Time Is A Butcher's Knife
Episode 1 of Forget You Not begins with us at a bustling market, where a little girl loses her father in the crowd. This is Le-le and her father, Kuang-chi, has a habit of putting others ahead of his own daughter.
Le-le has always had a tumultuous relationship with her dad, whose whimsy and playful behaviour does not go over well with his daughter – especially on her wedding day when he's late and ends up crashing his bike en-route.
Her husband, Chang-kai, does his best to support her while she stalls for time. There's also Lin Chai-yun and Huang su-fei, Le-le's two best friends whom we follow across the season. Furthermore, it's worth noting that Le-le has unresolved trauma with her mother too who left when she was 8. Unfortunately, as she trauma-dumps at the wedding through the medium of stand-up, it doesn't go over well with Kai's parents.
Yep, Le-le is a stand-up comedian by trade and her awkward impromptu speech is interrupted by word of her dad, Kuang-chi, being admitted to hospital after falling off his bike. This is apparently a pretty regular occurrence and the mood soon changes though when Le-le finds out that her dad has started to exhibit the first signs of dementia.
Le-le shrugs it off as her dad just messing about like always, but she hasn't seen him for 2-3 months so it's hard for her to say for certain. The thing is, she has a bad opinion of her dad, but according to him, he did a lot with her growing up.
It's here we cut forward in time, but the show doesn't explicitly tell us this until later in the same scene. Over at Kuang-chi's, she finds the place a complete mess and her father has definitely been forgetting dates and people too. Included within those dates are Chang Kai, whom Le-le is apparently separated from now.
Le-le works at the local FamilyMart during the day between gigs, but her comedy work is struggling too. She does a good job segwaying the set into the topic of her getting older, which appears to be the theme of this series ,and it also ends this episode too.
The Episode Review
Forget You Not shares some similarities with Navillera and other shows of its kind, leaning into the dementia angle and trying to bridge a severed relationship and heal past trauma. This show very much leans into the sentimentality and this father/daughter relationship that looks set to encapsulate this drama.
Le-le's stand up comedy works well as a narrative device to bridge the different scenes together, although it's not always clear exactly what timeline we're in, given there are inconsistent scenes stitched together, making it a little difficult to follow the flow of everything. Whether by design to emphasize the confusion of dementia or not though is up for debate.
Regardless, everything here is set up nicely for what should be a dramatic and emotionally charged series.

Knock, Knock, Please Open Your Heart Episode 3 of Our Unwritten Seoul begins with Ho-su recognizing Mi-ji, though she successfully convinces him that he's mistaken. Through a series of flashbacks, we learn that Mi-ji and Ho-su had been close in high school until Mi-ji suspected Ho-su of dating Mi-rae. On the day of her important race, she spotted the two hugging from afar, lost her focus, and tripped, breaking her ankle. With her athletic career derailed, Mi-ji felt abandoned by everyone. In a desperate bid to return to form, she removed her cast prematurely and resumed training, ultimately damaging her chances of ever returning to the sport. Meanwhile, Ho-su jeopardizes a lawsuit by helping the victim involved in his client's case. His senior, Lee Chung-ku, a lawyer Ho-su has admired ever since seeing him give a lecture at university, immediately realizes Ho-su's involvement and excludes him from meetings and ongoing cases. Mi-ji, on the other hand, meets with the elderly restaurant owner, only to learn that the woman intends to officially decline the company's offer. Determined, Mi-ji returns multiple times, cleaning the restaurant in hopes of changing the woman's mind, but her efforts are fruitless. She even follows the owner to a poetry class, only to be caught. Seeking advice, Mi-ji turns to Ho-su. They discover that the restaurant owner is a well-known poet who has long supported students from single-parent families, Ho-su included. He had benefited from her sponsorship during his own academic journey. Elsewhere, Mi-rae continues working diligently at the strawberry farm. Her intelligence and intuition shine through in the way she selects saplings and nurtures the yield. After her shift, Se-jin offers her a ride home and is surprised by her excellent