The vibe: Given how fashion moves in such speed, it only just dawned on me that I haven't seen a single Celine show or heard from the brand since 2022. A known global embargo that was set across all Condé Nast publications. Today, at Celine's headquarters on 16 Rue Vivienne, anticipation runs high even under a drizzle as newly appointed creative director Michael Rider unveils his debut spring 2026 collection for the house.
The excitement stems not just from the fact that Celine hasn't held a proper fashion show since 2023, but also from a shared sense of renewal. After all, I still remember my very first show in Paris, back in the noughties, being at Celine. Revisiting the house codes, tailored sportswear, trenches, and practical leather goods anchored by the iconic Triomphe logo and Blazon Chaîne motif, reveals the enduring pillars that have carried Celine through many reinventions: from Michael Kors' ultra-chic beach-to-bar aesthetic, to Phoebe Philo's minimal yet intellectually charged sensibility and Hedi Slimane's androgynous rockstars of the '70s.
The vision: Rider delivered a compelling spectrum today, spanning from '80s college-core—brimming with irreverence and a devil-may-care attitude to the quintessential French girl aesthetic: a turtleneck and slouchy cardigan nonchalantly draped over one shoulder, finished with scarves that offered either a pop of colour or a flourish of movement. Smartly, Rider didn't alienate Celine's loyal clientele. The biker jackets and rock-and-roll spirit remained, albeit softened—now adorned with rows of lockets and gold trinkets, as if nicked from the bridge of Pont des Arts. Philophiles, too, had reason to rejoice: subtle references throughout the collection evoked the intellectual precision and precocious sensibility that defined Philo's era, yet felt entirely attuned to the present. What to shop from this collection: Good styling is what sells a collection and today, it was immaculate. From the excessive neck trinkets (look 2) to the high waisted coupe carotte pants washed in dusty blue tucked effortlessly into a pair of boxing boots (look 12) to rings worn across all eight fingers (look 19) there was something for every kind of dresser. The star of the show, however, has to be the slouchy trench that floats with so much charm (look 33) while the white blazer with structured shoulders, a nipped-in waist and a silhouette so divine, that it instantly upgrades any wardrobe with ease (look 62) Fior - Dragone

The winery in Tenute del Mondo is part of the wine division of the Stoli Group. The actor stated that Oliynik refused to cooperate, arguing that no one could force him to do so because he is a resident of Switzerland. "These requests go directly to key allegations about Pitt's objections to the sale easily meet the standard for discoverability given Pitt's allegations that Jolie acted with malice in selling to Stoli, a counterparty she knew Pitt opposed," Pitt stated in his new court documents. The F1 actor filed a case against his former partner in February 2022, alleging that she had made a sale of the winery despite their prior agreement that neither of them would do so without the other person's approval. In response, Jolie filed a countersuit seven months later, claiming that her ex-husband had been "waging a vindictive war against" her ever since she filed for divorce in 2016. The Girl, Interrupted Oscar winner's legal team said in court documents that her ex-husband's objection to the winery sale is due to her refusal to sign a non-disclosure agreement. The agreement, according to her legal team, is "designed to force her silence about his abuse and cover-up". The abuse refers to the former couple's private jet flight in 2016, in which the actor allegedly abused his family both verbally and physically. Jolie and Pitt separated in 2016 after being together for 14 years. The couple share six children -- Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 16 -- in their 12 years together and two years of marriage.

Broken bangs are the new curtain bangs
Forget curtain bangs , there's a fresh new cut in town, and it flatters every face shape and hair texture. The 'broken' bangs style is ultra-choppy and short, defined by its lived-in finish and distinctive central peak. It's longer and less intimidating than micro-bangs , yet edgier and cooler than its softly sweeping curtain counterpart. Broken bangs feel right at a time when we're shunning clean girl living and embracing a messier aesthetic . 'It has its roots in the mid-'90s grunge era,' says hairstylist Luke Hersheson, who has noticed an uptick in re quests for the look in salons. 'Much more versatile and wearable than micro-bangs, which tend to freak people out—it's slightly shorter in the middle and gets a little longer towards the sides.' Darren Gerrish It's this graduated detail (also a hallmark of curtain bangs) that makes it so universally flattering. 'When fringes go too deep into your temples, they start to look severe and don't suit everyone,' adds Hersheson. 'These are chunky, choppy and short, but they're still flattering on most face shapes.' As for how to style it? If your bangs tend to spring upwards when you wake up, Hersheson recommends wetting them and then combing forward. 'Comb them down the forehead – especially if you have cowlicks – to help flatten it out, then let the hair dry mostly on its own,' he recommends. 'Try using the Hershesons Sock Diffuser, a fabric hair dryer attachment that blunts air flow but keeps the heat, which speeds up the drying process without running the risk of frizz or fluffiness.' Original Birkin bag sells at auction for record 8.6 million euros
[PARIS] The original bag custom-made for actress Jane Birkin, which became one of the era-defining designs of the 20th century, was sold in Paris on Thursday (Jul 10) for a record 8.6 million euros (S$13 million), auctioneer Sotheby's said. According to fashion lore, the first Birkin bag was born when the Franco-British actress and singer sat next to Hermes executive Jean-Louis Dumas on a flight in 1984 and told him she needed a stylish yet functional bag as a young mother. Dumas immediately sketched out the rectangular handbag, with a dedicated space for baby bottles. The company made that one for her, then started selling smaller versions to the public. The design became a hit and has helped fuel the growth of the fashion brand. Regular Birkin bags sell for more than US$10,000. The first one, which has Birkin's JB initials on the flap and, unlike its descendants, has a strap that cannot be removed, was bought by a private Japanese buyer over the phone, Sotheby's said. Clearly, it was worn for nine years by Jane Birkin on a daily basis and the form is still very beautiful,' Aurelie Vassy, head of the Handbags and Fashion Department at Sotheby's Europe and Middle East, said. Birkin auctioned the bag in 1994 to support Sidaction, a French charity that fights HIV/AIDS. In 2000, when it went on sale again, a private French collector bought it. When British-born Birkin died in 2023, the French capital's mayor, Anne Hidalgo, said the 'most Parisian of the English has left us'. Birkin had lived in her adopted France since the late 1960s and was remembered as much for her warmth and campaigning as for her acting and singing, most famously on the hit single 'Je t' non plus'.
