I tried Bregman's Beer. Here's what it's like.

Bregman was in Faneuil Hall for the launch of Bregman's Beer, the latest Sam Adams release brewed in collaboration with the Red Sox third baseman.
'I wanted to partner up with Sam Adams and give something back to the fans here in Boston,' says Bregman, who arrived here this offseason after spending most of his career in Houston. 'They've embraced me as the new guy, and we wanted to create a beer that they can drink while watching Red Sox games.'
Bregman is affable and good with the media, and is by all accounts one of the leaders in the Red Sox clubhouse. A likeness of his face adorns cans of Bregman's Beer ('they did a pretty good job'), which is another in a series of Samuel Adams athlete collaborations. Last fall, Celtics guard Derrick White was also given his own Boston Beer Co. brew.

'I'm not the brains behind the operation,' says Bregman, when asked how much input he gave. 'The masters here at Sam Adams crafted an incredible beer. It's a bold pale ale with a citrus flavor to it. It's crisp, it's light, and it's something I'd enjoy watching some sporting events with.
'Had a lot of fun creating it.'
Bregman, who can opt out of his Red Sox deal after this season, faced several questions about his future on Thursday, despite telling reporters he was going to leave contract discussions until the offseason. And so it was with an undercurrent of uncertainty that Bregman heaped praise on his new home of Boston.

'We've loved it, loved every second of being here,' said Bregman. 'Fenway's been electric this year, we've been playing some winning baseball. Being able to go out in the community, go out to eat, and enjoy everything about Boston has been incredible.
'We're right where we wanna be. We gotta continue to fight, keep pushing, and hopefully get into that postseason, and who knows maybe chase the division too.'
As for the beer itself, Bregman's Beer is a 5.8 percent ABV pale ale, which is a little on the higher side for those types of brews. Bregman was right in that it's a bold beer, with some notable spiciness from the hops leading into a crisp finish. The beer doesn't drink heavy, despite its ABV, and the aromatics of grapefruit and orange rind are pleasant.
Bregman's Beer is available at the Sam Adams downtown Boston taproom and Jamaica Plain brewery in 4-packs and on draft while supplies last.

The Boston Red Sox, who kicked off a critical four-game series with their archrival New York Yankees with postseason implications Thursday, are discussing moving a two-time All-Star starter to their bullpen. Although Baseball Reference pegged Boston's odds of making the postseason at 88 percent Thursday morning, that could easily change by Monday. And manager Alex Cora might be wise to reconsider the best role for Buehler, who's 7-7 with a 5.40 ERA in his first season since signing a one-year, $21.05 million contract with the Red Sox last winter — at least temporarily. Father Of Boston Celtics Star Jaylen Brown Arrested For Attempted Murder

On Thursday morning, TMZ Sports dropped a bombshell report involving Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown. His father, former boxer Marselles Brown, was arrested for attempted murder. Brown, the No. 3 pick from the 2016 NBA Draft, has lived up to the hype for the Celtics. He's an NBA Finals MVP and four-time All-Star. Boston failed to defend its championship this past season, but it wasn't because of Brown. The Georgia native averaged 22.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. Unfortunately for Brown, he'll now have to deal with drama off the court. According to TMZ, his father allegedly stabbed a youth football coach on Wednesday. This allegedly happened because of a dispute over a parking spot at All American Park. Las Vegas Metro Police said the suspect, Marselles Brown, fled the scene before being tracked down and taken into custody. Brown's father is set to appear in court later this Thursday. TMZ is reporting that the coach who was stabbed during this alleged incident was rushed to a nearby hospital and needed surgery. His condition hasn't been revealed at this time. If we had to guess, more details regarding this situation will be released in the coming days. Brown's father was a champion boxer. Marselles Brown used his 86-inch reach to his advantage during his boxing career, owning a 33-18-1 record with 25 knockouts. Although he turned pro in 1989, some of the best moments of his career came in the 2010s. In 2016, Marselles won the World Boxing Union World Championship. He said he came out of retirement to inspire his children. 'My main motivation for coming out of retirement was to show my kids that I never gave up on my dreams,' Marselles said in an interview with "I didn't want them to give up on theirs." Will this impact Brown's 2025 season with the Celtics? There was some buzz about the Celtics moving Brown this offseason. At the end of the day, the front office wisely held onto him. He's too valuable to part ways with, especially since he's just 28 years old. Although this is a very concerning situation for Brown and the Celtics, it shouldn't impact his status on the roster. Besides, he has proven time and time again that he's a true professional. As of now, Brown hasn't commented on his father's situation. He's currently getting ready for his 10th season with the Celtics. This story was originally reported by The Spun on Aug 21, 2025, where it first appeared in the NBA section. "The Password" Jhostynxon Garcia called up to Majors by Boston Red Sox

Red Sox prospect Jhostynxon Garcia – who is fittingly nicknamed "The Password" – has been called up to the big leagues. Boston called up the outfielder from Triple-A Worcester on Thursday ahead of a crucial four-game series against the New York Yankees. Garcia is not in Thursday night's lineup in the Bronx, but will wear No. 51 for the Red Sox. He's the No. 3 prospect in Boston's farm system, and has taken the roster spot of outfielder Wilyer Abreu, who was placed on the 10-Day Injured List with a right calf strain. The Red Sox posted a video of Garcia getting the good news from Worcester manager Chad Tracy on Thursday: Red Sox fans have been enamored with the 22-year-old Garcia all season thanks to his incredible nickname. He's known as "The Password" because of the spelling of his first name, which is pronounced Yos-TIN-son if you want to say it rather than try to spell it out. The native of Venezuela initially joined the Boston franchise as an international free agent in 2019. He quickly climbed the Red Sox system over the last two years, starting the 2024 season Single-A before finishing the year at Double-A. Garcia began this season with Portland but was called up to Triple-A Worcester in late March. In his 66 games with the WooSox, Garcia slashed .303/.367/.564 with 17 home runs, 12 doubles, and three triples to go with 56 RBI and 52 runs scored. He mainly played in the outfield in the minors, with 73 games in center field, 15 in right field, and three in left field between Portland and Worcester this season. Garcia recently started to do some work at first base, and played his first game at the new position for Worcester this past Sunday. Boston also moved on from struggling infielder Abraham Toro on Thursday. Toro was designated for assignment, while David Hamilton was recalled from Worcester to take his spot on the roster. Toro helped the Red Sox stay afloat after first baseman Triston Casas was lost for the season in early May, when he slashed 296/.296/.537 for the month. But his numbers dipped in each month since, and he hit just .137 in his 14 games in August. In his final at-bat for the Red Sox, Toro grounded into an inning-ending double play with the bases loaded in the 10th inning of the team's 4-3, 11-inning loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night. Hamilton hasn't been much better in the Majors, with the speedy infielder slashing just .174/.227/.265 in his 69 game for Boston. But Toro was redundant on the Red Sox roster after veteran first baseman Nathaniel Lowe was signed earlier this week.