driving skills, especially since she doesn't even know how to ride a bicycle. Back at the law firm, Ho-su is excluded from a project he had been working hard on. Despite Chung-ku's orders, he asks his teammates to let him participate. Comically, this leads to him joining them on a triple date, where he runs into Park Ji-yun, a former high school classmate. They call Mi-ji to join them, since Mi-rae and Ji-yun had grown close after Mi-ji's athletic career ended. Later, Ji-yun gives Mi-ji a ride to the old restaurant. Mi-ji pretends the elderly woman is her grandaunt, but her real motive is to return a bathroom key she accidentally took after being scolded by the woman during one of her uninvited visits. Back at the firm, Lee Chung-ku introduces Ho-su to a humanitarian lawyer, suggesting he change teams. An argument breaks out, Chung-ku questions whether Ho-su is willing to abandon his ideals just to stay in his current position. Meanwhile, Mi-ji is pressured by her director to secure the old woman's participation in a redevelopment meeting. Coincidentally, Ji-yun also wants to cast the restaurant in her new project. Mi-ji races to the scene, only for the old woman to meet them both and discover Mi-ji's lie. Despite this, she plays along with the pretense. After Ji-yun leaves, the old woman agrees to meet with Mi-ji's company officials, if only to refuse the offer in person. Mi-ji feels grateful, knowing that technically she's fulfilled her assignment. While Mi-ji steps out to retrieve the bathroom key, Ho-su visits the elderly woman to thank her for sponsoring his education. Moved, he's the first person to ever thank her, she cooks him a meal. Elsewhere, Se-jin apologizes to Mi-rae after discovering she cleaned and organized the warehouse. He explains that the old chair she moved had sentimental value, it had belonged to his grandfather, whose farm he now tends. In the final scene, Ho-su reveals to Mi-ji (whom he still believes is Mi-rae) that he has quit his job and is ready to truly help her going forward. The Episode Review Episode 3 continues to explore the swapped lives of Mi-ji and Mi-rae. However, most of the plot twists involving Mi-ji and Ho-su serve as red herrings, and the narrative feels stretched thin. Mi-ji's repeated attempts to win over the restaurant owner start to feel repetitive, and Ho-su's internal conflict with Chung-ku lacks depth, many scenes and character decisions seem poorly justified or illogical, especially on Ho-su's part. That said, Mi-rae's quieter story at the strawberry farm stands out. Though she has less screen time, her storyline feels more grounded and emotionally rewarding. Removed from the city's chaos, Mi-rae slowly makes her mark through patience and capability, offering a compelling contrast to the tension surrounding Mi-ji and Ho-su. Overall, this is a decent episode but Mi-ji and Ho-su's story could use more urgency and narrative development. The Haunted Palace – K-drama Episode 13 Recap & Review
Episode 13 Episode 13 of The Haunted Palace begins with a 100-year-old flashback. The enemies are getting close and King Yeon-jong makes a run for it. With nowhere to hide, Escort Officer Cheon Geum-hwi suggests his hometown, Yongdam Village. Unfortunately, on the way over, the enemies find out their location. King Yeon-jong decides to send a decoy to Yongdam so the enemies don't find his new safehouse. Cheon asks for time to evacuate the villagers but the King refuses as it would give away the ruse. With Choi Gil-song's signal, an officer ties Cheon to a tree and they all leave. The enemies slaughter everyone in Yongdam while searching for the King. At present, King Lee Sung is ashamed by his ancestor's cowardice and selfishness. Yeo-ri feels Cheon's guilt as he blames himself for the massacre. But he is not alone. As the 8-foot ghost, he has absorbed the grudge of all the murdered villagers. Gangcheori reveals that the villagers who survived turned bitter and vile. It is why he believes all mortals are loathsome beings. Meanwhile, the 8-foot ghost attacks the Crown Prince. However, the ghostbane stone keeps him away and Ga-seop comforts the prince. Back in the village, Yeo-ri spots Yoon Gap's soul. Gangcheori realises the ghost is scheming something but Yeo-ri has other problems. She wonders what will happen to Gangcheori after Yoon Gap takes back his body. Gangcheori is playful with her and Yoon Gap watches them from afar. In-seon is curious about them too and Yeo-ri flexes their relationship. Gangcheori teases her but he is surprised by the caragana plant suddenly blooming. A flashback shows Ga-seop explaining that caragana