fifth spot with seven points. Kuwait are at bottom with six points. Jordan will remain in pole position against Iraq as they only have to avoid defeat to advance. Jordan's win against Oman was marked by Ali Olwan's hat-trick. At the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, both sides tested each other in the first 10 minutes, and Oman captain and keeper Faiz Al Rusheidi had his first shot of adrenaline when Mousa Al Ta'mari put the ball past him in the 11th minute only for the Ligue 1 midfielder to be ruled offside. The hosts' slow and steady build-up was hampered by poor finishing, with Abdul Al Mushaifri and Harib Al Saadi both fluffing their shots in the 15th and 19th minutes respectively. Issam Al Sabhi then had a golden opportunity to put Oman ahead, but his close range shot in the 24th minute was resolutely palmed away by keeper Yazeed Abulaila. Shifas excels in World Masters Games in Taipei
KABEER YOUSUF @kabiyousef An expatriate sports teacher in Oman has bagged bronze medal in the 35+ handball category at the World Masters Games 2025 held in Taipei which in turn has also marked India's first-ever international medal in Handball. PB Shifas, a handball and basketball coach at the Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir (ISWK) feels all his 15 years of imparting training at the school, clubbed with his skill and leadership on the court were instrumental in securing this milestone victory at the international sporting event. 'This is a proud moment not only for handball as a sport but for every aspiring player across the continent who wants to excel in their chosen sports arena,' said Shifas, adding 'It's an honour to represent the country of my birth and the country of my choice 'Oman', and is an incredible honour.' The team led by Shifas displayed exceptional teamwork, determination, and passion, overcoming tough international competition to bring glory to the nation. The ISWK school management said that this achievement not only marks a personal milestone for Shifas but also India's first-ever international medal in handball, making it a defining moment in the country's sporting history. The teams have consistently excelled, participating in national-level tournaments for the last 11 years under his mentorship. 'This is a remarkable achievement and a proud moment for Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir and all Indian schools in Oman. Shifas' dedication, perseverance, and passion for sports have not only led to this prestigious international recognition but also continue to inspire our students every day. We salute his spirit and contribution," said DN Rao, Principal of ISWK. Before achieving international recognition, Shifas was a prominent handball player in India, having represented Kerala University and Mahatma Gandhi University for an impressive six consecutive years.
