Michigan's sign-stealer, Conor Stalions, says he knew most signals in 7 games over 2 seasons
Stalions shared those details Saturday on social media, responding to TCU coach Sonny Dykes telling On3 that his team changed some signs in advance of its win over the Wolverines in the 2022 College Football semifinals.
'We got some favorable matchups because of that and, yeah, there was some big plays in the game," Dykes said in the On3 report.
Stalions bristled at the latest attempt to suggest Michigan won or lost games because of his sign-stealing role with the team.
'There were 7 games in my time at Michigan where I knew almost every signal the whole game: 2021 MSU, 2022 MSU, 2022 PSU, 2022 OSU, 2022 TCU, 2021 Georgia, and 2021 Wisconsin,' Stalions wrote in his post. "We lost 3 of those games because we didn't tackle well, and Georgia was historically good. We won the four other games because we dominated the line of scrimmage & tackled well. Blocking, ball security, tackling, run fits & coverage tools.
'That's football. This is not rocket science.'
Nearly a year ago, the NCAA alleged in a notice relating to Michigan's sign-stealing investigation that current coach Sherrone Moore violated rules as an assistant under former coach Jim Harbaugh, who served a three-game suspension in exchange for the Big Ten dropping its own investigation into the allegations after the two ended up in court.
Moore also was accused of deleting text messages with Stalions, before they were recovered and provided to the NCAA. Moore has said he has and will continue to cooperate with the NCAA's investigation.
Michigan is prepared to suspend Moore for two games during the coming season. The NCAA will decide if that self-imposed sanction is enough to address allegations that Moore failed to cooperate in an investigation that rocked college football during the 2023 championship season with Harbaugh on the sideline.
The school had a hearing with the NCAA's Committee on Infractions last month. The governing body takes three months on average for contested cases to make a final decision.
The Wolverines open the season on Aug. 30 at home against New Mexico State and then go to Oklahoma, where Moore was an offensive lineman, on Sept. 6.
The NCAA does not have rules against stealing signs, but it does prohibit schools from sending scouts to the games of future opponents and using electronic equipment to record another team's signals. Records from other Big Ten schools showed that Stalions bought tickets to games involving future opponents, sending people to digitally record teams when they signaled plays.
The NCAA previously put Michigan on three years of probation, fined the school and implemented recruiting limits after reaching a negotiated resolution in a recruiting case and banned Harbaugh from coaching college football for four years.

Josh Pate Names Prominent Big Ten Program On the Rise
Josh Pate Names Prominent Big Ten Program On the Rise originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The 2024 college football season ended several streaks for teams that had not made a bowl game in years. The Nebraska Cornhuskers ended their non-bowl game streak by making a bowl game for the first time since their 9-4 season in 2016. The question is whether the Cornhuskers can continue to make improvements in 2025. One advantage Nebraska has is history. History shows that in Year 3 under Matt Rhule, his teams have typically made significant improvements. At Temple, the Owls improved from a 6-6 record in Year 2 to 10-4 in Year 3. Similarly, at Baylor, the Bears progressed from 7-6 to 11-3 in their third year. Now, as we enter Year 3 at Nebraska, the question is whether the team can achieve a comparable jump in performance. On "Josh Pate's College Football Show," the college football analyst stated he believes the Cornhuskers will make significant strides this season. "I am ready to predict," Pate said. "I am ready to back with my own money that Nebraska will be better than 6-6 this year. It's Matt Rhule. It's Year 3. You know the science behind the rule of three. Dylan Raiola with better options, that's what I'm thinking about. Now, I don't love that (defensive coordinator) Tony White is gone. I just need them to hold the rope defensively." Pate mentioned that he doesn't believe Nebraska needs to achieve a record of 10-2 or 11-1. Instead, he thinks the focus should be on finding a way to win at least eight games in the upcoming season. The Cornhuskers haven't reached the eight-win mark since 2016.. Pate believes that Nebraska should win at least seven or eight games this season, citing the team's schedule as a key factor. According to Athlon Sports' Kyle Wood, Nebraska has the easiest schedule in the conference. After the Cornhuskers' season opener against Cincinnati in Kansas City, their next four games will all be played at home. While one of those home games features a matchup against Michigan, which is expected to be their toughest contest until late November, the overall schedule appears favorable for Nebraska. While finishing on the road against the Penn State Nittany Lions and at home against the Iowa Hawkeyes may prove challenging for the Cornhuskers, six of their nine Big Ten opponents had a losing record in league play last season. Nebraska also avoids playing the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Oregon Ducks. Additionally, the team will host the USC Trojans. The Cornhuskers open the season against Cincinnati at 8 p.m. ET on Aug. story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jul 16, 2025, where it first appeared.

ESPN names biggest X-factor for Oregon Ducks in 2025 season
The Oregon Ducks football team has expectations of becoming a playoff team and competing for a national championship in 2025, building off of the success that they found a year ago. A lot of the team and their talent are well-known quantities. We know how good Matayo Uiagalelei is. We know how good Kenyon Sadiq is and others on this stacked roster. But there's one question mark that needs to be answered, and unfortunately for Oregon, that question resides at the quarterback position. Redshirt sophomore Dante Moore is going to have the reins of Oregon football in his hands. He was one of the highest recruits in the Class of 2023 when Oregon recruited him before he chose UCLA, presumably for playing time. He got it, and it didn't go great for the true freshman. Moore had an up-and-down year, starting in five games while throwing 11 TDs and 9 INTs. But he wasn't anything near what the Bruins hoped he would be. After a coaching change, it was a foregone conclusion that Moore would look for greener pastures, but his decision to come to Oregon was unprecedented in this day and age, where playing time is Priority No. 1. Moore knew he would redshirt the 2024 season and learn under Dillon Gabriel. He came to Eugene anyway. Flash forward to 2025 and Moore has the chance to show everyone that becoming a Duck was a genius maneuver. This goes one of two ways. Moore will continue to be that good, but not great, quarterback he was at UCLA, or, which is what the Ducks hope and need, he will become the quarterback everyone thought he would be coming out of the prep ranks. According to ESPN, the answer to that question could be the key to the entire Duck season in 2025. "Dan Lanning's team is so deep and well-rounded that it's hard to say the Ducks' success this season will hinge entirely on Moore. And yet, since the Ducks' lineage of quarterbacks (Justin Herbert, Bo Nix, and Dillon Gabriel) has buoyed Oregon's offense in recent years, Moore has some big shoes to fill," said ESPN writer Paolo Uggetti. "The 20-year-old sophomore spent a year learning under Gabriel and offensive coordinator Will Stein after getting thrown into the fire as a true freshman starter during his lone season at UCLA. This time, the stage will be much bigger and the pressure much higher." There's no reason to believe Moore won't be the quarterback the Ducks need him to be. He studied under one of the longest-tenured signal callers in college football history in Gabriel. Lanning and Stein have also demonstrated their expertise in developing quarterbacks at Oregon. They're 2-for-2 with Nix and Gabriel. Moore could easily make it a trifecta.
