In February 2021 she took the plunge and left her husband, Matt, 42, after four years of marriage to travel the West coast of America in a van with her dog, Ted, a Goldendoodle.
The business and wealth strategist from Joshua Tree, California, met Amanda Sartoris, 35, a strength and conditioning coach from Venice, through a mutual friend in January 2023, and fell in love.
Lauren remains on good terms with her ex-husband, Matt, 42, a financial consultant from Englewood, Colorado - but is focusing on her new life with her girlfriend.
Pitch Perfect actress Anna Camp was seen passionately kissing her girlfriend Jade Whipkey for the first time since their love affair was revealed, this week.
Camp was previously married to her Pitch Perfect co-star Skylar Astin, but they separated in 2019 less than three years after the wedding.
"It was so hard, but Matt was supportive and understanding," said Lauren.
"It felt very selfish, and I had a lot to grieve.
She added: "Matt is an amazing person and I still have a lot of care there for him.
"It's been really hard, but I had to follow my dreams."
Lauren had thought she was genuinely happy in her life until she came down with chronic hives in April 2018.

"I would go to bed every night grateful and content," she said.
"I had a home and a job I was passionate about, but I worked very long hours which caused me to come in hives.
"I was in and out of hospital until my therapist told me I needed to drop something to get better."
When Covid hit in March 2020 Lauren found herself becoming depressed.
"I could hardly get out of bed," she said.

"Matt and I started having marriage therapy and we discussed travelling.
"But all of a sudden he changed his mind and had the confidence to tell me that it wasn't what he wanted."
Lauren decided that it was something she still wanted to pursue, and she bought a van on Craigslist to travel 'for a couple of weeks'.
She had "experimented" with women in college but thought it was "just a bit of fun."
"I'd been seeing a lot of people of social media taking about their sexuality and I began to realise that I might be bisexual," she said.
"But on the trip it all clicked and I realised I was definitely gay.
"It all made sense.
"I knew I had to go back to my husband and talk about getting a divorce."

Lauren separated from Matt in February 2021 and took her belongings and went travelling along the West Coast of America ending up in Joshua Tree, California.
She met Amanda in Venice Beach, California.
"We had both just recently moved to Venice," Lauren explained.
"We ended up meeting for coffee and kept running into each other and eventually just ended up hitting things off and spent every moment we could out surfing and eventually fell in love."

After a year, the couple traveled down through Baja Mexico in a van, until the heat forced them to head back.
Lauren returned to Joshua Tree and Amanda to Venice, but they've made their long-distance relationship work through compromise.
"We spend part of our time up here, part of our time down in Venice, surfing, working, that whole thing," she said.
Lauren and Matt "stay in touch and co-parent" their dog, Ted.
As for children, Lauren says she and Amanda are prioritising their careers - but they have talked about it.
She said: "We've definitely talked about starting a family in the future and growing a family life by the beach."
She added: "I thought I was living the life of my dreams before but now I really am."

‘Marty stop that! You can't do it!': Scorsese reveals he toyed with buying a gun to threaten film studio
Oscar-winning film director Martin Scorsese threatened to buy a gun when in a rage at a film studio, according to a new docuseries about his life. After suggested edits to his 1976 movie Taxi Driver, which starred Robert De Niro, he flew into such a fury that he began threatening to take the law into his own hands. 'Marty was very upset,' says Steven Spielberg. 'We get a call at the office: 'Steve, Steve, it's Marty. Can you come over to the house? They want me to cut all the blood spurting, they want me to cut the guy who loses his hand.'' 'He was going crazy,' adds fellow director Brian De Palma. 'I mean, the story is he wanted to kill the head of the studio.' Scorsese himself claims that his plans were slightly less extreme, even if he did claim at the time that he had every intention of buying a weapon. 'I don't know. I was angry. I said I was going to threaten them, or maybe just shoot or something. I had no idea,' he says. Instead, the director's actual plan involved a different sort of crime. 'What I wanted to do – and not with a gun – I would go in, find out where the rough cut is and break the windows and take it back,' he explains. 'They're going to destroy the film anyway, so let me destroy it. I'll destroy it. But before destroying it, I'm going to steal it. 'Spielberg said: 'Marty stop that! Marty, you can't do it!' And the more they said no, the more I said I was going to do it.' The scenes come from an Apple TV+ documentary series, Mr Scorsese, which looks at the director's life and work drawing on access to his private archives. It features interviews with family, friends and colleagues including De Niro, Daniel Day-Lewis, Sharon Stone, Margot Robbie and Mick Jagger. It was not the first time that the director uttered violent threats during the production of Taxi Driver. He also infamously appeared in the movie as a passenger who planned to murder his wife after discovering her infidelity, performing a calm monologue strewn with racist language and threats of gun-related violence. Ultimately, a compromise to the editing crisis was struck, meaning that Taxi Driver was able to retain controversial blood-soaked scenes. In the words of Spielberg: 'It saved the movie because he didn't have to cut any of the violence. He just had to take the colour red down to a colour brown.'

Now 45, the actor, who played pre-teen Chris alongside Robin Williams in the 1993 classic, appeared in good spirits as he ran errands around town. Dressed casually in a white T-shirt, gray pants, and flip-flops, he carried multiple grocery bags as he went about his day. Sporting a newsy cap and glasses, he looked a far cry from his role as college roommate Jack in the cult sitcom Boy Meets World. This rare outing comes after the star—whose older brother had roles in Gimme a Break! and Blossom— expressed interest in seeing the late Robin Williams brought back via AI for a future project. 'It's kinda like this very contemporary, modern, almost sort of foreshadowing of what's going on commercial that he did, where he did this computerized voiceover, and it always stuck with me,' Lawrence explained. He's gotta be the voice in something.' So yeah, I would love to do that.' In an earlier conversation with the publication, Lawrence reflected on the valuable life lessons, especially compassion, that he gained from working with Williams on the set of Mrs. Doubtfire. 'He really quantified what it was to be a real artist for me in the sense that he was definitely... the most brilliant artist I've ever worked with.' 'But on top of that, he had the compassion, he had the humility, and he also had these things that he struggled with.' In 2023, Zelda Williams publicly opposed the use of artificial intelligence to replicate her late father's voice. 'I am not an impartial voice in SAG's fight against AI. I've witnessed for YEARS how many people want to train these models to create/re-create actors who cannot consent, like Dad,' she wrote on Instagram. Zelda continued: 'This isn't theoretical, it is very very real. I've already heard AI used to get his "voice" to say whatever people want and while I find it personally disturbing, the ramifications go far beyond my own feelings.'
