Ohio State lands Indiana point guard from transfer portal.
The Ohio State Men's Basketball team has landed its first player from the transfer portal this year. Gabe Cupps announced on social media that he was coming home to play for the Buckeyes.
Hailing from Centerville, Ohio, Cupps was the Ohio Mr. Basketball in his junior season with the Elks, where he helped lead Centerville to a State Championship. Centerville would be denied back-to-back titles in Cupps' senior year, falling to Pickerington Central and 2023 Ohio Mr. Basketball Devin Royal in the championship game.
Cupps committed to Indiana and headed to Bloomington after high school. During his freshman season with the Hoosiers, Cupps appeared in 33 games, starting 22 of those where he averaged just under 3 points per game, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists. Expectations were high for Cupps entering his sophomore season at IU, but his season would be cut short after a lower-body injury shut him down for the season after just four games.
Cupps now heads back to the Buckeye State where he'll hope to contribute in Scarlet and Gray. Cupps will take one of the spots vacated by Austin Parks and Evan Mahaffey who entered the transfer portal shortly after the season ended.

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WROC) – The Bloomfield softball team is on its way to the state championship for the second year in a row, defeating Section IV's Deposit-Hancock 4-0 in the Class C semifinal. Bloomfield struck early, as Ashlyn Wright punched two RBIs in the first inning with a hit to left field. In the second, Sydney Falsone popped up to left and reached on an error, bringing another run across the plate to make it 3-0. Wright locked it down on the mound, earning eight strikeouts as Bloomfield came away with the four-run victory. Ohio State receives commitment from 2028 running back from Florida While Ohio State is still putting the finishing touches on the 2026 class and has the framework in place for the 2027 class, the Buckeyes just got their first commitment for the 2028 cycle with the addition of Florida running back Elijah Newman-Hill. Out of Tampa, Florida, it's still too early for Hill to be ranked by the major recruiting services but you can bet if Ohio State offered and accepted a commitment from a kid that doesn't graduate until 2028, the coaching staff must be impressed with what it sees. And for Hill, the feeling must be mutual if he was ready to get on board shortly after attending one of the camps at Ohio State. Though Hill plays on both sides of the ball in high school, there's no doubt he's being looked at as a running back for OSU. This past season, he carried the ball 80 times for 829 yards for Blake High School.
