Kamaraj remembered on 123rd birth anniversary across south TN
At the Kamarajar Centenary Memorial Manimandapam in Virudhunagar district, revenue and disaster management minister KKSSR Ramachandran and finance minister Thangam Thennarasu paid tributes in the presence of district collector N O Sukhaputra and other officials by garlanding his statue and offering flower petals on behalf of the state government.
In Ramanathapuram, MLA Kadharbatcha Muthuramalingam inaugurated 11 additional classrooms built at a cost of ₹1.55 crore at Vallalpari Municipal Middle School and Municipal Girls' Higher Secondary School.
District collector Simranjeet Singh Kahlon and other officials were present. Students dressed as Kamarajar to mark the occasion and welcomed the guests with flowers, while the MLA and collector distributed sweets.
Meanwhile, as part of the Kalvi Valarchi Naal celebrations, Madurai city mayor V Indrani Ponvasanth and corporation commissioner Chitra Vijayan inaugurated NEET special coaching for 30 Class XII students from corporation schools. Study materials were distributed, and teachers from the CEOA group of schools will conduct weekend classes throughout the academic year.
Schools and colleges across the region marked Kamarajar's birth anniversary with special programmes, competitions, and awareness classes.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched a surprise crackdown on dummy school enrolments. UGCET, NEET: First round of provisional seat allotment result announced
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced the provisional results of the first round of seat allotment through the Undergraduate Common Entrance Test (UGCET or KCET) and NEET-UG for various professional courses, including engineering, medical, dental, and others, If there are any objections to the result, they can be submitted to KEA via email by Saturday, 11 a.m. After reviewing the objections, the final seat allotment results will be published, according to a release issued by KEA executive director H. Prasanna. Following the announcement of the final results (excluding medical courses), the schedule for admission to courses such as engineering and agriculture will be released. Since the first round of national-level seat allotment for medical, dental, and homeopathy courses has not yet been published, admissions to these courses are not currently open in Karnataka. Once the results are declared, the admission process for those courses will begin. Candidates must mandatorily exercise their choice entry to indicate whether they are satisfied with their allotted seat. Failure to do so will result in them being disqualified from participating in future rounds, and they will be removed from the entire seat allotment process, the release said. Candidates who are fully satisfied with their allotted course/college and wish to take admission must select Choice-1. If they are okay with the current allotment but are hopeful for a better college/course in the next round, they should select Choice-2. If the allotted course/college is not acceptable, they can select Choice-3. These candidates will be considered in the second round for all other preferences except the one they have rejected. If the candidate wants to exit the KEA seat allotment process entirely, they can select Choice-4. Candidates have been advised to discuss thoroughly with their parents before selecting any choice. Once candidates select Choice-1 or Choice-2, no changes will be allowed. However, those who select Choice-3 or Choice-4 will now be allowed to re-enter the system and opt for Choice-1 or Choice-2, before the last date he added. Medical document verification now at college level Candidates who have been allotted seats in private medical colleges no longer need to visit KEA for document verification. Instead, original document verification will now take place at the respective colleges, and documents must be submitted there. Earlier, KEA would collect these documents and then forward them to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), which caused many inconveniences. This process has now been simplified, the release said.
