JA Solar and Masdar Deepen Partnership with Landmark 1GW PV Projects in Azerbaijan
The Banka and Bilasuvar projects are the largest utility-scale solar developments in Azerbaijan. Once operational, they are expected to generate approximately 1.53 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually, avoiding carbon dioxide emissions of approximately 1.15 million tons each year. The initiative will significantly contribute to Azerbaijan's efforts to diversify its energy mix and advance its renewable energy goals.

Top officials at the Department of Justice are scheduled to meet Thursday with convicted child sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, reportedly in hopes of obtaining information about potential criminal activity by associates of her late confidante, Jeffrey Epstein. The meeting between Maxwell and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche is taking place at the U.S. Attorney's office in Tallahassee, Fla., near where Maxwell is incarcerated, ABC News reported Thursday morning, citing sources. Blanche declined to speak with reporters as he walked into the building, which is housed in Tallahassee's federal courthouse. Maxwell's lawyer, David Markus, told reporters he was "looking forward to a productive day," ABC reported. Maxwell was convicted on child sex trafficking charges in 2021 in relation to her activities as a "madam" for Epstein, the billionaire financier and convicted child sex criminal. Maxwell recruited girls, including minors, for Epstein to sexually abuse. Maxwell has appealed her conviction to the Supreme Court, arguing she is immune from prosecution through a 2007 deal that required Epstein to plead guilty to procuring a child for prostitution and register as a sex unclear whether Maxwell may attempt to use the meeting to secure a lighter sentence or even a pardon from the government in exchange for cooperation. The meeting with Maxwell comes one day after the House Oversight Committee issued a subpoena for her deposition and voted to subpoena the DOJ, ABC reported. In response to the subpoena, Markus said it "remains a big if" whether she would testify before Congress and not invoke her 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination — but if she did, she would "testify truthfully, as she always has said she would." The Trump administration has faced significant blowback over its handling of the Epstein scandal. Months after claiming Epstein's long-rumored "client list" was sitting on her desk, Attorney General Pam Bondi's DOJ effectively closed the case, claiming no such client list existed and there was not enough evidence to prosecute any potential Epstein co-conspirators. Epstein was arrested in July 2019 and charged with sex trafficking but died a month later in a Manhattan jail cell, leaving unanswered questions about his associates and alleged crimes. His death was ruled a suicide but the ruling has generated suspicion. President Donald Trump, who was friends with Epstein for years before a falling out, has urged his followers to forget about the disgraced financiar, to little avail, as questions swirl over whether the commander-in-chief is named in the government's "Epstein files." Last week, the Wall Street Journal reported that one such file in the government's possession is an alleged birthday card from Trump to Epstein, drawn inside the outline of a naked woman, where the president allegedly wrote to the disgraced financier that they have "certain things in common." PEOPLE has been unable to verify this information. Trump called the letter fake and sued the Journal for $20 billion. Accelerant valued at $6.4 billion as shares rise in NYSE debut
(Reuters) - Accelerant's (ARX) shares jumped 35.7% in their New York Stock Exchange debut on Thursday, giving the specialty insurance marketplace - backed by billionaire sports financier Todd Boehly - a fully diluted valuation of $6.37 billion. The company's stock opened at $28.50 apiece, above the $21 offer price. Accelerant and some of its backers sold roughly 34.5 million shares in an upsized IPO to raise $724 million. The strong debut adds to growing momentum for insurance IPOs that have emerged as a key theme in the new listings market since Liberation Day with a string of companies successfully pulling off first-time share sales. US Attorney General Pam Bondi has medical issue amid Epstein files scrutiny
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, citing a medical issue, abruptly canceled her appearance at an anti-trafficking event amid public outcry over her handling of the Epstein files and renewed scrutiny over President Donald Trump's relationship with the disgraced financier. Bondi was expected to speak at CPAC's Summit Against Human Trafficking on Wednesday before acting Assistant Attorney General Matthew R. Galeotti took to the stage to reveal she could no longer attend. 'I do have a note from the attorney general, from Attorney General Pam Bondi, that I wanted to share,' he told attendees before reading her statement. 'I'm sorry to miss all of my CPAC friends today,' Bondi's statement said. 'Unfortunately, I am recovering from a recently torn cornea, which is preventing me from being with you. I truly wish I was able to join you and support all of the work being done on this critical issue.' The announcement came some 90 minutes before The Wall Street Journal published a report, alleging Bondi informed Trump during a sit-down in back May that his name repeatedly appeared in the Epstein files. That means their meeting occurred just weeks before the Justice Department released a memo declaring that, after a lengthy review of all evidence available, there is 'no incriminating client list' or proof Epstein blackmailed prominent people as part of his alleged actions. It further noted that no more files related to the case — other than a video meant to prove that Epstein died by suicide — would be made public. The subsequent backlash was fierce, with critics calling for Bondi's head. Trump has, meanwhile, repeatedly come to his attorney general's defense while trying to quell his angry base. Many of them have pointed out the president's past vows to make public the Epstein files, and his recent hesitation to do so, has sparked questions about his involvement with the financier. Further fueling the fire, The Wall Street Journal also recently published a report on a collection of letters gifted to Epstein, one of them allegedly penned by Trump. The note, contained in a bound collection given to Epstein for his 50th birthday in 2003, apparently included a drawing of a naked woman with his signature written across her pelvis in a way that appeared to mimic pubic hair. 'A pal is a wonderful thing,' Trump wrote to Epstein, per the WSJ. 'Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.' Trump denied writing the birthday note and has since sued the Journal over its report. White House communications director Steven Cheung on Wednesday also denied the Journal's latest bombshell in a statement to Newsweek. 'The fact is that the President kicked him out of his (Mar-a-Lago) club for being a creep,' Cheung said in the statement. 'This is nothing more than a continuation of the fake news stories concocted by the Democrats and the liberal media, just like the Obama Russiagate scandal, which President Trump was right about.' _____
