New study into links of menstrual cycle and football knee injuries
A groundbreaking new study will look at whether the menstrual cycle is a contributing factor to serious knee injuries in women's football. The FIFA-funded study out of Kingston University in the UK will investigate whether there's any link between monthly hormonal fluctuations and the high rate of ACL injuries in women's footballers. Sports correspondent Dana Johannsen spoke to Lisa Owen.

Menopause has become an industry and a medicalised tik tok problem when it is a normal part of life, one medical expert has said. Checkpoint has been looking at the issue this week after an Auckland woman complained her GP is charging three hundred dollars for a menopause consultation to discuss hormone replacement therapy when a standard appointment at the clinic is only 70 dollars for an enrolled patient. The menopause appointment is 45 minutes versus 15 minutes for a regular consult. President of the New Zealand College of General Practioners Doctor Samantha Murton spoke to Lisa Owen.

Auckland woman charged $300 for GP 'menopause' consult
An Auckland woman is questioning a $300 GP charge for a so called 'menopause' consultation, to discuss hormone replacement therapy. A regular 15 minute Doctors visit at the central Auckland clinic is $70 for an enrolled patient. But it lists a $300 fee for a menopause consult, that's for a 45 minute long appointment. Checkpoint has found several medical centres around the country charging several hundred dollars for an initial menopause consultation and more than $100 for a follow-up. Dargaville residents asked to conserve water, reservoir at 10%
environment about 1 hour ago Dargaville residents are being asked to conserve water after maintenance teams have worked for hours to patch major breaks in the system. At one point the towns reservoir was down to 10 percent full. Water trucks from Whangarei, Maungaturoto and Ruawai have been pumping water back into the town supply, but have been struggling to keep pace.
