Houthi leader says group won't permit sea passage of goods related to Israel

Al Arabiya10-07-2025
Yemeni Houthi militia leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi said on Thursday that no company could be permitted to transport goods related to Israel through designated areas at sea.
He reiterated that a Houthi ban on navigation the group sees as associated with Israel through the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea would remain in place.
The Iran-aligned Houthis sank two ships in the Red Sea earlier this week after months of calm.

Saudi foreign ministry accuses Israel of committing crimes amounting to genocide

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia's ministry of foreign affairs has accused Israel of behaving 'in a manner that amounts to crimes of genocide against defenseless civilians in the Gaza Strip', in a damming statement on X on Thursday. Saudi Arabia condemned the Israeli occupation's persistence in crimes against Palestinians in the occupied land and the ongoing attempts to displace them and preventing them from establishing an independent state. 'Israel's commencement of expanding settlement construction around occupied Jerusalem, and expanding their operations and aggression in a manner that amounts to crimes of genocide against defenseless civilians in the Gaza Strip,' said the statement. The statement condemned what it called 'serious violations of international law' and said the continuation of the 'dangerous Israeli plan' and crimes of the Israeli occupation authorities had a major impact on the security and stability of the region, and threatened the legitimacy of the international system.
