Roscommon win thrilling Connacht minor final over Mayo
In a thrilling contest that was lit up by star performances from two outstanding corner forwards, this evening's Connacht minor final was ultimately settled by a goal from Dara Curran after 57 minutes.

's run of three consecutive titles at this level and gave the Rossies their first title since their win over Sligo on Stephen's Day of 2020.
Tony Carey of Mayo and Roscommon's John Price, the latter named Man of the Match afterwards, were in sensational form, kicking 1-4 and 1-3 respectively. Carey opened the scoring with a classy finish in the first minute while Price finally got Roscommon going 20 minutes later with his green flag, by which time his side had just 0-2 on the board.
In a game where both sides had strong purple patches, Roscommon caught fire in the lead up to half-time to take a 1-7 to 1-4 interval lead. Price was the star of the show up front, with Diarmuid O'Higgins, Tadhg Rogers and Alex Oates helping to establish the away side's dominance in their own half of the field.

The third quarter saw Mayo take over, and they did this despite suffering the hammer blow of losing both starting midfielders to injury in the minutes either side of the half-time break. Conor Hession dropped out from the full forward line to carry the load in the middle and with Carey running riot inside, they outscored Roscommon by 0-8 to 0-1 up to the 45-minute mark.
Another John Price point and a neat finish from an incredibly tight angle from substitute Seamie Carthy got Roscommon back in the game, and they drew level to set up a grandstand finish in the 56th minute through Dean Casey's second long-range free.
The key score was Curran's goal a minute later, set up by Sam Hannon's instinctive intercept of a pass across the last line of Mayo defence, and while the home side fired back with points from Dara Flanagan and Rhys Neary, they could not engineer an equaliser and it fell to Casey to round off the scoring.

Blarney turn on second-half style to roar into Senior A contention
Cork SAHC: Blarney 3-24 Watergrasshill 0-12 Blarney entered this Cork SAHC encounter at risk of elimination. They left it with a significant boost to their score difference after a dominant second-half showing against the wind at Grenagh. Approaching half-time, they were anything but safe. They led Watergrasshill by two, having played with a strong diagonal breeze, but finished with a 1-2 burst as Cian Barrett punished a dropped puck-out. The conditions brought no benefit to the Hill after the break. Blarney broke down their long puck-outs and held them scoreless from play for the entire half. Mark Coleman was everywhere, accumulating 0-9 (three from play), while Cathal McCarthy poached two goals for a 2-3 total. The second half finished 2-11 to 0-3 in their favour. A win against Courcey Rovers would guarantee Blarney's progress. Having seen their 10-game winning streak snapped, the Hill require an upset against Bride Rovers to escape this group of death. Adam Murphy put in a major shift in the first half for the All-Ireland intermediate champions. He got off 11 shots into the tricky wind, converting eight. That included five excellent points from play. However, he lacked support. Seán Desmond's point was their only other from play. Amid a clap of thunder and a flash of lightning in the distance, Blarney slowly established an upper hand in the opening quarter to build a five-point gap. Coleman had an early pair from play, while wing-backs Alan McEvoy and Conor Power, wearing 2 and 3 on their backs, came forward to score. Aiden Foley bravely saved a Cian Barrett goal chance and absorbed a loose pull to prevent a rebound. The Hill sideline were unhappy with a couple more frees as Shane Barrett tapped two momentum-builders over from close range. Watergrasshill's best period of play followed. Both teams were missing big talents in Dáire O'Leary and Pádraig Power, but in Cian Barrett and Conor Power, Blarney had a couple more players coming right after their first-round loss. On the other side, Kevin O'Neill manfully kept tabs on Shane Barrett, but was visibly hampered from midway through the first half, while Desmond took a heavy blow later on. A Murphy free from the throw-in opened the second-half scoring, but his side wouldn't raise another flag until the 50th minute. They withdrew the full-forward line to target the long puck-outs which worked to such good effect against Courceys. But Stephen Mullane and Patrick Crowley kept bringing the ball to ground and gobbling up the supply. Blarney reeled off 1-5 without reply, including a crisply-struck Coleman brace from distance. Substitute Jerry Murphy made a quick impact, laying on McCarthy's first goal, finished with a deft sidestep, and tapping over his first of two points. Eve McMahon finishes 14th at ILCA European Championships in Sweden
Ireland's Eve McMahon has finished 14th after the final day of racing at the ILCA European Championships in Marstrand, Sweden. The 21-year-old had ground to make up after Friday's Gold fleet races, sitting 20th overall after a black-flag disqualification in the opening race. The Howth sailor got off to a flying start on Saturday, placing first in the opening race, and was able to discount the 48-point penalty on the completion of the day's second race. However, she could only manage 32nd in that penultimate running, and came home in 26th in the final race to finish 14th overall but third in the under-23 standings. READ MORE In the ICLA 7 class, Ewan McMahon had a similarly impressive start to the day, finishing third in the opening race before taking 10th and 19th thereafter to finish 12th overall. Finn Lynch placed 19th overall, finishing eighth, 28th and 31st across the day's three races.

Caitríona Finn stars as Munster overcome Leinster in Interpros
Women's Interprovincial Championships: Leinster 22 Munster 33 Munster put themselves in pole position for a shot at regaining the Vodafone Women's Interprovincial Championship title following a business-like 33-22 win over Leinster at Energia Park. Playing with a maturity beyond her years, 19-year-old outhalf Caitríona Finn turned in her second player-of-the-match performance in the space of a week as Munster handed the defending champions a rare home defeat. Chisom Ugwueru's try just before half-time, adding to a quick-fire Chloe Pearse brace either side of the 20-minute mark, had Munster leading 19-10 as they proved clinical with ball in hand.