flowers have water energy which can help Gangcheori defeat the ghost. It seems to be a necessity as the Imugi's powers are getting weaker and weaker. Elsewhere, the King learns of Kim Bong-in's death and is upset. Paired with the shame of his ancestor's doing, he mopes. However, he does attend the one-legged ghost's ritual. Choi Won-u hesitates but ends up profusely apologising to the ghost which helps him cross over to the afterlife. As for the punishment, the King fines Choi and orders 50 lashings. While the retinue returns to the capital, Pung-san targets Minister Ahn, Kwak's peer and the one who had introduced the talismans. The blind shaman wins him over by promising to make him Chief State Councillor. Yoon Gap continues to watch as Mrs. Yoon dotes over Gangcheori. He is also upset when it is Gangcheori who cheers up a sulking King Lee Sung with some tough love. Gap is hurt that Gangcheori has taken everything important to him. We finally learn that Pung-san hopes Gap's bitterness will fester into an evil grudge. Onto the showdown prep, the King procures an identification tablet for Cheon Geum-hwi. Inspired by the one-legged ghost's resolution, he hopes to share his regret and apologise to the 8-foot ghost which should allow it to cross over to the afterlife. Yeo-ri agrees to hold a ritual 10 days later, on Cheon's 100th death anniversary. She does try to exclude Gangcheori out of concern but he refuses. Meanwhile, the Queen Mother tries to find closure. She is heartbroken when Yeo-ri reveals that Prince Yeong-in has been devoured by the 8-foot ghost. However, Yeo-ri lies that praying with his precious belongings shall set him free. The kid ghost calls her out but she points out the tenacity of a mother's prayer. The kid misses his mother and Yeo-ri helps him cross over as well. Pung-san's next phase is put into motion as Lord Ahn invites Gangcheori for a meal. The Imugi realises it is a trap but it is too late as he faints. He is taken home and he seems to be burning up. At the end of The Haunted Palace Episode 13, Yoon Gap wakes up in his own body. Mrs. Yoon is delighted to see that he is back to his old self. But Yeo-ri is worried by Gangcheori's disappearance. The Episode Review As the penultimate week, this K-drama is off to an exciting start. The Haunted Palace Episode 13 unravels all the remaining mysteries such as what happened in Yongdam Village and why the ghost is targeting one particular royal bloodline. Yoon Gap finally returns but is leaning towards the misguided villain role rather than the hero we all thought he would be. Gangcheori and Yeo-ri's romance is still pretty sweet even though the focus is largely on wrapping up the ghost conflict. And while it is quite sad how Yoon Gap feels replaced, the moments between Gangcheori and the King, Yeo-ri and Mrs. Yoon were quite heartwarming. It highlights just how much Gangcheori has changed from the beginning of the show. And finally, a shoutout to Sung-jae for portraying two distinct characters so well that we could identify Yoon Gap the moment he woke up in his body. RUMER Willis has praised her dad Bruce in a rare public comment amid his Dementia battle. Following in her much loved father's footsteps, Rumer is also becoming an action hero. 5 5 5 Bruce Willis had his first three children in the late 80s and 90s, with actress and ex-wife, Demi Moore. The couple split in the late 90s and Bruce went on to have two more children with model Emma Heming who he married in March 2009. The five girls, along with Demi and Emma, released a joint statement in March 2022 sharing that Bruce had been diagnosed with aphasia and would retire from acting. Aphasia is a medical condition resulting in the inability to understand words and communicate clearly, aphasia typically occurs after a stroke or head injury. Then, 10 months later, another statement was shared which revealed that he received a more specific diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia (FTD). FTD is "an umbrella term for a group of brain diseases that mainly affect the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain", according to the Mayo Clinic. The site states: "These areas of the brain are associated with personality, behavior, and language." Born August 16, 1988, in Kentucky, Rumer is the first daughter of Demi and Bruce. She made her film debut in Now And Then (1995), acting alongside her mother, and has also appeared in three films with her father - The Whole Nine Years (2000), Hostage (2005), and Air Strike (2018). In 2015 she made her Broadway debut in the musical Chicago and also won season 20 of Dancing with the Stars.
