Tata Power powers Shaurya Bharat EV Rally 2025 through its EV charging solutions
Tata Power played a pivotal role in the successful execution of the Shaurya Bharat EV Rally 2025 , by providing end-to-end EV charging support through its EZ Charge network. The rally, a collaborative effort with the Indian Air Force, Tata Motors, and PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), celebrated India's armed forces while promoting the country's transition to sustainable mobility.
Flagged off from Delhi, the rally covered over 600 km through Murthal, Ambala, and Adampur (Jalandhar), before returning to the capital. Featuring a convoy of over 30 Tata Harrier EVs, the drive was supported entirely by Tata Power's public charging stations along the route — ensuring zero range anxiety and uninterrupted travel.
More than just a tribute to the valor of India's defense personnel, the rally served as a real-world test of India's EV infrastructure. Tata Power's strategically located, high-performance charging points proved to be the backbone of this demanding, multi-city initiative.
'This was more than a commemorative event — it was a demonstration of what's possible when purpose meets robust infrastructure,' a Tata Power spokesperson said.
Tata Power has rapidly scaled its EV charging ecosystem, with over 5,400 public and captive charging points, more than 1.35 lakh home chargers, and over 1,200 bus charging stations across 600+ cities. Its infrastructure supports all types of EVs, catering to individuals, fleets, and large-scale institutional drives.
To date, Tata Power's charging network has enabled more than 23.6 crore electric kilometers globally, helping avoid over 1 lakh tonnes of CO₂ emissions from buses alone. The company aims to expand to 7.5 lakh home chargers and 10,000 public charging points by 2030.
The Shaurya Bharat EV Rally 2025 thus stands as a high-impact convergence of India's sustainability goals and national pride — with Tata Power leading from the front to drive the EV revolution.

Registrations of new cars down by 5% in July as drivers delay EV purchases Registrations of new cars stalled in July as many drivers delayed purchases of electric vehicles (EVs) until Government grants are rolled out. SMMT chief executive Mike Hawes said: 'July's dip shows yet again the new car market's sensitivity to external factors, and the pressing need for consumer certainty. 'Confirming which models qualify for the new EV grant, alongside compelling manufacturer discounts on a huge choice of exciting new vehicles, should send a strong signal to buyers that now is the time to switch. 'That would mean increased demand for the rest of this year and into next, which is good news for the industry, car buyers and our environmental ambitions.' The SMMT slightly upgraded its forecast for full-year new car registrations, to 1.9 million. Registrations in 2024 reached 1.95 million. Bevs are forecast to hold a full-year market share of 23.8%. Ian Plummer, commercial director at online vehicle marketplace Auto Trader, said the grant has provided a 'much-needed boost' for consumer interest in new electric cars, with EV consideration up 10 percentage points on Auto Trader. But the unveiling of the initiative on July 14 explains why it was a 'slow' month for sales as buyers 'wait to see just which models will get what level of grant'. He added that discounts – either through the grant or by brands cutting prices themselves – will 'trickle through to EV sales in the coming months'.
