Op Sindoor: PM meets multi-party delegations, says proud of their work
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met with members of various multi-party delegations at his official residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, to commend them for their efforts in representing India's anti-terrorism stance globally.

The delegations, comprising Members of Parliament from across party lines, former MPs, and seasoned diplomats, were tasked with articulating India's position on terrorism and its dedication to world peace during their visits to foreign nations.
Their missions followed Operation Sindoor, India's targeted counter-terrorism strike on camps in Pakistan after a terrorist attack in the Pahalgam Valley of Jammu and Kashmir that claimed 26 civilian lives.
Who was involved?
Four delegations were led by MPs from the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), including two from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), one from Janata Dal (United), and one from Shiv Sena.
Three delegations were led by opposition MPs—one each from the Indian National Congress, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), and the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar faction).
EAM Jaishankar praises outreach
Earlier this month, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with the delegations and commended their role in amplifying India's strong message against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.
'It was a very good meeting, and we gave External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar our feedback. All members of the delegation provided their inputs and shared their views with him,' said Harsh V Shringla, former foreign secretary and delegation member.
India's outreach through these bipartisan efforts marks a notable shift in foreign policy messaging—one that seeks to project national consensus on the issue of terrorism beyond domestic political divides.

He also hit out at Europe for questioning India's ties with Russia, saying every country considers its own experience, history and interests. "India has the longest-standing grievance - our borders were violated just months after independence, when Pakistan sent in invaders to Kashmir. And the countries that were most supportive of that? Western countries," he said. 'If those same countries - who were evasive or reticent then - now say 'let's have a great conversation about international principles', I think I'm justified in asking them to reflect on their own past," added Jaishankar. Asked about India's ties with China, the minister recalled his meetings with several European companies in India that have chosen to set up there specifically to de-risk their supply chains. "Many companies are becoming increasingly careful about where they locate their data - they'd rather place it somewhere secure and trustworthy than simply go for efficiency. Would you really want that in the hands of actors you don't feel comfortable with," he said.

11 years of Modi govt: Infra revolution boosting 'ease of living', says PM
The Union government and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled state governments on Wednesday continued to highlight the achievements of the 11 years of the Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) dispensation, with the Prime Minister posting on social media details of the 'infrastructure revolution' during this period. "It's been 11 years of infrastructure revolution with outstanding infrastructure being added that has enhanced India's growth trajectory," Modi said on X. From railways to highways, ports to airports, India's rapidly expanding infrastructure network is boosting 'Ease of Living' and enhancing prosperity, he said. In another post, Modi said: 'India's push for next-gen infrastructure is powered by sustainability and long-term vision.' It is laying the foundations of a self-reliant India, he said. In a document prepared by the newly launched Press Information Bureau (PIB) Research, the government also pointed to the efficacy of the Pragati (pro-active governance and timely implementation) platform, which was put in place 10 years ago, in fast-tracking of infrastructure projects. It said the most recent meeting of Pragati, which the PM chairs, took place on May 29. This was its 47th meeting since its inception in March 2015. The government said since its launch, over 363 projects have been reviewed under the Pragati initiative, which enables the PM to directly engage with the secretaries of the government and chief secretaries of states via videoconferencing. The government also highlighted the external challenges that it has faced — whether in its response to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism with the Uri surgical strike in 2016, the Balakot air strike of 2019, and Operation Sindoor in 2025 — and how it has dealt with challenges of internal security, such as the threat of Naxalism. In Raipur, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said the PM's target of uprooting Naxalism by March next year is being fulfilled. The delimitation of seats and women's reservation will have to be based on the Census-2027 data, and a delimitation commission will have to be set up for the purpose. The Centre, on June 4, announced that the Census will be completed by March 1, 2027, and include enumeration of castes. However, there has been skepticism whether the data would be available in time for the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. The provisional data for the 2011 Census was released on March 31, 2011, 25 days after its population enumeration phase ended, while the final data was released two years later on April 30, 2013. However, the government is hopeful of completing the process of delimitation by the 2029 polls since the Census-2027 will be the first digital Census, where enumerators will enter data into apps that it can process in real-time, facilitating quicker publication of datasets.

DMK ally in talks to join NDA: Nagenthran
Tirunelveli: BJP state president Nainar Nagenthran said on Wednesday that a key alliance partner of DMK is in talks to join the BJP-led NDA . "Discussions are underway, but we cannot reveal the details now," he said at a news conference in Tirunelveli. His response came when asked about Union minister L Murugan 's recent statement hinting at a possible switch by a DMK ally. Nagenthran also said he would personally review the Keeladi excavation report and submit his recommendations on its credibility to the central govt. "I will study the report in detail and send my feedback," he said, on ongoing criticism by opposition parties that the BJP undermines Tamil heritage. Reiterating BJP's support for Tamil culture, Nagenthran pointed to several initiatives by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including translating Thirukkural into 63 languages and organising Tamil Sangam events in Kashi and Gujarat. "The BJP has always upheld Tamil identity and culture," he said. He said if the AIADMK-BJP alliance comes to power in Tamil Nadu , it will be led by Edappadi K Palaniswami. "It will be an alliance partners' rule, and EPS will be the leader," he said. "Everyone born in India is a Hindu in terms of cultural identity," he said in response to a question. Nagenthran said the BJP-led central govt allocated ₹10 lakh crore to Tamil Nadu over the past 11 years without any financial backlog. "This is the highest level of central support the state received," he added.
